So since yesterday, my internet stopped working. Here I am, using the internet's crappy internet. I was dying so much earlier when I couldn't have access to the internet. It's a bit sad how attached we are to the internet these days but I can't help it. I have blogs to maintain and important emails to check. @@ But without the internet, I am forced to continue my job hunt. Except when I come home, there's not many things to do. TV isn't great until later on the night for me.
So when your internet dies, do you go crazy? Do something more productive? Tell us.

I try to read or write or even get some art done. Occasionally I attempt to be a productive member of the house by getting stuff straightened out and cleaned. And depending on the time of day (mid day to afternoon) it's too hot to sit around let alone get any work done so I head out to the mall or someplace to go walking. And if I really need to access my email I will use my phone. Although I should get out of that habit as it's getting replaced soon.

Productive? Can you define the word? xP
My internet hardly ever goes out, but it does tend to flicker. It gets particularly bad at night or whenever we've had a big rainstorm, like we did last night. I'm still paying for it now... this feels... like dial-up!

well as of now i'd go crazy pretty much because we don't have a phone anymore..my parents couldn't afford to pay the bill. :l so we only have internet. basically. they havn't cut the tv off yet tho.. idk. but anyway.. no phone. & being I like to talk to my bf and know what he is up to i go insane without it because as of now thats the only way i can talk to him. except friday/weekend when i see him. may seem ridiculous to some. but I love him so much so a day without him is just so boring.

Oh god, yes. This happened to me today. My dad took the internet down for a little while to install a new router. I was on Menewsha at the time, and when the internet suddenly stopped working, I went downstairs to see what the problem was. I then spent the next hour refreshing the web browser hoping it would work again.
Sometimes, though, I find that I become more productive when my internet stops working. It forces me to actually sit down and read something that I've been meaning to read, but never got around to because the internet keeps me busy with useless things.

Hmm.
Uhm, Aria would die without her internet.
Besides the fact that I need internet to do EVERYTHING, I think it might be the end of the world.
It hasn't happened yet, but you would all know if it did.

If my net die's so dose my tv sometimes I read a book I have laying around are play with my ds. when the lights went out for 3 in half days at my dad's house I went nuts with boredom. we went to the mall near my aunts house walk around there. go to Asian grocery store it was sort of fun walk around in there. cause I got to see a lot of new stuff and make teach my dad a few things. he walk over to were they keep the hanging ducks at cooking them in that glass case. he did not know what is was at all so he went to look at them. when we got in back in to car I tolled how I knew what it was thank to Andrew Zimmer's tv show.

I admit, when my net was unable to be installed for a month, I stole from my neighbor who uses a unpassword protected router. Thanks neighbor!

@Daria: In my old house, I did that, but would stay up into the wee hours of the night playing a certain MMO... he caught on rather fast after I started doing that, as it uses up a lot of bandwidth. :ninja:

When my internet doesn't work then I either barrow from a neighbor or go down the block to Tim Horton's or the library. It rarely goes out though. I tend to run things online in the background when I write. I don't really "need" the internet to do what I do daily on the computer but it is nice to have.

I phase in and out of the internet. I didn't have it for a good while and I found other means to occupy my time. I tend to get bored of it, to be honest. If I were to lose it this instant, it'd be a sad day in paradise but I'd find something else.

i HATE not having internet - not just because it provides me with entertainment, but because it's how i find out EVERYTHING.
bus timetables, where & when i'm meeting people, how much money i have, which readings i have to do for my tutorials, etc.
it's so inconvenient not having it. D:
however, when i don't, i read a lot, and tend to study more than usual, so i guess it's not all bad. ^^;

I actually find that I get a lot more productive things done when I don't have Internet. I tend to have a lot more time for writing, piano, and various other things that I really should be doing when I spend hours on the Internet. xD
I normally tell myself that once I get the Internet back, I'll use it a lot less. That, of course, only lasts for a few days.

When my internet dies, I do everything in my power to fix it until I give up and read a book. Then I check to see if the internet is working every couple of minutes. Usually I know exactly how long the internet has been out.

Currently I'm borrowing from a neighbour who is using an unprotected signal. ^^" I don't like knowing I am doing that, but it's only temporary till we hook the internet up when my dad gets the cable people here sometime within the next week. Since I am borrowing the internet and I also am using a netbook, I don't do more than be on menewsha, facebook, another forum site and youtube- I'm re-watching Rurouni Kenshin ^^"
But if I lose internet- I am lost since I use it to chat with my boyfriend, though we probably would just call each other before bed. I also will just read to kill time. ^^

When my internet dies or my sister cuts it off..I sleep. xD
Or I take my dogs on walks for miles...or mess around with them in the yard.
Which I think I'll do so right now because I miss them D:

I cry pretty much and call my cable/internet/phone provider. They usually say there's an outage in this are or friggin maintenence time without informing anyone.
Then I cry until it comes back up or I give in and drive 15+ minutes to the university to have internet.
I'm addicted. I admit this.

I end up playing old video games...haha.
I was just discussing how me and my mother need to do more with our weekends than drink and watch tv and be on the internet. I've decided we should order a 50's style dress pattern (I'm into that kinda thing) and make one so she can teach me how to use the sewing machine before university.

I used to get totally pissed off and would be totally bored if the internet wasn't working. Even if it were for just a couple of hours. Though now I go to a school that doesn't allow me access to my favorite sites. So alas, I am unable to do much on the internet there. And I do not have a computer of my own yet. But considering that I don't even think about going online much anymore at school, I have got accustomed to not going on it. I just need to get on the computer ever now and then to check my bank account, check my e-mail, and update my resume and whatnot -w-

As much as I hate to admit it, I get a lot of things done when I'm not online. I really would rather not get rid of it though.
