3. A Higher Authority to force Marriages
Of course, there are limits to the amount of motivation and fairness that young people will voluntarily adopt. Too many families have been raising too many children with too many different ideals and goals. At the end of the day, some individuals will need external pressure far more than mere motivation.

If the parents will not enforce our goals, we must turn to our pastors, and if pastors are not willing to take drastic measures, we will have to find even higher authorities that will. These are deperate times, and while this is the most contraversial aspect of No Girl Left behind, we are confident that eventually parents will come to realize that these wonderful ends do justify the slightly uncomfortable means.

I'm so amazed by this I'm not sure whether to laugh or to take it seriously. And now that I read it closer, it is littered with grammar and spelling errors. This propels me to simply laugh at it.

I'm absolutely disgusted. Marriage is a choice you make, not an obligation, not a need. A choice that may or may not be the one for you. =___='

To prevent any girl being left behind, no girl shall be asked for multiple times until each girl in her district has been asked for once. Every young lady asked shall be given 10 business days to respond (if she files late, it shall be assumed that she has accepted). If it is deemed that too many applications have been rejected, the young lady must wear a scarlet "P" to indicate to future suiters that she is picky.

I think I understand their basis, maybe. It would be wonderful to live in a Utopia where people saw beauty in all. But to force women and men to marry at young ages? And to put a cap on how many times you can reject a proposal, or propose to someone else?

I rather like my freedom of choice, thank you.

My sister got me first, and I was sure it was real because of how much work looks to have been put into it, but then I found that little blurb and was rather relieved

The sad thing is though, I DO know people who agree with the site not realizing it's a joke.

BUT! The one clue that really stands out to me is the "scarlet P" as a warning that she is "picky".
Hundreds of years ago, if a woman was found to be an adulterous, she wore a scarlet "A" to tell everyone of her sin (read "The Scarlet Letter")... that's the main thing that stands out to me that this is a prank.

God Phoebe! I didn't look past the first page so I didn't even know it was a joke and I was sitting here going "Holy crap...there are people who still have hope chests???"

Most importantly: because marriage is the norm, all young women are naturally entitled to marriage. The denial of this right is an injustice; a wrong that must be righted.

If this were a real site...they would NEVER say I should be allowed to marry a woman. NEVER.

While it's disturbing on some sort of weird level, that is the sort of thing that I'd send to some of the people that have the same kind of dark humor as I do. >.<
