Idk if anything specific that Mene does for Earth Day, and i don't really do anything specific for Earth Day..

I remember Earth Day my junior year of high school :) My Bio teacher took a group of people outside and we all planted about 150 saplings outside of the school.

I'm a horrid electricity person.

I made rockets to teach kids about physics at work today. That is what I did for Earth day.. I'm gonna go eat a field of tasty baby animals now.. :D

I planted a tree in my back yard! Though I try to be a good environmentalist all the time, it can be so hard though :( For example I bring my reusable cloth bags when I go shopping the other day a lady started bagging my stuff in a plastic bag. I let her know that I had my own and not to worry about the plastic bag - so she takes the two items that were in it out and then THREW IT AWAY O.O I was like uuuuh that's the whole thing I'm trying to stop! She just started at me until I lecturer her on what the "Pacific Gyre" I still think she doesn't believe me but I told her to look it up.... hopefully she actually does....


also an after though of my post Mene IS kinda environmental, I get to have a massive wardrobe and tons of nifty clutter that will never need up keep or get worn out, thus taking up space in a land fill.... or the back of my closet for that matter XD

Happy (belated) Earth Day!

Unfortunately, Easter seems to have overshadowed Earth Day somewhat this year, but I still celebrated with my little family. :)

We usually make an "Earth Day Resolution", which is kind of like a New Year's Resolution, only we do it on Earth Day and it has to be related to environmentalism. Last year we decided to plant more plants (herbs, fruit bushes etc.) in the garden, and the year before it was to recycle more vigilantly, both of which I'm proud to say we've done!
This year we decided to start composting. We set up our own little bin in the garden, ready for the daily coffee grounds and veggie peelings.

I wish I had done something last year; what with Easter and it being Good Friday, my family kind of forgot, though.

Normally we try to turn off all the lights and electricity for at least an hour for Earth Day, though. And sometimes on other random days, just for fun. xD
