What are some of your least favorite fashion trends of the past 20 years? (1990-2011)
Feel free to provide photos, but please do not only post photos.
One of my least favorite fashion trends ever was the Shutter Shade trend.
I mean, sure it's interesting looking...But how can you really see through those?
And while it's interesting, it's only interesting because it's just so goofy looking, you know? XP It looks like you're almost pretending your face is a house, and your eyes are the windows...
And personally I'd rather use colorful framework, rather than hide my eyes.
I mean, really hiding your eyes like that looks a little sketchy... What are you tryin' to hide?!
Another trend that makes me lol is the "sack dress" trend, I'm not sure if that's the right name for it, but this is a picture:
Aren't clothes supposed to be good looking and compliment you? @___@!

Canada Goose jackets:

Don't get me wrong they are great jackets and are insanely warm. It is just every single person on my campus has them...the poor geese.

I'm not one that really cares about fashion, but there are a few things that make me think "WTF?! Why would you where that" when I see a picture of someone. I really just hate the uberly goofy looking fashion clothing and accessories that just don't look right on people. And usually it's popular goofy stuff (like those shutter shades). I guess I'll never understand fashion and why some ridiculous stuff gets popular (minus the celebrity affect).

right now, Sora really only thinks of one item of clothing and it's this really bad shirt for girls.
Sora couldn't find a picture, but their shirts that have spaghetti straps with something that outlines the boobs and lets the rest of the shirt kinda drift.
to Sora, it looked like maternal clothes even when skinny girls wore them and Sora just hated those shirts with a PASSION >.<

Oh my God. Shutter shades are the most stupid thing ever. I mean, what protection do they offer and can you see in them?
For me, the ultimate fail trend was when people started pushing the lenses out of 3D glasses and using them as 'nerd-wear'.
I actually wear thick black glasses and some emo's said: Dude, you're doing it wrong!
I'm like: No, actually, i have to wear these to see?

Those have always kind of bothered me, though I have seen a few people actually make them look nice without looking pregnant. X3 Just not usually.

Uggs and crocs are pretty much the only 'fashion' that annoy me to no end.
If someone wears shutter shades, while it looks stupid, it means I can probably smack 'em without them being too aware of it coming. That's always satisfying. Of course, I only smack those I'm close to... not complete strangers... even if I want to.
Oh, oh, I just thought of something. Unless you're a performer/on a stage (I believe performers are exempt from fashion fax pas/etc while they're doing their job) or something... Leggings. As. Pants. Are. Annoying. As. Hell.

I mean, what the eff? They weren't meant to be pants because they're /not/ pants. They're thin and all elastic-y... it's almost like wearing stockings as pants. Makes no sense... so frigging annoying. Under a bit of a shorter dress, sure; with a longer shirt/tunic top... no, just no; with shorts over top, sure, why not, I know someone who does. Just... gah.

LOL I'm actually guilty of that look xD
But I always wear leggings under a skirt or under a long shirt/dress.
Wearing it with just a t-shirt looks really odd. It is pretty stupid looking when you think about it.
I'm also guilty of wearing UGGs. I use to think they were stupid but BOY ARE THEY COMFY!! They're my winter footwear :3
As for fashions that annoy me:

CROCS - self explanatory

SILLY BANDZ - why??

ANDDDD - Popped collars

There are plenty of fashion things that irritate me to no end.
Crocs

Sure, they're comfortable, but you look ridiculous. Honestly, take them off and deal with your feet hurting.
Uggs

Just as ugly as crocs and they look stupid with the styles people put with them.
Shutter Shades

No. Just no.
"Nerd" glasses

People used to be ridiculed for wearing these glasses for a reason. They're thick and annoying. It's not made for fashion, it's made for eyesight.
Silly Bandz

First off, adding a "z" instead of an "s" isn't cute, or "random". It's a rubber band with a shape that is making the creator filthy rich. It looks stupid and I hate them.
Animal Print Hair Clipons

Adding this to your hair makes it look like your mother participated in beastiality. Just quit.

Me, my least favorite trend is probably low-rise jeans. >.> I mean, honestly, I have to keep pulling them up for the sake of my dignity, but I guess that showing your underwear is 'cute' nowadays. *shudder* That scares me to no end. Unfortunately, those are the only jeans I can find, really, so I'm always wearing long-ish shirts. I swear, that's all that the jean companies make anymore. >.> Will they realize that not every person wants to show off their butt? It doesn't look good on guys or girls!
Also, Shuttershades? I'm on the neutral stand here, but I honestly don't see the practicality in them. They don't really even look good, they're just... I don't really know how to put it. >.> I know that if I wore them, I'd be walking into six walls in one day.
Uggs, however, look comfortable. Not that I'd wear them in public. I mean, you wouldn't wear your slippers going out on the town, would you? I don't see why you should do that with Uggs, because in my eyes, they are basically slippers. >.>

Hahaha, I love uggs. They're soooo comfy and warm. * w*
And also fluffy.
But yes, they are ugly as shit.
...xD They're not slippers though, they're more like winter weather boots.
They're incredibly durable if taken care of, and they're very water resistant, again, if taken care of. xD
I mean, they're freakin' HIDE. xD
Also, I do agree that those leggings-as-pants things are incredibly ugly.
No one wants to see that cameltoe.

