Shots in the hip/butt area hurt like heck! :cry:

I take it you recently got one of the aforementioned shots?

Well it's the truth and yeah had to get one today or yesterday not sure what to call it. :?

I used to poke myself on accidents with needles when I was a vet. I also have a lot of blood drawn due to an illness I have so needles in general really do not bother me as much as they used it.

I've only ever been prodded in various parts of my arm with needles, but I can imagine that it'd really hurt in the hip/leg... Blood tests and injections don't bother me as long as I don't watch the needle going in; if I do, I'll flinch away. But once the needle's in, I like seeing my blood collect in the little vial. /creeper

Shots don't really bother me that much, and I can look at the needle and not care at all. I've actually accidentally gave myself a shot before when I was 5 and fooling around at a hospital (running down the hallways, going in to rooms instead of waiting in the waiting room like a good girl) and the shot didn't even bother me, but apparently it was a flu shot for older people so they had to do this whole thing do get the vaccine out of my bloodstream and put in the right shot...

The last time I went to an pediatric with my family for my little brother to get a shot, (he's eight) and he started screaming bloody murder before he even got the shot. xD So he was rolling around on the floor trying to kick the doctor , then he started crying, and the nurse tried to take his shirt off so they could take a shot and he bit her O.o Then he was like, red all over and screaming like a girl and crying like a baby. Looool it was sooo funny to watch and I was cracking up with my older brother in a corner and I took a video of it with my phone xD My dad and like 8 other doctors had to hold him down to let the nurse take the shot and then when she finally did my little brother started dry heaving and threw up on the floor. O.o yeah the ending was gross.

I don't really mind shots or needles. My sister on the other hand is deathly afraid of them. I always have to go hold her hand whenever she gets one. Doesn't help that the nurses at our doctor's office are really snotty.

I refuse to let doctors touch me. At all. Doesn't even matter if they have needles or not, I'm just generally creeped out by doctors because I've watched too many movies where the doctor ends up killing the patient. Not cool.
Needles do happen to bother me quite a bit though, because I was tramatized by them when I was little.
We lived in England so when I ran screaming it was in french...so instead of "get away from me you creepy doctor man!"
It was: "s'éloigner de moi, vous l'homme médecin creepy!"
Pretty funny stuff actually, my mum has videos of me screaming in french:)

Yeah, I'm not so good with doctors in general. I've watched movies where the doctor either kills or rapes the patient O.o Weirdest movies ever. And nurses...don't even get me started on what they do in some movies.

And the french screaming thing sounds funny :D

I'm only afraid of shots horrible, horrible shots.

I don't mind them as long as I can watch them being done. It's when they sneak up on me or try to distract me when they're doing them that I get irritated.

Have you ever gotten a rabies shot?
Those go into the muscles in your abdomen and they're HUGE needles and you have to get like 3 of them, I think.

One of my friends got bitten by a rabid animal and had to get a rabies shot. Pretty scary stuff.

I can't watch at all. I have anxiety issues.

i got bit by a pitbull and had to get rabies shots, and it's way worse than three shots in the stomach.

i had to visit three times, and got six shots each time.
one in each arm, one in each leg, and two in the abdomen.

So if your friend got off THAT LUCKY, I'm gonna be pissed.

The title of the topic made me curious to check this thread out and the first post made me LOL!

But yeah, I have got to agree that they hurt! I think the last time I got a shot in the butt was when I was 12. I told the doctor that I'd rather have it in the butt so I couldn't actually see it. Rather than have it on my arm. It was funny though because I couldn't see it, it had hurt more because I wasn't aware of when he had stuck the needle in. Though I've never gotten a shot at the hip area before. I figure that would hurt more? Since its nearer to the bone... Not too sure.
