Toothpaste on acne!
So I heard on here on the General Discussion Forums topics that toothpaste apparently works amazingly on acne that you need to go away as soon as possible..
So I had this terrible pimple last week on my chin, I rubbed some Colgate toothpaste on it and left it there for a minute, and KAZZAMO, it was dry in the morning. I kind of just picked it off, and it was gone. :) And I have been using it on my other acne on my cheek/forehead as well. Does anyone else do this regularly as well? ^ ^ ;; |
No, that never worked on me -- my skin is super sensitive -- I can't even use regular soap on my face...

Yeah, I can not use soap-bar soap on my face, either.. it dries it out sooo bad... =_____=" |
I used to use toothpaste or vodka to dry out acne. Worked very well. I was lucky though and very rarely got zits, so didn't have to use it often.
|
That's weird...I didn't know toothpaste could do that o.o

Organic coconut oil is great for silky hair. Only use a little though.

Wow! :o You learn something new everyday! That's pretty awesome. 8) |
I heard it works on Ipods too~ > . >...

:O Hmm, I have to try this toothpaste thing tonight. |
I'm a little iffy on trying this, since my skin ranges from oily to dry. I'll stick with Witch Hazel. Just use a q-tip, dab onto red or acne areas and go.

Queenie: LOL. I meant..the cracks in the screen. xD I should of specified.

Honestly, the best way to keep away acne if it's a problem is to either wash your pillowcase regularly (about as often as you do laundry, if not more so for those lazy people) and/or lay a clean towel on your pillow and sleep on it. A lot of the bacteria that causes acne is caused by a dirty sleeping surface. Of course, it helps to wash your face before sleep as well, not just in the morning. ^.^
I used to have terrible acne, but this really helped, and your face doesn't even have to smell like cool mint afterward. |
But who DOESN'T want their face to smell like cool mint? ;)

''i heard this a while back when my auntie saw an article in a beauty magazine saying Jackie Chan swears by this method! LOL! Well, naturally being a family who practically worships Asian stars, my mom made my sister and I try it. It sort of worked for my sister lessening her pimples but for me, my experience was horrible because I left it on for one night, the pimple dried up and then there was a huge burn scar on my face!!! The toothpaste had well, burnt the skin on my face. So there was s inking circular spot on my cheek which was far worse than having a pimple. And it hurt really bad and took a much longer time to heal >.<
After that experience, I definitely never continued with putting anything that was not zit cream directly on my acne... |

As for the toothpaste on acne thing, yes, it dries it out. But it probably doesn't work for everyone. Worked for my brother. |
Toothpaste has so many uses other than brushing your teeth. ;u; I use it whenever I get burns and when don't have soap to wash my hands. It also works on insect stings. I actually wrote a song about it's uses for Music class not so long ago. After researching I found out it can be used to put up posters and as a temporary hole sealer. :'D |
Moogle: I've never tried it personally! D: At your own risk!
|
I haven't heard that toothpaste could do that, I wish I had known this in middle school. I had horrible acne and a lot of the stuff I used didn't work until the doctor prescribed me some stuff. Now that I know this, I can use it on the occasional zit I get.
|
Toothpaste never worked that well for my acne. I have, however, been using this mint masque, and it looks and smells a bit like toothpaste, and I've been using that on my acne. It's working somewhat well.
I also do the towel-on-the-pillow thing that Lizabeth Storm mentioned. I'm still breaking out a little bit, but I think it's gone down some. If nothing else, my face isn't so greasy when I wake up! |
maybe, Dx ok ok.. I have a bad habbit of forgetting to wash my face :C
|
I never found toothpaste works for me. I use tea tree oil instead. However, they are both astringents. I think tea tree oil is better, because of its antiseptic qualities.
