so a few minutes ago not long at all ago before typing this when I went to go potty in the bathroom... There was a little pincher bug. And so I try to kill it and they take forever to kill... 40+ hits.. she doesn't kill it!! ooooh finally critical hit i killed it! but, it took forever. I smooshed it with the kittys poop scooper thing at first and then it was still moving a little so i smooshed it with the box. O___o but, it took forever. I swear it was like 50+ hits before i killed the little thing. D: I usually have to get people to kill things for me but, those don't really scare me as long as they don't touch me. :3
Discuss: bugs you find so terrifying you shiver at picture of them//Dramatic or weird experiences with trying to kill bugs or snakes. :P mostly bugs though. snakes usually don't show up in your house. ;-;
I really hate spiders too but, i hate all bugs. the only that don't bother me are ladybugs and lovebugs. I am ok with butterflys now, yes i use to run from them but, now i don't. :P

I have a really bad fear of all insects, especially ones that fly. I can't say it's clinical as I haven't been diagnosed with the actual fear of it but, it's bad. Even flies, ladybugs, gnats, and worms. The simplest insects scare me to death, I hate them. I can't even get close enough to a bug to kill it. Once there was a fly dead in the toilet. I had to make my dad come flush it first, to make sure it was gone, so I could go. It was really embarrassing ._.

I was getting dressed this morning when I noticed a Palmetto Bug (which is just a southern name for a big cockroach) climbing down my blinds. I wiped out my shoes and slapped that sucker to the ground several times. It's now lying behind my air conditioner in three pieces because I didn't want to pick it up and throw it away.
I feel kind of bad for killing it with such venom. I don't like killing things if they're not going to hurt me. :/

I think it's horrible when people kill snakes for no reason other than the fact that people intrude on their territory. Yes, if it's in your yard that is the snakes habitat. They are beautiful animals and should be respected, not to mention they keep rodents away. Wild rodents carry so many disease that I rather not be exposed to. I also keep pet snakes and they are a lot more intelligent than most people think.
On the note of insects, most of them do not bother me too much. I used to raise crickets and currently raise roaches as feeders even though the roaches creep me out somewhat still. Whenever I find a bug inside I just put it outside with the exception of a black window I found in my kitchen. I had to kill her because I did not want her biting one of my pets. I felt horrible for it after though because she really was a pretty spider. Not to mention I have horrible arachnophobia and was sweating and hyperventilating from touching her with a paper towel.
Even though I have a bad phobia of spiders I still won't kill them. I seriously start to hyperventilate and break out in a cold sweat if I have to have myself anywhere near a spider. I still take them outside even though I do not handle it too well. I rather have them outside than have them creeping around my apartment. Mosquitoes are really the only thing that I will kill sometimes and half the time I just shoo them away but that's mostly due to the fact that if you squish them someone else's blood sometimes gets on you and that just grosses me out too much.
I would not say that snakes do not show up in your house. I have had snakes come into my house before. I just take them as far away from the house as possible in the yard and let them go. I had a fox snake in my garden before that scared the crap out of me because I did not see it until it started moving. How you miss a snake that's nearly 6 feet long, I do not know.

Oh man, I'm sure you got it at low enough health and had it paralyzed, you should've used a Pokeball! Too bad it fainted...
Anyways. I'm not really afraid of bugs, unless they're HUGE. Like this one time, there was a huge white furry spider tarantula thing with black spots on the air conditioner outsite of my window, and it was there for about two or three weeks then it disappeared, never seen anything like it before in my life. Not even in pictures or anything.
The only time a smaller insect would startle me, would be if it caught me by surpise. One time I was in the shower, and I didn't notice but there was a spider in the corner. Then, after I put some shampoo in my hair, I turn around and it's on it's string of web right in front of my face! If I wouldn't have looked, I wouldn't ran right into it and had this weird, brown recluse-looking spider on my face! D:

I guess I am kind of weird, I am pretty okay with bugs/insects as long as they are alive! If its dead, you probably see my running away..I know, weird right? I also have a problem with dying flies.. you know when autumn is coming to an end and you hear them try flap their wings for the last time, it gives me the chills.
Hmm tho, I do have problems with ticks or whatever they are called, you know the tiny little things that bite into your and your pets skin and suck your blood. And the creatures you cant see but does live inside your pillows and stuffed animals, pictures of them freaks me out. But I must admit, insects herds, I mean like you see in pet stores, a a lot of them in one place is not really that nice either.

