Okay, so as many of you know, the new predicted Judgement Day is tomorrow, at 6:00 P.M., no matter where you are.
I'm not so sure about that. There have been many guesses about when the world was going to end, and most of them have been wrong. But, I'm also a bit convinced. Maybe it's just because I'm really really gullible?
But, still, I think that everyone is a bit too obsessed with when the world is going to end. I'm just like, "Oh whatever, just live life to the fullest and die smiling or something."
So, do you think that Judgment Day will actually happen? What is your opinion?
Lol I don't believe in a apocalypse, judgement day or whatever. So I'm not particulary worried.
And if there now would be I don't think there would be any reason to know anyway, so what's the point?
Personal opinion: this is just some guy wanting attention.
Well for one thing, I'm on Pacific Standard Time, so I'd be the very last time zone to be raptured... so if it were to be steeped, wouldn't there be time for all of us here on the west coast to repent as we heard about the rapture happening in time zones ahead of us? 8D
Second of all, if you're worried about a BIBLICAL rapture, fear not... the bible specifically says that certain requirements must be met before the rapture is here, and very few of them have been.
The key case I've been emphasizing is one particular line that says that Palistan and Israel must reconcile their differences and become a united nation. If you keep up with current events, that's not happening any time soon!
I got an invitation to that event on Facebook. I must say it is happening at a very inconvenient time for me; Spartacus will be airing the day after that and I want to watch it. But I'll be sure to go to the afterparty, though!
I don't believe that someone other than God can say when the Judgment Day will occur. I'll have to go through the book of Ezekiel and see if I can see where Camping got his info. If he is correct, then it's not like I can do anything to stop it.
I'm going to quote from the book of Matthew why I don't believe tomorrow is Judgment Day.
Quote:
3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all[a]these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences,[b] and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Matthew 24:3-14
This passage gives me the feeling that perhaps Camping's claims could be one of the starting signals. But even so, doesn't mean that the world ends tomorrow.
Quote:
36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven,[e] but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour[f] your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
Howard Camping is just an old fart with no has no reputation left to lose after he incorrectly guessed twice before. I was going to write more about him when I saw that you had links. How can you read about this guy and still be convinced? It's like if our grandfathers decided they knew when the world was going to end. (One of my grandparents keeps saying that he should have died in WWII, the other says someday scientists will be able to find the gay gene and eliminate it....seriously.)
If you believe in the bible, it says that we can't predict the day Jesus comes back, we will just *know* when it happens.
My thinking is: I'll believe it only if everyone who was spreading this ridiculous statement quits their job, takes out all their money from the bank and gives it to the poor. Why do the saved need money? Isn't it better to do one final good act on Earth? Why hold onto money or try to get people to buy a book or t-shirts about the end of the world if it's going to end before the year's out? Many Christians (if not mostly all of them) do not take this seriously at all, IF they even notice it at all. It's a load of rubbish.
But, I suppose we'll all find out tomorrow, won't we--it might be 3rd time's a charm for Camping, who also says gay pride is a sign of the apocalypse.
Love, equality and inner peace with oneself is a sign of apocalypse to some 89 year old nutter.
Remember that scene in 2012 where that old Chinese guy was sitting peacefully in his little nest, and he was watching the huge wave rip over the mountains, and just enjoying his last few moments on earth before he was going to be pummeled? That's how I want to die if the world's ending. Only I want to be playing "First Day of My Life" by Bright Eyes on my uku. I actually learned the song just for that reason. I don't know why, I just always told myself that if I was lucky enough to experience the end of the world I would do that.
Oooh! *claps her hands*
I'm so excited to see how it all plays out. I'm not doing anything in particular, though, so hopefully some good television shows will be playing.
I am throwing a start of the rapture party. Regardless if its true or not I figure its a good enough reason to party. :) The guy could be right but as said before he has been wrong twice before and his response when asked "If you are wrong again does this make you the priest who cried wolf"" was "It will happen on may 21st at 6pm" I think it is merely him trying to somehow take advantage of a lot of peoples gullibility and or faith. In my opinion he is not a true christian.
He judges gays.. Bible says thou shall not judge. He has predicted the rapture 3 times now contradicting what Jesus said about Not even the Angels knowing when it will happen. Its a publicity stunt that is it. Well in my opinion anyways
I think the worst part of the whole thing is all the poor people who actually believe Camping and have given up all their money and lost their families due to this. Saturday is going to come and go and they will have nothing.

Well... It's 6:00pm where I am, May 21st, and... -checks self over- I'm pretty sure I'm still here. >_>
And my mum is too... And if anyone in this household was going to get taken up, it would be her...
According to SurvivingTheWorld.net, it was 1:43:06AM exactly after he factored in a missing decimal. I'm more inclined to believe the calculations of an Engie professor. So it would've already happened everywhere. 8D
I'm not particularly concerned about it; he made the same prediction back in 1994, and it obviously didn't come true then. Besides, I've never understood why these doomsday prophets try to use the Bible to predict when the world will end in the first place, seeing as how it makes it quite clear that it's impossible to know the date or time of the end.
We aren't suppose to know when it ends so predicting its end would stop it.... I say the appocolypse is every second if that's how it works! And it would be funny for a while.
6 PM has come and gone without any signs of anything happening, I guess if something WERE to happen then, and the world was supposed to end, I would be just sitting here at the computer then BOOM! No more world. >.<
According to some random guy I met in a cemetery today, it was actually supposed to be at nine in my time zone.
Well, both six and nine passed with no signs of impending doom.
Ironically, though, a bunch of people were in town for something at the fairgrounds, and they found some guy who came for that dead in his hotel room. My mother and I have been jokingly saying that the apocalypse actually did begin, but no one noticed that it was the Rapture because he was the only one taken. xD
Im thinking he may have been right...just not in the way people were thinking.
It was supposed to be a slow night at work(it being a long weekend and all), but around 6pm(no joking), we got SLAMMED(and thats putting it cleanly). We had already told the dishwasher, and 2 servers to take the night off, and have a longer weekend. So, in total, we had 7 people, but about 5:30, the chef sent one of the cooks home. Thus leaving us with 6 people(2 cooks, 1 Chef, 1 FOH Manager, 1 server, 1 bartender), and non-stop bills until 10pm. Ive been home for about 10minutes now. So, in a way, the world did end...at least the slow, expected world, of a Saturday night, of a long weekend, that has beautiful weather.
