Ok, Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year. People look at me strangely when I tell them that is truly so and they are like "Well, don't you like Christmas?! I mean it's like the holiday that Jesus Christ was born! Are you just weird or something?" and of course, I'm like "Hell fucking yea! I'm a devil worshipper you damned bible thumper!" hehehhehe. I used to say shit like that when I was a teenager. Now, I say number one, it is a pagan holiday that celebrates the dead, which I think having a day to remember those who have passed is a respectful thing to do. Number two, I like the season it is in because it is not too cold and not too hot and it is very colorful! I really enjoy watching the leaves. Number three, I love being able to dress up as anoything or anyone that I so choose or desire. Number four, I like the fact it is a picturesque holiday and is full of mystery and legend in many places lol.

Well with all of that said, what is it if you dress up that you are planning to dress up as? Do you eat candy during the holiday and what are you planning on doing, even if it is just trick or treating.lol I dressed up as Wolfgang Amadues Mozart last Halloween, it was pretty cool, and the year before that I dressed up as Boy George which older people recognized me, but most people thought I was Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Carribean.

So let us share our Halloween Happiness!!

I love Halloween! It's the only day of the year that I can dress up and people won't give me creepy looks xD I really want to be Harley Quinn from Batman :3 I'm a huge Batman nerd. One of my friends might be Catwoman, but she's not sure yet D: I think my favorite costume though was the time our local roller skating rink had a costume party, and I was a Geemo, which was a combo of a goth and an emo, and I had this really crappy black wig. It was hilarious xD

Me too, Hallowee is in my humble opinion one of the best holidays that rock just because you can dress up as anything you want. Harley Quinn? Is she really Poison Ivy? Bat man is pretty cool, I like the old fashioned Michael Keaton filmed movie. The second one and third is really cool, I never saw the forth with Mr. Freeze-- a couple people have told me that movie was pretty cheesy.

I like watching how people rig up costumes and come up with some crazy ideas that are really cool, two years ago, one costume that was really memerable for me was one kid who took Alluminum Foil and cardboard box and what dressed up as a regular eight bit Nintendo controller which was pretty cool.

Halloween is so cool, I think may dress up as an inccubus. A male version of a succubus which is Carrigan or no... actually her name is Morrigan from Darkstalkers. I think a lot of people get what Halloween is wrong and try to demonize it way too much. I think it is kind of ludicrous actually. It is a really fun holiday and like Kole says, it is a respectful holiday to also remember those who have passed.

I've never been trick-or-treating or even dressed up for halloween because my mom never allowed me to. Now that I'm 18, I'm like, overflowing with ideas for this year's halloween.

I already have a plan for an outfit, but I have to save up to buy it. I don't wanna reveal it though. :]

Halloween has always been a huge thing, at least on my mom's side of the family. I love it, definitly my favorite holiday! I work at a haunted house, 3rd year for this attraction, and that's a lot of fun. I'm the head makeup artist out there which is exciting. Before the haunted house I would trick-or-treat every year XP

This year I plan on going to Cedar Point for Halloweekends since my mom said I have to take my sister XD So hopefully it'll end up being the two of us, my boyfriend, one of her friends then our brother and his girlfriend XP We'd be there from Friday to Sunday morning which would allow us to do whatever we had planned for Halloween XP Other than that I'm not really sure what I'm gonna do. I could always hang out with my boyfriend's family or go trick-or-treating with mine XP

At this point I'm more concerned with wtf I'm going to do for Halloween. I want to have a party at my house , but I still live with my parents so it would be pretty lame. I want to go to some of costume party or something.

Dressing up is a big thing for me, I love makeup and costumes and weird stuff. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays for the same reasons as you mentioned.

I have no clue what I'm going to become on Halloween. I might do something humorous this year. Maybe clown makeup or something. Last year I was a zombie. I really like doing zombie makeup. But I kinda don't wanna do that this year. I might do some type of weird clown makeup that is humorous, but has a "creepy" theme to it. I don't know...I'll definitely post pics if I am still active on this site by then, haha.

I absolutely love Halloween. Though sadly I haven't been able to do anything during Halloween the last few years. But I really do wanna help out with a really epic haunted house, and scare the living hell outta some people *o*. I already do so chatting with my friends XD

I love Halloween. It's as important to me as Christmas as far as decorations and such go, but even my Christmas' are sort of 'Halloweenish'.
This year my roommates and I are planning a party on the Friday before, we're going to a party on the Saturday before, then we're going out to a bar on Halloween itself.
We're planning costumes form a series called 'Scandinavia and the World'.
Originally I was going to be the Repo Man from Repo the Genetic Opera, but I decided on Sister Finland
I got tired of being the same anime character for three years in a row...

