I don't know about you guys, but I'm always curious about what everyone's accents are like. Chatting with you all online is great, but it's nothing compared to hearing your voices! What do you sound like? Do you have a cool accent? Do you pronounce your words all funny?

Today I ran into a meme that combines a couple of words that commonly change pronunciation depending on where you live, as well as some things that have quite a wide array of nicknames:

Quote:
Pronounce these words:

Advertisement, Aunt, Route, Caramel, New Orleans, Pecan, Again
Syrup, Supposedly, Probably, Perspire, Library, Espresso, Ask, Coupon, Coffee, Scone

Now answer these questions:

What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you change the TV channel with?
Will you record your voice so that we can hear what you sound like and what kind of accent you have? Pleeeeeease?

Hop on over to Vocaroo to easily record yourself.

Hmm this seems pretty interesting.
If I can find my mic I'll do a recording.
But just so you guys know, I'm from Quebec, Canada, although I don't have a french accent.
And as far as I know I don't have the cliche Canadian accent, but I dunno, maybe I do.
Oh and I have a pretty deep voice haha

For the record, I'm 19, a college student, and like I say, have lived all over the U.S. xP

I don't have a mic. Sorry. Feel lucky though. My voice stinks.

I'm from California. And I tend to just think that I have a plain ol' flat Californian accent. Nothing exotic at all. But I assume to other English speakers throughout the world, it may sound exotic. :P

Thank you. And I don't take that as an insult. I like her voice. :) In fact, it's one of the better comparisons I've heard about my voice. I've gotten confused with my boyfriend's 13 year old nephew by his dad and grandfather. And a lot of people claim I sound like a 12 year old.

Bauchle's Voice.

I really dislike my voice. >.> Also, I know I said I was from Scotland, but please don't expect a really strong Glaswegian accent, because as I live no-where near there, I do sound a lot different. xD

My native accent is well...non-existant really, I have a bland, American accent, I come from Souther Oregon, and such an area (at least to my knowledge) is devoid of any particular defining atributes of speech. However...on the other hand I pride myself on the ability to fake accents, my personal favorite being Scottish, I can also do German, English (UK), Russian, Southern (USA), etc. The unfortunate problem is however, I don't possess an adiquete recording device.

I love these :) I think I may be too shy to record my own voice. I guess I don't talk a lot and don't know how my voice will sound. Some people do have really weird answers to what I think! You have a really nice voice, Bauchle! I think scottish accents are nicer on girls that have softer speech.
