I don't think skydiving in general is very safe, so I wouldn't advise a pregnant woman to go skydiving. Though I have to say, I didn't think you could go skydiving when pregnant...

Well..........considering you shouldn't even ride a roller coaster while pregnant........I go with no, it's not safe.

And imagine if your parachute failed.

Preeeetty sure they wouldn't let you skydive to begin with, if you're pregnant. Let's get a pregnant woman's perspective!

siaasgn: Would you skydive, even though you're pregnant?

I actually went skydiving when I was about 3 weeks pregnant :oops:

I had found out I was pregnant the day I left to go to New Zelanad - and I had 3 main goals while there - 1. drink lots of wine on winery tours, 2. attend the wedding I went there to be in, and 3. skydive.

I cut out the drinking part of my plans but I still went skydiving (and I was at the wedding too).

On the paperwork they have you fill out before you can skydive they recommend in more than one place to not skydive if you are pregnant or think you are pregnant. I chose to do it anyway - it seems pretty callous but at that time the pregnancy just wasn't really real to me since I had only found out a few days before I went skydiving.

At this point I would definitely not do it - actually I probably wouldn't do it once I confirmed I was actually pregnant and had told anyone (I had not had a doctor appointment and had not told anyone that I was pregnant)

Do I regret doing it- no - it was the most amazing expreience ever. Do I hope and pray I didn't fuck my kid up by doing it- yes, for sure.

@siaasgn

I hope not too! Although skydiving does sound fun, in a thrilling peemypantsI'msoscared way, I don't think I could ever do it. Pregnant or not :XD

I wouldn't be comfortable sky diving not pregnant...and if I knew I was pregnant I don't think I would be allowed to in the first place. But ya..not a great idea. Would probably be pretty harmful on the baby.

I think the biggest risk is causing a miscarriage in the early months - and then as the baby develops into an actual fetus and not just a blob of cells you run the risk of hurting the kid and causing a miscarriage or dislodging the placenta.

Inso wants to throw me out of plane... I don't think I'm ready for that yet. I'm flubby so I'd probably bounce if I hit the ground (then again maybe just a big splat, lol)

I think since sia went early on it's fine but closer to term I'd say um no, probably not.

If you have a prominent bump, I don't think it's safe. :/ My climbing teacher is pregnant and just watching her climb up a high element makes me nervous. Then again, if there's no rules against it then is can't be too dangerous.
