I love Halloween. I already have my cotume picked out, I'm going as a banana.
|
Actually Kole the only one underaged will be my cousin and her best friend. Both being 18 (19 is legal), but there will be drinking. Hell for my 19th birthday my mom bought us booze! *giggles* I decided to live at home while I was in college and upon graduating at the beginning of the month, it's just been easier on my mom (who's starting her own business) to have me at home. But my party will be a BYOB, since I'm not paying for everyone to drink on halloween. I'll have some drinks bought, but not enough for everyone (around 12, maybe 13... possibly 14^.^')
It is an awesome event each year, one of my girl friends told me that if I decided not to have it, she was going to punch me out until I agreed, not that she'd do it. Two years ago I had my dad build me this little cage out of wood 2x4s we had laying around, and everyones favorite thing is to get into bit of trouble so they can have their picture taken in the cage with the hanging skeleton. And Thanks. We thought the costumes would be cute too. I'm thinking of taking the classic 'bed sheet toga' and taking and old one, ripping it up and going with more of a tube top and skirt. I love home making costumes, rather than buying them. |

I'm really excited for the Disco actually, I'm finally old enough to go. All the awesome things happen when you get into 5th year xD Yesh, Michael Jackson. I was planning it last year, but apparently that was just "too soon" and disrespectful. So this year it is. I allready have the hat, so all I need to get is the gloves, short trousers, black shoes, a shirt and white socks. I wouldn't mind a light up suit like he was supposed to have for the Billie Jean song on the This Is It tour, but that would cost too much :( They invented false teeth for a reason ;) |
YAY HALLOWEEN! another reason for us cosplayers to get back in our true suits (sotaspeak) and strutt that costume that we worked so hard for! ^^
|
OMG I LOVE HALLOWEEN! I live for this time of year. I love to go to all of the little stores that pop up full of halloweeny things and coo over the adorable baby costumes XD
Last year my sister, her husband, their friend, my boyfriend and I went to an event called Freak night! it was rockin'. I can only describe it as a kind of rave. There are three stages going on in this concert hall, each with their own popular techno/trance DJ, and people are in costumes dancing. A lot of the girls just wear lingerie and those furry leg warmer things and call it a costume but there are also a mishmash of great costumes in there. It was a ton of fun, and I'm hoping to go again this year. |
I love Halloween XD I typically wear my Skeleton/witch mix up (its a skeleton with a pointy hat, fake hair, and cape). I am a bit old for trick-or-treat now but its still fun scaring people who come up to the door! ;)
|
Halloween is THE BESSSSSTTTT. It lets me stock up on all sorts of makeup or clothing that I can never get anytime else during the year. I actually don't really do much of anything on Halloween! I just like the things that come into the stores for it lol.

Mm. Are the people in your area as vindictive as this one? In ours, even if you do give treats you still run the risk of having crab apples or eggs lobbed at your house. ¦I Having a birthday on Hallowe'en would rule. I envy this friend of yours! As for area... I live in Canada, actually; Newfoundland. :'D Hallowe'en is usually cold and misty here. Sometimes it snows or just flat out rains. |