Halloween was way funner when I was younger but I still like it. It would be nice if I could dress up and go to parties and stuff but meh lol If I were to dress up this Halloween, which I think I might, it'd have to be some kind of fairy or cat. <3 Or both. I just want wings, ears and a tail! :squee: The candy is a really big deal for me. I love candy. Sweettarts are my favorite and I know I could get them anytime I wanted but yeah, it's not healthy lol So I wait til Halloween to stuff myself with candy. So..yeah XD OH and I looooooooove being scared xD So I like to go to haunted houses and scary corn mazes

I love Halloween. I'm way past the age to trick or treat and I just moved last year so my sister and I just dress up and pass candy out. I love seeing all the little kids dressed up and how excited they get over the candy. Last year, my sister and I saved a bag of candy for the last trick or treater and just gave him the whole bag. I never saw a happier kid. XD

I also don't like Christmas and am no longer celebrating it because I just do not believe in what the day stands for. I really do not see the point in celebrating a) "Jesus's birthday" or b) a cooperate holiday. I used to celebrate it for the family but certain family members really ruined that for my sister and I so we're going to either volunteer at a soup kitchen or try to do something where we can visit kids that would normally not have gifts and give them gifts.

I'm celebrating Samhain this year with my sister, but we're gonna dress up like cliché witches to hand out candy to the stupid little brats- I mean, happy children.

Hopefully it doesn't friggen' snow on or before the 31st this year though.

I adore Halloween. I am 21, but thankfully (minus the tattoo's and piercings) I still look like I'm 15. (Bars are fun!) So I still wander around and trick-or-treat. Sadly last year it rained, so not many people are out. My town is strange though. Some people adore Halloween, and the rest don't bother, so there aren't as many people out as I would appreciate.

I adore to dress up. I still have some fake blood from last year so I think I'll be a zombie. It's pretty rad.

I also adore when people do those "haunted houses" (or garages in my towns case) and they let you in, and it's all decked out. Or when they have those people who look like dolls jump up and scare you. The spirit is fantastic.

Always keep your pumpkin lit people~

I too love Halloween. Last year I did not dress up as anything because I had to work till 9 and afterward I just went home and crashed. (Long day for me) This year tho I plan to go out with one of my friends dressed up as a persona from Persona 4 (I'll be wearing said costume at the NYCC coming up in October. I'm so looking foreword to this year tho. My house always give out the full size candy bars, not the little snack ones. We get all into the holiday. Tho if I don't have the time to decorate it usually doesn't get done. Sad day right? We usually have ghosts hanging from trees, A graveyard, some real and wooden pumpkins, and other little odds and ends me and my dad have made over the years (19 to be exact) well for use anyways. He has been making them longer but since I was born I was around the stuff. I even have a wooden pumpkin made for my first Halloween which every year at least one new item gets added to our collection. It's freakin sweet.

I love love love Halloween!!! I almost like it more than Christmas ^.^
Every year (well for the past 3) I have a party (usually the day before halloween) just in the basement of my parents house. I decorate it all spooky-like, and invite my favorite people. Most of them usually spend all night playing billiards on my pool table, but thats all right. I make creepy snacks, and my friends bring some goods sometimes. We have scary noises in the back ground, and a horror movie on the tv. And for 5-6 hours, life is awesome! *giggles*

This year me and one of my bestest girl friends are going as Greek Goddesses. She's going as this a bit modern-yet still classic Artemis, and I'm taking my own personal twist to make Athena a little more punk- rock.

Halloween is also a holiday where the inner child can come out and play to enjoy the festivities. So go ahead and indulge that inner child.

@Miss SMG ~ You work at a Haunted house?! That sounds cool as shit, and you're a make up artist? That sounds real fun, but I'm sure you must be good, being a make up artist takes a good deal of talent. Cedar Point? Is that in Ohio? In NC at Carowinds, but during Halloween weekend they have it Scarowinds where there is all kinds of Halloween festivities, probably similar to what they do around this time at Cedar Point.

@Krokodil ~ Nothing wrong with living with your parents, times are rough. Figuring out what you're going to dress up as is good at least a month before Halloween arrives so that way you can get the proper materials to make your costume.

@Laila Izuka ~ Well, why haven't you been able to do anything? Maybe if you and Miss SMG lived closer she could hook you up with a job working in a haunted house?

