What is your first memory?
Can you remember back to your first memory? What was it?
Mine was when I was about two. My dad was up in a tree and my mum handed me up to him so I could see out over our house. |
lol everyone says I'm making stuff up, though I KNOW my first memory was my first airplane ride, though it was apparently too early for babies to have memories. >.> Except I've been arguing it's my first memory since I was a little kid...soooo... Anyhoo, I remember it in black and white and being fed and having people in my face saying words (probably stuff like "Oh isn't she adorable!"). Soooo you can say it's not a real memory all ya want, but I'm sticking by it.

I have like really bad memory, but the first memory i have is when i was about 3 or 4 & i was at my grandmas house, i was in the living room(since thats where i'd sleep cuz the tv was there) & as i was laying there i saw a figure of a man walk from my grandmas room into my aunts bathroom. that freaked me out cuz there was only me, my aunt & my grandma in the house(cuz my grandparents have been separated for yrs). the next day i told my grandma what i saw & she told me it was probably the spirit that lives in her room.

I got alot of first memories, more than people usualy have, from what I hear from others.
I'll share one. Me and my brother were doing fingerpainting, and I made snow. On a white paper. With white paint. I found it very pretty. I think my mom and dad must have thought I was nuts. xD I thought it was special :'D |
I woke up next to my mom, then walked out and saw my family in the living room. -sigh-

I remember a couple of my first nightmares, too. One was after my dad read some dinosaur book to me and I had a dream I was being chased by a giant T-Rex and I was hiding in my house. Another was a really jumbled dream where it was all dark and nasty things like an evil witch on a broom and stuff were just kinda flying through.

Mine scares me, but makes me determined to swim and prove it wrong. I remember that I was at the river and there was a rope swing into it. I yelled "MUM! I can use the big swing now!" I used it and nearly drowned.

I remember when I was about six or seven. My Dad flicked a half finished cigarette off the roof. With my child's mind I thought hey I can be like dad. It tasted horrible. Funny thing is I smoke now.

Mine was getting my hand cut open on a glass table when I used to live in Florida. I was chasing a lizard and fell on the table. Don't remember much more than that.

I think it may have been going to the playground across the street from my house, actually.
Of course, I did that all the time when I was younger, so I really have no idea whether that was actually it or not. o.o |
I really don't know t he timeline of these, but I have a few distinct childhood memories.
I remember when I was like 5-6 and throwing up all over the hall and my room. My parents cleaned it up and I fell asleep. I also remember going to the beach around the same time and stepping on one of those sand pricks. It ruined the next few days for me, even though it was easy to get off. I also remember one of my worst nightmares for that age. My mom and I were walking through a dare, eerie maze with lots of ghosties,witches, etc popping out. I don't know if it would scare me now, but it did then. |
I remember many things from when i was very young, but the earliest puts me at around 8 months. My mom was handing me over to a rather scary looking woman to have me weighed in a clinic. I remember the scales were like the kind used to weigh fruit in a supermarket, and the tiling on the walls was white, with a coloured car on each one. I screamed a LOT, because from my view it looked as though she was going to throw me down a black whole.
My mom thinks it's creepy that i can remember it, as with anything else i recall, but she won't deny that these things were true. I think it's utter piffle when people say there's a set age for the storing of memories. |
I had to think about this one, but here are the few I came up with.
My very first memory is actually kind of awesome. My first memory is my first birthday. I remember that my mom made a bunch of miniature cakes, one for each guest. They were shaped like Garfield (you know, the orange cat). I remember looking down at my cake and pretty much slamming my whole face in it. XD I remember taking fistfulls of cake and cramming them in my mouth, and then it's over. I asked my dad about it, and he confirmed that it's true. He said it was really funny, until I started choking. I'm glad I don't remember that part. DX The other ones were all random forzen moments in time. I have a lot of those. I remember playing "Hungry Hungry Hippos" with my Grandpa Bob when I was, like, two. My mom and dad were at work, and he was watching me. I was the pink hippo, and I won. I also remember another one in Grandpa Bob's house, when I was 1, maybe 2 years old. I slid down a little slide, and banged my head into a table. I then promptly started bawling. :'( Poor little me. I'm glad I remembered this stuff, because my first memory before was rather disturbing. :( I like this one much better. |