@Lordi ~ Then I see your dad is lucky like my best friend becase his cake was orange and black with chost candles on it. It was really awesome, I think he really liked it. @Wynna ~ A banana? Don't drive everyone bananas lol. If I was there I could dress up like an apple lol @Yamisora ~ yes, cos playing goes on quite a bit during Halloween. I try to save that for festivals and comic - con conventions @Safi ~ Freak Night? Meaning everyone dresses however they want huh? Could be fun espeically since it is in the spirity of the holiday. A rave huh, hopefully they wouldn't have ectasy lol |
@Kole - Haha, well I don't wanna fight you for the title, so let's just call it a draw!
Oh yeah, I know that hat, that's expensive! :o I'm not that rich on Gaia, but I have my Trick-or-Treat tote and the various Halloween event items that I love. |
Kole: I took my little cousins last year, we had a tone of fun, even tho it poured :XD We went as three Witches (They are 7 and three) and They had a blast. :) I will probably be taking them again this year so it will be really fun, trying to get a few of the other younger cousins that are going to all dress up as pirates (Since I have all the costumes for it) It would be amusing for about 15 of us to all "Ransack" Peoples candy stores :XD And yes I love my tricks too :XD
|
Halloween has to be one of my favorite holidays too! x3 I think it's because I've dressed up as long as I can remember and gone trick or treating every year. Now that I'm seventeen, I can only take my little sister. D: No more candy from people for me. I have to buy my own. xP
Although, the fact that you get to dress up for fun and never get weird looks is the most awesome thing ever. I've gone as a wide array of things, from classic halloween monsters to video game characters. This year, I'm either going as a fallen angel with massive black wings, sword, etc. or a Circus ringmaster. (top hat, red shirt, curly moustache...) Unfortunately, I can't decide which I like better. Who wants to help me pick? xDD |
@Ezekielle- Both sound like fun to make, even though I have no experience whatsoever about sewing. XD
I guess it depends on how much time you have to make one, eh? Unless you have wings already, it seems like they would be really hard to make. But I love wings, so that sounds like a cool costume (and when you said "sword" it made me think of Sephiroth XD). But all in all I think the ringmaster sounds like the most fun idea! You could make it really strange-looking and colorful. :eager: |

A mix up huh for costumes? That sounds pretty original actually. It sounds pretty cool. I like trick or treating with my nieces and nephew but they are starting to get to where they don't like it. I did my last trick or treating craze when I was twenty. Sounds kind of sad huh? Scaring people is fun, like the halloween song says... Life's no fun without a good scare! @Weech ~ The costumes that are available are cool and the specialty Halloween stores that have everything you may need for the night lol. When I used to work at a dollar store once upon a time I remember all the crazy little stuff we used to sell for Halloween which was really cool. I enjoyed stocking it. @Toris ~ I doubt you would be that horrible of a babysitter lol... children require a lot of attention and responsibility-- which is why at the present moment no children for me until I can make a good salary and take better care of myself. You say you live in Newfoundland?! That's really funny because a couple years ago my dad and I were going to go there to St. Johns but instead my dad screwed up the trip on the ship we were going on and we went to St. John, New Brunswick instead :( I want to come there so badly. The people are only as vindictive as individual case by case. I think ultimately people are somewhat the same inside in most places. I'm pretty vindictive myself if someone pushes me to my breaking point. Maybe it's the Italian in me. I live right now in the mountains of NC in the US and it's kind of like that here too, except we do get dry air for being so high up.(1100 meters?) @Sephaline ~ Oh no, you can never love Halloween enough;) I have no idea how much the Kandy Korn hat is worth on gaia these days. I'm sure my account is probably worth about fifty million gold at the moment or more.... not really sure. I have 1.5 Million in pure. Don't really know what I'm saving it for to be honest. I log on about once a week on average. @Lixlaria~ THat sounds similar to the situation with my nieces and nephews and yes I have my tricks as well ;) It is definitely a lot of fun! Three witiches you say? Maybe you could have been the Sanderson sisters from the movie Hocus Pocus. @Eziekiel ~ I trick or treated all the way until I was 20! I still dress up. I remember when I was in the seventh grade I dressed up as a video game character for the first time as well. I dressed up as Toad from Super Mario Brothers 2. Princess Toadstool's side kick (mushroom retainer) You ought to try Kid Icarus out lol!!! But I think I would go for the Fallen Angel! |
@Sephaline: I have a bunch of pieces for the ringmaster, but I really want to do the angel. xD It'd be so much fun~
@Kole_Locke: I've always wanted to cosplay Pit... And Toad sounds like a fun costume! :3 |

@Kole Locke: Really? 8D I hadn't heard that. I'll have to check it out. x3 And the costume doesn't sound hard. The hardest part of my angel costume is going to be, believe it or not, finding a good sword and scabbard that's not a 2-dollar one from a Halloween store. xD