@Idalia Draculi ~ I have worked at a bar for the past three years and the fun part was we got to dress up while serving food and drinks. I think I am just going hang out with some friends go to a haunted house then maybe hit a amusement park. Getting drunk on Halloween is only soewhat fun, I only want to get a good buzz and nothing more.

@SessyMiko ~ YOu can still dress up, don't ignore your inner child. Have fun with your friends, go to a haunted house or an amusement park where they have it halloween themed. You're never too old!!

@Mystic ~ Giving out candy? That sounds fun, and I bet you made that kid's night ehhehehe!! I haven't given out candy in a few years because I have worked aat a bar which was fun too for halloween. Halloween and Saint Patrick's day are the busiest days at a bar.

Xmas to me is really Yule Tide - The tree itself is part of the pagan tradition which was borrowed from.

@Lixliaria ~ Halloween is a special mysterious times where we can cast spells and scare each other. People thought I was a pirate two years ago when i was really boy george. I took my nieces and nephew treating trick or treating one year and it was great, they had lots of fun.

This year I'm having a movie night at one of my friend's house and we're going to watch 'Black Christmas', 'IT' and another film that has just slipped my mind. Apart from that all I'm doing is going to our school Seniour Halloween Disco.

I'm dressing up as Michael Jackson ^^

And yes, I eat so much candy and junk food on halloween I'm suprised I don't pop xD

Hallowe'en is my favourite day, too, although in this area the day tends to be cold, wet and unkind to any make-up one might have on. I don't do much but sit out on the step passing out candy and looking like an ornament, though. I've scared a few people that way. Thankfully they've yet to try and steal me.

Hum... This year, I'm either going to run amok in half-arsed cosplay to see if I can find anyone else out and about doing the same thing, or I'm going to mash together a bunch of my old costumes as per usual and go as some sort of undead Mad Hatter/Black Mage doll thing. The latter would result in the usual sitting out on the step and passing out treats, though. Not that I mind. I like freaking out passers-by when they realize that the weirdly dressed thing on the step is actually not a statue, after all.

As for candy... Barely anyone comes to our house, so we have a lot of left-overs. My mother often buys a lot after the day, too, when it's cheaper. I'm sadly too old to go trick-or-treating, but I would be too paranoid to eat any of it, anyway; last time I actually went door-to-door, the treats I collected were abandoned and left for several months to turn into a sticky mess. I love Halloween. This year I'm thinking of going out and buying a real costume. All my previous costumes were kinda thrown together with junk that we had around the house, this year I think I'll buy a pretty pirate costume or this March Hare costume I saw. I'm excited, except that I'll be house sitting for someone who lives in an apartment. I'm not sure how people who live in apartments handle Halloween. Do they pass out candy? Do I have to go outside??

I'm thinking of just being an angel, I have everything for the costume but it seems so generic.
My other options are Lamia, but that would be really hard to make, The Cheshire cat or the Red Queen. Possibly Harley Quinn but I'd rather do something I have more of an interest in and, too be honest, I don't know that much about old comic heroes and villains.

I love Halloween but I don't get invited enough places for me to put in much effort to making a costume. I'm planning on just going to my Schools dance and having some fun, I'm a little old for trick or treating (unfortunately).

Black Christmas? I have never heard of that one, I think I will have to youtube it or google it. Senior Halloween Disco, sounds kind of cool actually, maybe it will be a Cary themed one lol. Michael Jackson? Cool, make sure you have the hat and the moon gloves! You're teeth would proably fall out first before you popped. lol hehehehehehe!

@Starling Blackwood ~ Sahmain Day? What is that? Some kids get on my nerves too actually, especially ones who have not had the proper parenting. I'm sure it will be an interesting evening for you nevertheless...

@Seaton ~ I never have nor will I ever get any tattoos... something about having art work drawn on my body that will not come off without surgery doesn't quite sit well with me. Oh well, different strokes for different folks.. my partner has tatttoos. Where do you live that you're town is strange where people are either really into it or totally distant from it? Well you don't have to tell me the town, but rather the state. NC is part of the bible belt so go figure. It rained a little last year but not a lot. Zombie is classic, make sure you have someoen good with make up help you and make you look very convincing....BBRRAAAIIINNNSS!!! LOL

@Murphy McMannis ~ That sounds like your family has a good Halloween tradition, that's totally cool! Big bars huh you guys must be loaded!!:O I got to come up there and trick or treat your house then lol. Tell me more about this thing in NYCC (New York City something...?)