Ever hear a crackling noise when you squish a bug? That's so awesome, but so gross at the same time. I killed a giant spider last night and it made that noise.
I am generally okay with bugs. But if they look slimy, wet or shiny, a sudden fear grows inside me. I do not know why. Bugs like that just gross me out.
I can't imagine killing a snake! My mother has snakes come into her yard all the time. When I was visiting her, she let me stay in her basement; and one morning I woke up to find a snake in the center of the bedroom. Just a normal garden snake though. I just picked it up and took it out to the field behind her house. Killing them is wrong...and gross.

I'm much more likely to punch out a person than harm a snake. They're my favorite animals and play an important role in the food chain, especially when it comes to keeping the rodent population under control - Bet Europe would have loved to have a ton of snakes slithering about to eat those rats who were infected with fleas that carried Bubonic Plague. Plus they're adorable and just very interesting animals in general. The majority of them are harmless anyway.
Anyway, most bugs don't bother me so I just let them be or take them outside. I don't even hurt flies, just swat them away. I kill mosquitoes because I don't like them biting me but mainly because I hate how they sound when they fly around. I don't kill Ladybugs but I dislike them because they musk when frightened and it smells like ass. Plus they get into EVERYTHING. They're like tiny cockroaches in that sense. We get tons of them in my house every spring. They're a huge pain in the ass.
As for arachnids, I'm not a huge fan of spiders (nope, they're not bugs) but that's because as a baby I would try to climb the stairs and my grandma put a plastic spider on the steps and told me it'd bite me if I did. So basically, it's her fault. Anyway, I only kill them when they're in the house in a place where they'll be in my way and only if my dad's being an ass and doesn't want to take them outside. The other day I took a baby spider outside myself but you won't see me touching an adult. Right now we have a spider behind our door where we hang our coats. It's pretty small and made a cool funnel web between the wall and one of the jackets. I told my parents to leave it there so it can eat any bugs that come in when we go in and out of the house.

Living in the basement of an old house for several years has forced me to be in close-quarters with all manner of arthropods. My general rule of thumb is that if it isn't on my stuff or posing a danger to my life or sanity, it can live. I'm not the biggest fan of spiders, but unless they're the wandering kind, the stay in one place and get rid of the more bothersome chitinoid-producing members of the animal kingdom. If they find their way into my bed however, they've just earned themselves a one-way ticket to Interal-organs-are-no-longer-so-internal-ville.
If you're not like me and you can't find a way to cohabit with arachnids, do the humane thing and kill them on the spot. One of the things that most people don't know is that there are distinct indoor and outdoor species of spider which can only survive in their respective habitat. Taking an indoor spider and putting him outside will only lead to it re-entering your house or dying of starvation outside.

Bugs don't really bother me, unless they sneak up. I was the bug-killer when I lived at boarding school - my roommate was supa squeamish about them, one of those 'on the bed, in the corner of the room from a tiny bug' types, so I had to kill a lot of bugs on her behalf. However, from growing up around horses, which attract a fair number of bugs, and with a pool, which traps a fair number of bugs, and with brothers, who find the most disgusting things to show their sister, I can handle them bugs.
The only time they tend to bother me is if they sneak up on me. I once grabbed some paper towel from the garage, started on my way upstairs when suddenly, out of the corner (bottom?) of my eye, I saw a spider beelining for my fingers. I think that is one of the fews times you go say I truly screamed like a little girl. Flung that paper towel so hard I pulled my arm a bit. I was so embarrassed, haha
