Havent technically encountered it...but I know the restaurant I work at is haunted. And the only reason we can say that is because we've actually watched the lightswitch(the only one for that set of lights) not move, while the lights turn on and off as if someone was slowly turning them on and off. There have been multiple other things, like knives going missing when nobody touches them, and they are left in the same spot they are supposed to be. Other items just showing up when you need them, without you(or anyone else) grabbing them from their storage location.

I worked in nursing care home when I was 18 and saw a ghost on one of my last night shifts there. I was carrying a load of soiled linen and remember seeing this young man staring at me. I freaked ran into the sluice dumped the linen in the linen skip then closed my eyes walked straight past the spot where I saw him to the room I was working in which luckily was straight as the crow flies in front of me. About five years later I was talking to a guy and I happened to mention I had worked in that particular nursing home and he said he saw the ghost of a young man there.

A few years ago, I woke up to see a shadow person standing across the room from me in the middle of the night. When I looked at him, he turned and walked very quickly across the room and disappeared into the shadows.

That's the only time I've actually seen a ghost, but I used to have paranormal experiences frequently in my house; shadows would appear to be moving around under doors and I would open the door to find no one in the room, my friends and I would hear tapping noises, etc. For a while, there seemed to be some sort of negative energy around my bedroom and parts of my basement, but fortunately none of us ever encountered any actual entities. I think it was most likely a poltergeist, considering it was when I was around thirteen or fourteen and was depressed and negative most of the time as a result of being bullied and such at school constantly. Luckily, everything's gone pretty much back to normal in the past year or so.

I also had some extremely weird experiences last year for a while when I was somewhat involved with the occult and such, but no actual encounters. Which really kind of surprises me, to be honest. I'm glad that I got away from a lot of that last year. >.>

I've also done some paranormal investigating, and I did have one interesting experience in an old building. I was using an EMF meter, and it began to go off. Around the same time, another member of the group actually saw a shadow person going into the room I was in when the meter went off.

I have a friend who likes to photograph old buildings in hopes of seeing ghosts. She went to Centralia Pennsylvania once (the 'real' Silent Hill) and also to Waverly Hills Sanotorium in Kentucky.

when I was little I was getting ready for my bath in my moms room (my room which was directly across the hall didn't have a working lightbulb and I was terrorfied of the dark then) when I looked into the hall which was sort of L shaped but with room at the bottom for the stairwell and an old man was looking at me (I had clothes on lol). He had a longish beard, was a smokey varying grey, was wearing a checkered shirt, and looked weathered. I looked away and looked back and he was gone.

I didn't take a bath that night.

My best friend and I have an encounter a few years ago. We didn't see a figure or a ghostly person. But while we were hiding in the locker rooms off of the gym at our school, just chatting. In mid-sentence, my best friend stops talking and held up her hand to me as if to gesture to me to be quiet. When I asked what was wrong, she said she thought she heard someone else in the locker room (everyone was at lunch- but we didn't want to get caught). We started looking around the locker room and found that it was empty. I asked her to explain to me what she heard and she went to the one little bathroom area of the locker room to show me. In the schools in this area, they have these really old metal contraption for paper towel dispensers. You first have to press this metal button, which makes a really loud metallic sound, then you have to turn this metal handle, which makes a really loud metallic grinding sound.

She demonstrated to me what she was hearing, by pressing the button and turning the crank- but there were no towels in the machine and no one was there to have turned it. We both shrugged and went to leave, but as we were leaving, we turned to see just in time, the button pushing itself in (as if someone's thumb was there) and the crank turning insanely fast all by itself. It was actually very terrifying. There is no way to explain the crank moving like that on its own. No breeze or draft can push a metal button in and turn a handle.

We told our teacher about it, and she told us that there are rumors that the school has been haunted for years... but that was the only ghostly experience we had there.

The ghost of my grandfather actually lives in my house. He's not scary, though. He just fixes things, and occasionally plays with my printer. :P He's really nice.

The light flickering could just be faulty electrical wiring....o 3o;; You should probably get that checked out, it could cause a fire. D8

I've never actually had an otherworldly encounter. But I have talked to them. I'm pretty strong with a Ouija board.