Yay!! Halloween!
Halloween is my favorite holiday. There's something about the occult that is so... I don't know. This year, I'm going to dress up as a gypsy, but I don't know if I'll go do anything. I might have a bonfire or something. Yeah, a bonfire party, that'd be fun... |
@Ezekielle- If you'd rather do that, go ahead! It sounds like an awesome idea, too. I'd love to know how you end up making the wings!
@Kole- Ain't that the truth! ;) *hums the tune of the Pumpkin Song* Yeah, Gaia's economy has become really ridiculous. The only reason I still go on is because of the avatar I am still attached to and because I like to walk around in Towns to talk to random users, which you can't do here, but Menewsha has much better forums (and reasonable prices XD). Oh, AND for the Halloween events, of course. |
Fahst doesn't celebrate it. D: BUT WANTS TO SOO BAD!
Fahst always hears such great stories from friends about it...and FREE CANDY! T_T |
I love Halloween as well. Although, I can't trick-or-treat anymore.
But, it's a fun time of year. For beginners, it starts off the whole holiday season because there's Halloween, Dia de Los Muertos, then my birthday, then Thanksgiving, and then we're going into Christmas. It's one long party! And then, there's all the cool stuff that goes along with it. Like witches, magic, and the paranormal. I need to start collecting music and making playlists~ |

Yea, there's actually some videos of it online, just google it and you will see. The Toad costume was pretty neat yet original in the fact that I had to improvise on materials otherwise. Well as far as a sword, other than actually getting a real one-- well you could check BudK which they have cheap real swords that are non sharpened, but not sure on the law for carrying around a sword even if it is not sharpened-- I still think that's illegal. I would go for a wooden sword, or better yet an angelic staff like they have on gaia lol. @Princess Cupcake ~ The occult is definitely fascinating, but the word occult has such a negative connotation to it. Did you know that Bon Fires are actually ritualistic of Halloween for warding off evil spirits? @Sephaline ~ The Pumpkin King song is awesome.. an original Halloween. I like towns to collect insects and trash and sometimes flowers. They really should start making items that require ridiculous amounts of trash so people can use up all the trash in their inventory like some items that require over ten thousand white xerox papers. Then trash might actually be worth at least a gold a piece lol. I'm definitely still attached to my avatar their as well. Although if they had towns on here it would be kind of cool, yes, but the forums on here are much better. @Fahst ~ Yes, Halloween is fun, you should give it a try... so why don't you celebrate it if you don't mind me asking? @Kaizy-Kat ~ I like the way Mexicans or I guess the entire Latino community celebrate Halloween-- I watched a little about it when I was watching the movie the Halloween Tree, good movie by the way (cartoon). I'm definitely into the paranormal for sure. I love to go to supposedly haunted places to explore for sure! |

I made a terrible discovery recently that one of my friends has not been allowed to celebrate Halloween in her neighborhood since she was 8 years old! Apparently her church deemed it an 'evil' holiday and once the kids reached a certain age they were forced to stop celebrating. It was one of the most horrible things I had ever heard of in my life. Therefore, I invited her to come with me to my neighborhood for our Halloween celebration to help my neighbor with her Alice in Wonderland theme. She was very happy and if my neighbor says that she needs more people to help my Mom will drive us down there when the time comes. Hopefully, even more help will be needed so that I can ask all of my friends to join me. I think it's horrible that something like that happens, it should be stopped. I had never even heard about it happening before. I hope this is not your case, but if it is, I am deeply sorry and wish you luck in finding a way to celebrate this wonderful holiday if you want to. |
Ahhh, free candy is the best part 8D ha ha ha!
I shall be dressing up as a killjoy :] |
My friends and I are considering going trick-or-treating this year, despite being high school students.
Either way, we're planning on dressing up. I'm probably going to take articles of clothing out of my normal wardrobe and just put them together in ways that I wouldn't normally and say that I'm a vampire (seeing as how my friends constantly say that I am anyway. xD). Like I have this one dress from Hot Topic and a pair of boots that will work perfectly for what I'm planning, and I'm probably going to wear black lace gloves and things like that as well. I'm also planning on doing my eyeliner in designs and outlining it in red. ^_^ I don't really know everything we're going to be doing, though - Some of my friends want to trick-or-treat, but a few of us don't really want to do that anymore. We may be going to one of those haunted house things with the people that jump out at you or something like that as well. |