@Syranabelle ~ Your own home Halloween party. That's cool, I'm guessing you guys must still be under age since you're at your parents house. No drinking huh? Probably a good thing, I drink some but not to the point anymore. Best to keep the holiday focussed on what it is --- creepy monsters, candy, fun, and good friends. Cool costume idea with the greek themed goddesses and all going modern LOL!!

@Nekojiia ~ Yea, that's what I heard, that it was cheesy, well I think I will watch it too, after all I grew up in the eighties so cheesy shouldn't bother me too much. Really? Just typical monster costumes is what people dress up as? What town or state are you in? We have had people dress up as old ladies, transvestites(a lot of that, I think a lot of guys have secret fantasies to dress up as women, so halloween is a good holiday to do it lol!!) well Nintendo controllers was just one of them. I know a couple of guys one being a white man the other a black man, they both did each others make up and traded races which was really cool.

@Toris ~ Nothing wrong with passing out candy, that can be fun scaring trick or treaters. You can still go if you have a younger brother sister neice or cousin. My mother was really bad about buying lots of candy too back in the day. I guess I should buy some candy too and prepare them for the trick or treators as well-- if I';m home that is. It's also one of my best friend's birthdays as well. You must live in the Washington State or New England area if it's not make up friendly.

@Sho ~ well I would only go to the ones that have their poarch light on. Last minute ideas sometimes are the best-- I usually try to throw something together within the last week before Halloween arrives. I save my money costume wise for teh Renaissance Faire, so I can always be nobility. LOL

@Kistch ~ Are you in high school? Red Queen sounds pretty interesting. Do you have any friends to hang out with? Well you always have us online here;)

Oh heck yes, I love Halloween! :D

I've already said why in another forum, lemme quote it 'cos I'm lazy:

Quote:
Originally Posted by Sephaline View Post

I live for it! I think about it all year long, always thinking up ideas for the next one. Many say I'm obsessed and I tell them that they are correct. I didn't always know that it was so important to me. But one year, I got older and figured that it probably wouldn't be such a good idea to go Trick-Or-Treating anymore when I was taller than everyone in my neighborhood that still went around the street collecting candy. So my neighbor invited me to come give out candy, but also work the fog machine from inside the house. I wore a (very BAD) cosplay-ish costume of Ayeka from Tenchi Muyo, but that's not the point (and I'm never doing that again). I saw people react to the fog when I turned it on right as they stood near it. And suddenly it hit me:

I. LOVE. TO. SCARE. :insane:

It was one of the greatest feelings I had ever felt before.
I never scare small children of course, but the bigger ones are fair game. >8D

Ever since then, when my neighbor isn't too busy, I go over to her house on Halloween to scare the absolute CRAP out of people. She comes up with the theme since it's her house, but I never care as long as I can do something. One year, she was too busy to do anything so I got the idea to dress up like a scarecrow, complete with face-paint resembling a pumpkin's face, in the front yard and stand still until after the visitors collect their goodies, then POUNCE! It became one of my fondest memories. = w =
Especially since one boy ran away from me in fear, but later came back with his parents. From what I could hear, his parents didn't believe his story about being chased by a scarecrow so he wanted to show them. I grinned to myself and got an idea. I just stood still, no matter what he did. He was too scared to come very close to me anyway. So his parents still didn't believe him and started to leave. But as they all turned around I moved very slowly, turned to face the boy and waved. I went back to my "innocent prop" routine as the boy screamed to his parents, "THERE! IT MOVED! DID YOU SEE?!" Apparently, they did not see me turn around, which was not my intention, but it made it all the more priceless. XD

This year, my neighbor says she wants to do an Alice in Wonderland theme. I asked to be my favorite character, the Cheshire Cat, and she said that I could.

I can't wait! ;)
So yes. That's about everything. Oh except that my favorite color is orange because of my obsession and when I see it together with black I enter my spazz mode. Candy Corn is also very delicious to me and anything pumpkin related will cause me to explode with flavor-joy. One last thing I should mention is the thrill I get when I feel the first wind of Autumn and I sense that Jack is near (not Tim Burton Jack, even though I love that movie- no, I mean the original Jack >:3). Finally, I will gladly accept any Halloween decorations even after it's over.

Halloween is my dad's birthday, and he always gets the best cakes! They're decorated with ghosts, pumpkins, witches, bats, black cats, spiders, tombstones, haunted houses, everything!