I wear leggings under a particularly short dress too. I only wear them under a shirt if I'm lounging, and that's a long shirt... or sweater. Definitely not something to wear out side... not even to run to the corner store.
I completely forgot about Silly Bandz. They're not all too big anywhere I frequent. I don't get it. I could sort of understand the gel bracelets - I even had some - but the Bandz just look terrible. o-O You can't really tell the shape when they're on your wrist. They just look a mess. Unless it's... I don't know... for a rave outfit, otherwise just no. Blarg.
I admit that I wouldn't mind a pair of crocs for gardening. But I also wear torn and patched together clothes while gardening. Stuff that I wouldn't dare wear anywhere else unless I'm purposely trying to look like a run-down homeless lady.
I'm not a fan of the guys wearing skinny jeans either... Or the combination of skinny jeans and "hey-look-at-my-boxers."
(Scratch that - couldn't find a decent picture. Use your imagination?)
This is the best I could find to illustrate. I've seen it in person. Anyone want to trade the odd-ball's with the Silly Bandz for the what-the-heck's in skinny jeans that are purposely falling down? o-o
As for makeup on guys. I'm not against it. Some guys need lessons though. o-O
Oh, on the topic of makeup - coon eyes. It's not pretty people. To me it looks like someone doesn't know how to put on eyeliner, which, while fine (anyone who wears makeup had to start somewhere, sometime), shouldn't be a fad of any sort. Though... it has been tapering off here. Does makeup count as fashion?

I wear Croc style shoes for work. XD They're actually kitchen shoes and have a non slip bottom on them and they're waterproof. They are awesome to wear on ice too because they don't slide and they do not get wet. I make fun of myself all the time for wearing them because they do look quite dumb.
Other trends that I can't stand are jeggings. Leggings in general should not be worn as pants. They just make all the fat look ten times worse than it is. Ultra short mini skirts are nasty in my opinion too. If you can see your butt, do not wear it! I don't care how how someone is, if they're wearing something like that they're automatically nasty in my opinion. Tunics are another thing. They make most people look like they're pregnant. Also anything that looks like lingerie for outer wear is a no no in my book as well. i dislike most things that are trending in street fashion right now. People really will follow any trend that is put out in front of them.
I almost forgot about stirrup pants! How the heck did those even come back into style?! I remember wearing those in the early 90's and cutting the darn straps off the bottom of them because they were so annoying.

The jackets and purses/bags from the Victorias Secret PINK collection.
I mean.. It's not the actual item themselves, it's the label on them that bugs me.
because it's from Victorias Secret...a lingerie store. Lingerie
And all the girls I see wearing the PINK jackets and whatnot are all either morbidly fat, or just...disgusting caked with makeup. And when I see the PINK stuff, all I can picture is the kind of sexy underwear they buy and wear. I don't like imagining you in your sexy underwear, because you look like a grody makeup'd cow. :l Please don't advertise your skivvies.

Depending on the corset, I don't mind them too much if they're layered like that and look okay. XD I had one back when I used to wear a lot of costumes that my ex made to layer over the top of a shirt for a ren fest outfit. I loved it although I was horribly uncomfortable in it. XD
I was more referring to some of those lacy tops that girls wear and some "skirts" or "shorts". It's like "Put some clothes on!" XD

uggs are just plain...Ugh. But the shutter shades don't make any sense. Whats so cool about shutter shades? They make your face look wierd or something, or is it just me hating them with a passion. Oh, I also heard that Uggs were likie made by a man or something o.o just to let you know. I hate skinny jeans to no end in sight. Yes, they are cute if you wear it with some kind of long shirt or something. But I hate them because they make it look like it is meant for skinny people, and not everyone has the fashion model type body. I, for example, am not skinny or fat, but my thighs look like you stuck a inflater and inflated them like balloons. Everything else looks just normal. I knew people were stereotypical, but now people are making clothes stereotypical, too?? It annoys me to death.

To the people who keep saying that shutter shades look like they're hard to see out of, they're actually really easy. I know, I was surprised too. o:
it's like if you put your finger up to your eye. You can still see, but there's a weird thing in your vision. As long as you keep both of your eyes open while wearing them, you can still function pretty well. They're a little distracting when you first put them on because your eyes keep wanting to go to the dark spots, but after a few minutes you get used to it and it doesn't bother you. xD;
I had a pair in 6th grade. ;n;
