I sleep in my bras a lot actually. e we;;
Unfortunately my boobs are big and floppy and get in my way a lot otherwise.
lololol~

Aimless.Wanderer 02-11-2011 12:14 AM

wow I never knew this at all!! I thought it was for when you gained or lost weight on it or something. They should start putting that on the label, and if they do, I'm sorry I'm not caught up :P But that is really interesting thanks a lot for the info!! ^^

Q U E E N 02-11-2011 12:45 AM

Oh, that! I learned about that 2 weeks ago because my friend works at Victoria's Secret (Luucky girl, buys bras without the workers distracting her) I get at least 1 new bra every week...I dunno, I think it's because I love all different types and colors and designs and such? ^^; I can't sleep in a bra...makes me feel itchy. I could take my bra off without taking my shirt off a long time ago, it's the result of having to change your shirt in front of guys at a dance studio when they were renovating everything. xD

I have mostly back-clasp bras, but the front-clasp ones are sturdier and easier to open. Has anyone ever tried on a bra with laces instead of hooks? They leave marks, because if you don't tighten them enough, they loosen up...

Clair Voyant 02-11-2011 12:47 AM

I was told this when I bought my first bra from the saleswoman... :O

Lorika 02-11-2011 08:19 PM

I think a lot of women (such as myself) never actually go and see professional bra fitters, so this kind of information just doesn't reach us.

Keyori 02-12-2011 03:41 PM

Yeah, my mom didn't ever tell me anything about bras. I got my first one just by trying some on in a fitting room at wal-mart. If my boobs got too big, I'd just go up a cup size.

It wasn't until I had some really bad problems with digging that I finally went to a professional fitter. That and the fact that my size is extremely uncommon and can only be found in specialty stores anyway.

Lorika 02-12-2011 05:53 PM

I think when I was first starting out I mistakenly wore a cup size up for a while on my mother's expert advice, and it took me a looong time to figure out that something was wrong. XD

There's this underwear company over here called La Senza that cater to women as big as you, Key!~ I know because I buy from them all the time, and they're always flaunting their ranges of DD+ bras. But then I guess they're specialty too.

Keyori 02-12-2011 06:04 PM

Well it's not even necessarily that the cup size is rare, it's just rare for my band size.

Example: I could find, say a 40DD in a store like Wal-Mart, easy. But you'd be hard pressed to find a 34DD. Heck, even finding a 34D (when I could still wear those) was difficult, and basically you had to look for it it the first week they put that particular line of bras out for the season. That's when I started going to Fredrick's of Hollywood, since they carried more sizes (and I'm not really a fan of Victoria's Secret... I think they cater to girls much younger than me). Fredrick's even sized me, but their training isn't very extensive, so I was still getting the wrong size.

I do miss the styles that Fredrick's had though. Gave me some awesome cleavage, but they didn't really stay in place. The place I go to now is called Ann's Bra Shop and Mastectomy Center.

Great.. now I gotta fix mine.. oh well, it can wait till my husband gets home, my hands are too cold to touch my skin.

I grew up watching my mom take her bra off under her clothes, and I learned to do it.

I can't stand the ones with the wire in them. They leave massive red marks under my breasts. I go for the wireless ones.

I also sleep with my bra on. I feel WAY to vulnerable with out one.

My husband can take my bra off with no problem, he also helps fasten it after I get out of the tub.

Estrella 02-12-2011 10:52 PM

I TOTALLY KNEW THIS! *feels smart*

Doesn't mean I follow it, though.

I just went bra shopping. I bought a red one and a black lace one. Oh yeah, it's hot stuff.
Make me feel sexy. I have pretty small boobs though. I always see cleavage and wonder if I can get my NEARLY B cup to do that. I've found that I can't.

----------

Also, I don't sleep in bras 'cause that'd be incredibly uncomfortable.
Probably helps since I have tiny bewbs and there's not a whole lot to hide.

I prefer to buy padded ones because [tmi moment] my nipples feel the slightest breeze and I'm suddenly smuggling diamonds underneath my shirt and everyone knows it.

Aspinou 02-12-2011 11:00 PM

Wow, Epic knowledge!!! O.O

I hate bra's cause I can never really find any that fits properly >.<
I'm probably disproportional or something.

I prefer ones without, they're mor comfy and ehh more free. And I mostly don't care who see's my nipples. xD

Keyori 02-12-2011 11:13 PM

Oh, by the way, I think the word you're looking for is "disproportional." Close enough!

Aspinou 02-12-2011 11:17 PM

Oh thank you, great I learned a new word today. ^_^

Haha, it's so awful! I'm sure most guys wouldn't mind but SERIOUSLY.
It probably wouldn't matter as much if I wore looser shirts?

But then without the padding, I'd feel vulnerable, anymore since I've worn padded bras for the longest time.

Tsundere 02-13-2011 08:02 AM

I JUST GOT LEARNED.

B-but what if you only wear...push-up bras? The clasp settings in the front are to adjust the...pushy-uppiness, right?

The Wandering Poet 02-13-2011 10:33 AM

 Showed my fiancee this and she was like "Really? *stares at screen*"

I actually have no idea. I don't have any experience with push-up bras that clasp in the front.

If there are any front-clasping-push-up-bra experts toddling around here, please answer zis question! ^

It's mindblowing, isn't it? =D

Keyori 02-13-2011 05:29 PM

@Strelly: I don't think that'd matter... I wear pretty loose t-shirts and I can show through those if it's cold enough. xD If it's like a sweatshirt or something though, I don't show through that.

@Tsunedere: I would assume it's the same thing... so that as the elastic wears out, you don't loose the pushy-uppy-ness of the bra. xD

Estrella 02-13-2011 07:10 PM

Key - Haha, yeah, I can get away with looser shirts 'cause I've got small boobs.
But if I moved too much, it'd be visible again.

I've never had a front claspy push up bra.
I wonder if that would give me cleavage?! WHERE DOES ONE BUY THIS SORT OF BRA?

Anywhere you buy bras. They give you decent cleavage if you're like me and really have nothing there... >:

Estrella 02-13-2011 08:34 PM

I'm a "nearly B" cup.
I tried on a couple of wonder bras this last time.
And they just didn't fit right on me.

I haven't fond a bra yet that could give me cleavage.

Arumaixana 02-13-2011 11:16 PM

Push up bras FAIL for me D: I haven't tried on that many, but usually they do the WEIRDEST things to my boobs XD and WOAH that is simply mindblowing. I just wear it on the smallest cuz I'm skinny XDD I tend to wear them a bit looser then I should, but I'm A-cup so I an get away with it XD I also can't wear bras to bed. I did once and had to get up in the middle of the night to take it off (under my shirt, like a ninja so my friends tell me)

Estrella 02-14-2011 12:21 AM

Aru - Haha, mine too. I get "triangle boobs" with some pushup bras. Or the cups have this gap that my shirts like to tuck itself into. It's ridiculous.
