i don't know exactly what i'm doing for Halloween. GASP!!! how dare me! i think i'm just gonna sit around and eat candy while wearing my cat ears. =^w^= i'm still debating as to what i'll dress my son as tho. unfortunately, he's still too young for trick-or-treating, or even too much candy.

Candy is another bonus of Halloween is all of the wonderful sweet tasting chocolates and taffies that are the best icing on a cake you can have. So what is a killjoy?

@Heiress of the Evening ~ A hot topic vampire huh? Sounds like a lot of fun actually, and there is nothing wrong with doing a little bit of trick or treating. Little kids aren't the only people who love candy afterall. I went trick or treating all the way until I was twenty! Besides girls can get away with it a bit more easier. So get out there, dress up, trick or treat, and really have a good time -- it's Halloween!!

@Binka Kitty ~ Oh my Gosh! That is Blasphemous!! Na..hehehehhheheh just kidding. Well it sounds like you're a mother and have your hands full. Well you can share you're candy with the other little ghost and goblins running around to scare the evil spirits away. Well my a good friend of mine dressed her son as little teddy bear, he was only two years old and it was a nice little outfite.

shadowsoffear 09-25-2010 04:10 AM

I actually haven't thought of it. And even if I did find an AWESOME costume, who would see it? I'm too old to trick-or-treat and no one ever throws a halloween party.

Sephaline 09-25-2010 06:10 AM

@shadows: Well, maybe they don't where you live, in Zanyville, but I'm pretty positive there are lots of Halloween parties all over the place every year. Unless you mean that no one every has one in your neighborhood, which is depressing. But you could always look for one elsewhere.

Lady Ligeia 09-25-2010 03:13 PM

I usually end up just sitting around with a couple friends and watching horror movies in costume, broken up by going out to dinner in costume. It's a wonderful Halloween tradition. Unfortunately, I have no clue whatsoever what to dress up as this Halloween- I've used up all the ideas I have ready-to-go in my closet, and it's against the rules to reuse costumes unless you're in horrible financial straits. >.<

But Halloween is certainly one of my favorite holidays, mostly because... well... it's just fun! I love dressing up and just having a blast.

Killer Wifey 09-25-2010 03:18 PM

i want to fun around outside as a sick stripper who never learned how to take her clothes off, then when me and my man are done partying, my stripper costume's going to have a whole new meaning, my costume's gonna get some color back in her face cause he is going to teach her to dance. lol

halloween is the one holiday you really can dress up like a whore or maniac act a donkey and get away with it. its like the ultimate party holidAY
new years dont got nothing on halloween
i agree with her though halloween is like the perfect holiday with the perfect weather perfect costume everything!!!!

coccyx 09-26-2010 01:59 AM

I don't really plan on doing anything at all. I look forward to hearing about my favorite band's normal HaLUDOween fare, but my birthday's 5 days beforehand and that's enough excitement for the week. I'm not big on candy, anyway, and I can't even eat half of it, so it's not such a big thing for me.

Sadistix_Love 09-26-2010 02:05 AM

I am so excited for Halloween this year! It is first year of university for me so I can't wait to see what kind of parties or events the university or people will have! Throughout high school, it was a fun holiday but I sorted drifted away from it. But now that it's university where I can have the time of my life, I totally look forward to it! And finally, I can get a new costume after six years! XD

Lathrine 09-26-2010 03:26 PM

I've decided that I'll stop trick-or-treating when people start beating me with brooms while screaming "YOU'RE WAY TO OLD WHIPPER-SNAPPER GIT OFF MAH PORCH AND HOLD A PARTY LIKE A NORMAL TEEN >:U"
And even then I shan't stop celebrating Halloween. ;D Because it is indeed my favorite holiday. Staying up late, romping about with friends in costumes while you get free candy? Yesplz! 8D
I had a friend tell me that I'd stop trick-or-treating by the time I was 16, 'cause I would just grow out of it. Uh, yeah. That... that didn't happen.

