I just saw this huge squirrel that's been living around our apartment. I was wondering where he'd been...
I used to go outside every day to visit a big green spider that lived in my mom's cucumber plants. I called him Gary. I also had little names for the stray cats in my grandma's neighborhood. As of now, though, it's just the squirrel.
Do you have any animals that live in your area (that are not pets) that you see on a regular basis? Do you like them or maybe even give them names?

Not really. But I'm not fond of squirrels >_>
I was walking to the school to pick up my sister one day, and I stopped at this tree. There was a cute little baby squirrel in the branch and I wanted to take a picture of it. Every time I raised my camera it moved :gonk: So I turned to leave...and I felt something hit the back of my head.
The little bugger had thrown an acorn at me! So now I stay away from animals that aren't mine :gonk:

XD That's adorable, though... We got chased by some squirrels at Disney. There was a baby who kept following us; we weren't really sure if he was just curious or trying to scare us away, so we didn't stick around. The mother was in a tree, watching and inching closer. Kind of scary.

I have a male and female squirrel that tease my dogs. Every time the squirrels are int eh yard when the dogs are out they run down the tree when the dogs are ont he other side of the yard and wait until the last minute to get into a tree or onto the fence. It's like they tease the dogs. There's a pair of young squirrels that hang out in my yard too that the dogs could probably catch since it's been close a few times. They don't know any better I don't think.

There was once, when my girlfriend and I went to the zoo. The birds are free to roam and fly around, so as we walked along the little riverbed in the zoo, there were some cute little duckies! One duck followed us around for awhile. My girlfriend would quack at it and it would start flapping :XD Ducks = Cute. Squirrels = Evil.

Squirrels seem to have so much character...
There also used to be a pair of Canada geese that came and camped out in my neighbor's yard every year. It was pretty cute. Other than that, though, geese have only existed to poop everywhere and bite me. > n>

Oh, I almost forgot about this duck we had living in our little pool this summer too. I live close to the water and had this pool set up that was about three feet deep by six feet wide and I had the cutest mallard duck come in and stay pretty much through the summer in my yard. She'd follow me around and everything to try to mooch food off me. XD

I've always wanted to touch a squirrel... but any time they let me get close, I get scared and think they're going to attack me. D: But it would still be neat if I could leave food out and watch him eat. Unfortunately, every time I see our squirrel, some children come outside and scare him away.

There haven't been any strays or anything in a while. But when I first moved into my house there were two little kittens under the front step, we weren't sure where they'd come from. So I decided I was going to name them Laser and Emy. I used to go out there and feed them. But I'm guessing they grew up and ventured out because they aren't there anymore.

We have a couple of squirrels that always visit our backyard birdfeeder to swipe the sunflower seeds. Sometimes they're perfectly friendly with the birds and just sit on the ground below the feeder eating seeds and waiting for more to fall down. Other times they get territorial and do a little "birdie bowling"--they dash toward the crowd of birds on the ground by the feeder and make them all fly away, then repeat when the birdies come back. XD Lately, I guess because they're now trying their hardest to put on weight for the cold months, they don't even run off completely when I let my dog out. They just climb up on the feeder's pole, or on the birdbath, and chatter and flap their tails at her until she comes in again. Brave little things!
