How do you spend your holidays? Do you visit the family? Does the family visit you? Do you sit home and stuff your face with holiday chocolate?
I'm curious to know how everyone is spending this holiday season=]

Personally, I celebrate Christmas, so on Christmas eve, my mother, my sister, my moms boyfriend, and myself all drive to my grandmothers house in Sedona and open the gifts from my cousins and my grandparents. We have a nice dinner and play games and sing carols. We have the fire going and the dogs are there too. Then we go home and open our gifts (that are always pajamas) from our parents (my sister and I) and then go to bed. The next morning, I wake up at 7, run across the hall to my sisters room and wake her up, then we both run to my moms room and wake my mom and Scott up. My sister and I both go through our stockings as my mom and Scott make egg panacagas for breakfast. After we eat, we sort presents and begin opening.

I love the holiday season because I get to spend time with my family and I get to see my cousins who I don't get to see very often. =]

I Do my Yule Rituals and then celebrate Christmas with my family. We all gather around in the living room and open gifts then we usually sit around and eat and get fat. then the next day we go shopping with our giftcards we got and our money we get. That usually goes on all day long. Then i go hang out with my friends till break is over then go back to school feeling a little down that break is over with.

My Sister, Bro-in-law and their 4 boys arrived yesterday, they'll be staying for a week or so. We've spent most of today cooking and preparing stuff for tomorrow. At about 11:30pm (2 hours from now) they'll all go to midnight mass, I'll stay here with my dog and keeping a listen out for the youngest two boys (they're three years old, so midnight mass is too late for them) and I'll make some mulled wine, get some snacks ready and warm up some mince pies. When they get back at about half past midnight, we'll eat, drink and chat for a bit.
Tomorrow morning we'll be getting the rest of the food ready. My best friend, his wife, son and their Japanese student, my godmother and her 2 nieces who are visiting from South Africa and hopefully (if she's recovered from flu) my other godmother and her husband will come over about 11:30 - noon for lunch. We'll eat at about 1. Finish in time for the Queen's Speach around 3pm, then about 3:30 or so we'll do the presents and stockings :) Probably eat lots of snacks throughout the afternoon and hopefully have the TV off (after the Queen). I hate it when people come over and just sit here watching TV, but it tends to happen eventually >.<
We normally do things differently and have more of a crowd going to midnight mass and coming back after, but it's really icy out and my bro-in-law's the only one of us with a 4x4, so the others won't make it tonight ._. Luckily he'll be able to pick them up tomorrow, if they couldn't all make it, it would feel really wrong.

I go to grandmas and unwrap presents... and help cook some Hors d'oeuvre before that. Basically, we sit around and snack and open presents and talk... then it gets to the point where I walk home and get on the computer/wii/xbox. Lol. My mom has a new boyfriend so we've been having a lot of christmases this week. @- @ It's been a little overwhelming, actually!

This year we are pretty much doing the same thing as last year. My family is gonna wake up early in the morning (probably about eight or so, maybe earlier depending on how early the others wake up). Then we are going to wait half an hour for my dad to crawl outta bed and make it into the family room (he isn't overly fond of Christmas, and some other holidays, so he obviously isn't in any hurry to rush outta bed). Then we open gifts and sit around going through our stuff. And later in the day we are gonna go to my step brother's house for dinner where the rest of the family is. Usually I just sit around drawing or something seeing as I can't really relate to that many people in my family (/ family friends). Though we will probably end up playing some game of sorts later after dinner, and after some other people have departed -3-.

But tomorrow I will probably spend some time helping my step mom prepare part of dinner, and the desserts that go with it >o<

This year I am not doing anything. I am not going to the family gathering, no gifts, nothing. I do not see the point in celebrating a religious holiday when I do not believe in "Jesus" or "God" to begin with. I also hate how commercial Christmas is. Not to mention that most of my extended family just annoys the hell out of me and I rather just not spend time with them and enjoy the day that I have off of work to myself.

Usually we go to Georgia and North Carolina and go skiing. I'm sad we didn't this year. Christmas in Florida with hot weather just doesn't seem festive, or something. :( But yeah, it used to be we'd spend Christmas there with my grandparents and sometimes other family members would come. Sometimes my boyfriend would come too. This year we did it at home, because things are complicated now that my granddad died last year and my parents felt like there was no room in the car for my grandma since she can't drive all that way on her own. And my cat is old and she didn't want him to get sick in the kennel. So my mom is making this big dinner and inviting friends over.
