That's how bad this morning's New Zealand earthquake was. Thank god there were only two major injuries, but one of our cities now has the front of buildings sitting on main streets.

What unexpected things have upset life where you live lately?

That's a pretty big earthquake. I'm very weary of earthquakes; I was a part of the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989. Sounds like the New Zealanders weren't too seriously affected, and no deaths. Thank goodness!

I heard about that too... Is it just me, or does it seem kind of weird that there have been so many huge earthquakes this year? I'm kind of wondering about it. o.o

Wow, that's terrible. My sincerest condolences go out to those who were injured and their families. I was not even aware that there was an earthquake. I've not watched the evening news yet.

I heard about that earthquake on the news earlier. I feel sorry for anyone's lives that were greatly affected by it in any way.

Though there hasn't been much going on around where I live. This shockingly has been a rather quiet summer out here in Nevada. Normally there are tons of wildfires to report. But I've only hurt of one (I believe) and that was just in California. It's just been pretty hot this summer, which isn't all that surprising.

I need to make an update to this thread. Today has become even worse since this morning's earthquake.

This afternoon a plane crashed over Fox Glacier.

Nine People Died.

One of them was my friend's father.

This day, Saturday the fourth of September, is a day of sorrow.

To Nine Families... I am sorry for your loss.

To even more... I am sorry you lost your homes.

To Christchurch New Zealand... I hope your water comes back soon.