Last Halloween I dressed up as Deidara from Naruto. c: My original costume plan for this year won't be finished in time, so I'm doing Deidei again this year, with a twist: Halloween Town Zombie Deidara. ;D Most likely accompanied by Halloween Town Zombie/Ghost/Vampire/Hasn't Decided Xigbar. And Shepard from Mass Effect if my brother gets off his butt and makes his costume.

I'm actually not sure what the Halloween plan is. o_o I'm... I'm relatively sure that it's trick-or-treating with friends. Not 100% sure, though.

Lady Ligeia: Going out to dinner in costume? owo I... I think want I to incorporate this into our Halloween traditions. That sounds ridiculously fun.

Lady Ligeia 09-26-2010 03:50 PM

@Latherine- It is ridiculously fun! ^.^ Though since the tradition started 2 years ago, I'm 2 for 2 in "getting hit on with bad puns about my costume". So if you don't like a bit of creepy attention, you may want to avoid it. I applaud you for cosplaying on Halloween, though. That's my current plan for this year's costume, since my outfit is almost done anyways.

Atollie 09-26-2010 03:50 PM

I love Halloween! All the awesome scarey movies come out around Halloween time. I don't go trick or treating anymore though unless I'm taking my niece. When I'm not doing that or after I'm done doing that my sister and I watch TAPS or a scarey movie. It's a lot of fun trying to scare each other.

shadowsoffear 09-26-2010 04:47 PM

No, I mean I don't like to go to bit public parties and whatnot, I just go to parties that are thrown by people I know in real life. And I go to a private school, so the airhead girls are all "EWWW halloween is so creepy. I WANNE BE TINKERBELL!!"
//facepalm

Sephaline 09-26-2010 10:10 PM

@shadows: That is...sickening. I am deeply sorry for you. :C *pats head*

rawcookiedough 09-28-2010 01:24 AM

Halloween is also my favorite holiday, excluding my birthday (which is my personal holiday).
I love it for slightly different reasons.
The dressing up is a major part for me. I love it.
Candy is the other. Whether it's from trick or treating or post-Halloween sales it's just as sweet.
But the main reason I love Halloween is that it brings me together with the people I care about. We don't need a holiday for it, but it's still nice to have an annual party of awesome.

I'm not sure what I'm going as this year.
Usually I plan it in advance but I've recently moved so I'm unsure.
I may just go as a Harry Potter Mary Sue since I'm knitting a slytherin scarf.

Sephaline is right, there are many halloween parties all over the place. You just have to look, grab a few friends and go have fun, but be safe of course.

@Lady Ligea ~ Well the point is to be social which there is nothing wrong with that. You should enjoy yourself and I think most of us are on the brink of financial crisis due to the bad economy.

@Killer Wifey ~ Halloween is the best holiday in my opinion and yes you can dress as trashy or as classy as you like and whatever else happens happens as long as you are safe. New Years is actually kind of depressing to me.

@cocyx ~ Well different strokes for different folks, I have a best friend whose birthday is right on Halloween. What holiday do you like?

@Sadistic Love ~ I'm sure the university will have all kinds of Halloween festivities going on so you should take advantage of it and have a great time.

Amethyst Lavenlight 09-28-2010 05:41 AM

Thanksgiving is actually my favorite holiday, but I still think Halloween is cool. :) I used to always dress up, but now that I've grown a little older I stay at home and give candy to the little kids coming by. Since I just moved to a new state and have no friends here, that also makes it less fun to participate in Trick-or-Treating. :c Once I transfer to a 4-year college next fall, though, I'll be able to dress up again. I'm looking forward to that. :D

I agree, I trick or treated since I was twenty and really enjoyed it and still take little ones in my family trick or treating since it is so fun dressing up and gallyvanting all around late at night under hopefully a full moon in the dead of night lol hehhehehhee
It sounds like you have some interesting halloween choices for costumes. If you go trick or treating have fun and save a candy bar for me too! LOL

@Atollie ~ I really like it too, watching scary movies with friends can be a lot of fun. I heard about a Halloween 3D which was supposed to be the remake of Halloween Three, Season of the Witch... who knows... the rob zombie movies were just overly violent and gory really-- I liked the originals better.

