Hey guys if your at Gaia Online just a bit a warring my Avast Free Antivirus went off a few times telling me there is a Trojan Virus on there. So I think it would be wise is to check your computer and stay away from Gaia until things cool off or until they fix the problem.
I have sent a PM to the Mods and hope they got it if you want to send one as well go right ahead. So just telling you this so you won't end up with a sick computer.

Really? I wonder if gaia is under attack by some hackers? Oh well, it is a coporately run site now so I'm sure they have all the resources they need to keep it going fine. But I will definitely stay away, I cannot afford for my little laptop to get sick anymore. The world is just not safe of disease anymore humph!

I never went on Gaia much in the first place, so to me, that is just another reason to keep my distance.

It could have been another site you were on too because Gaia is perfectly fine.

This fersure. I used to be a gaia fanatic, but now I'm almost anti-gaia. This is just another push for me to be that way.

It's not Gaia itself. It's an advertisement from the site, which they have no control over. Well, I mean, they can remove the advertisement but they don't get to pick and choose which ads come up, as they are Google generated.

Probably from a Google-generated ad, like someone said. I have Adblock for a reason, though I allow it to show ads from specific sites... Gaia is not one of them. Not taking my chances.

I hope they're able to clear things up, or they may lose quite a bit of members!

I agree with the others who said it was the advertisements.

I got a Trojan warning from Gaia like, a year ago. It was some ad on there that set Avast off. I asked my father about it and posted in the forums there. The internet seems to like to depend solely on Google; an evil empire with the single purpose of filling you computer only with pro-google themes, weird start-up screens, and advertisements to meet little girls in your area. Beware, Google bites.

I have an 11.5 million gold account on gaia, and I never go on it, don't even care to. My horns of the demon are just chilling there, in an unused inventory.

Whitewolf, if you really don't want the items, I know someone who'd be glad to have them >.<

The only reason I never got rid of them is because it felt like a shame to just toss all of that hard earned stuff away. At the same time, it feels horrible hording them.

Perhaps I SHOULD give them to someone who can make good use of the stuff.

I offer my services in helping to dispose of them. If that's not too close to begging and a little selfish. Forgive me my greed?

No, its not greedy. I just gave away the horns to someone who stuck by my side the entire time I was on Gaia, and if I had the patience, I'd give it all away piece by piece. I have some really good, old evolving items, and some nice collectibles. My greedy side wanted to get something out of them, but doing so would go against two different sites TOS, and it feels good helping people out. I really want them to go to someone who uses Gaia the way I use Mene.

Perhaps I can give you a gift. What is your username over there?

Seeky. I've been loyal to Gaia since 2004--mostly for the Avatar Talk community.

EDIT: Thank you so much! <33

if you're using firefox, i'd suggest getting ad-block and probably a script blocker. it'll stop those nasty trojans and phishers getting details.

gaia itself doesn't have the trojan but probably an advertisement from google gave you the trojan. again, it could be anything. you could've opened and email that had the trojan attached or you could have downloaded something. don't blame gaia.

It's probably in one of the ads, just download an adblocker program for FF. I use Adblock Plus and the number of spyware and viruses I get has significantly decreased.

eh someone hacked into 3 out of 4 accounts of Sora's on gaia and nobody bothered to help, so Sora doesn't care for Gaia anymore anyways XP
Just another reason for Sora to keep his distance ^^