@Shadowsoffear ~ Well it's hard planning halloween socials as so many people have so many other kinds of ideas what to do. Yea, Halloween pansies are annoying for sure!

@Rawcookiedough ~ Halloween is an event for all reasons under the moon lol, hopefully it will be a great one for you as I have many reasons as well why I like it too.

@Amethyst Lavenlight ~ Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that is like... bleh... I have to work then and my mother isn't thrilled about it since I have been home most Thanksgivings, but my family is somewhat religious so it's kind of a drag to me since they kind of jab it at me. Halloween is ok giving out candy since you will get to see many costumes, but once you go to school you will have plenty of opportunities, trust me.

*rings a large gong while bats fly from everywhere as orange and black confetti falls*

It's MIDNIGHT (at least where I live, anyway) and officially October 1st, guys! Halloween is only 30 days away now (not counting today)! I'm now changing my ringtone to the "This is Halloween" song from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Whoo-hoo! :D

Edit:
Apparently I'll have to change my ringtone later as I think I left my phone at my friend's. Curses. *facepalm*

Art Greylace 10-01-2010 04:01 AM

I love halloween!

Still not really got anything costumey though...

xRhii 10-01-2010 04:29 AM

Halloween is definitely my favorite holiday too, perfect for me because Autumn is my favorite season because of it's quiet, simple beauty. I just love the fact that Halloween is a day you can go crazy and dress up as anything you want and use your imagination freely without too much judgment. I love dressing up and Halloween is just so filled with self expression that it's completely amazing. This year me and my best friend are doing costumes that go together. She's an insane patient with her rainbow straight jacket. And then there's me her sexy yet horrific nurse. We're still putting together our costumes and planning things. Our first chance to wear them is at our school dance on October 21st, I seriously can't wait! Then I get it get all dressed up again, just not completely sure what we're going to do then.

October is here at last, bats fly and jackolanterns begin to light our way into this wonderful and mysterious month of colors and mystery. I love that song-- this is Halloween.
@Art Greylace ~ Don't put it off for too long. Halloween will be here before you know it.
@Xhrii ~ Yes, Halloween is special and that is one of the reasons... at least one of the fun reasons. That idea sounds pretty interesting, so rainbow straight jacket lol... and a horrific nurse? Horrific in what way? Murdering nurse or crazy ?

`Eclipse 10-02-2010 05:21 AM

Oh man, freaking yes! I can't wait for Halloween. :]
So many Halloween parties this year, AND trick or treating?
And I don't give a rat's ass if I'm 18, I want candy, dammit. D:<
I need to find a costume. U:

Glitter Golgotha 10-02-2010 05:37 AM

I'd be happy to live in a place where it was Halloween all year round. :P
I'm going to try to be some kind of swamp zombie thing this year. I really wanted to make a werewolf suit, but we didn't have the time or money, so I'm going cheap this year as usual. *sigh*
Not really sure what I'm actually doing, aside from maybe walking around the neighborhood and passing out candy. I'm hoping we'll get to go to some haunted attractions.

Yes you are definitely right, Halloween is freaking awesome! I think I have been to more Halloween parties in college than I did when I was younger, but of course I really enjoyed those as well. Yes, and I still like candy at my old age...lol I'm just dressing up as a musketeer this year.

TelstelNSG1 10-02-2010 06:32 AM

I love halloween!
I always dress as a Black Witch, going to buy more candy this year and decorations, I looked pretty good i thought, lol.
I can't wait for halloween!
