What countries have YOU visited?
I always thought it was interesting to be able to record where you have been in the world and how many continents you have explored.
I have found a website (of a few) where you can select countries and you can generate your own map! This one also tells you how many countries in which continents/sections you have visited and what percentage is taken up by each. I'm excited to see where all of you have been! Discuss:

I actually have never been outside of the US. It's a shame considering that there are so many places I would like to visit. France, Italy, England, Canada, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Romania... there are the places I would like to go. |
The only other country I've really been to is Italy. I went over spring break with a group from my school.
I was actually in France, too, for all of about fifteen minutes... so I don't think that exactly counts. xD |
I've been to Spain with a layover in Germany.
That's all. Otherwise.....I've always been in America. And I'm (mostly) okay with that. |
I have never left the United States before. I'm kinda ok with it.
While I would love to travel to different countries in Europe, or Japan, I think I would be kinda scared about traveling in a foreign country, especially if it meant learning another language. @[email protected] |
I've never been outside the Usa. I think it'd be a great opportunity to visit another country, and be able to say I have been out of the United States.

I hope you get the chance to travel more! So if you live in America, have any of you travelled to different states? |

It was definitely a lot of fun, except for the fact that we had this kid in our group that kept stalking my friends and me the whole time. Italy itself was incredible; going with a group of high school students, not always so much. xD It was a great experience though; one of my friends and I are actually thinking about going back in a few years. |

I've been to Florida (USA), Toronto (Canada), England (UK), Scotland (UK), Salou (Spain) and Paria (France). I would love to go back to Spain, Canada and America, but I'd probably travel to different places in both America and Canada. If I was going somewhere entirely new though, I'd pick Africa, I'd love to travel round the different African countries, embracing their way of life. It looks wonderful. I also wouldn't mind going to the Caribbean either. |
Well I live in Canada... does it count if I've gone all the way from British Columbia to Prince Edward Island? I just haven't seen the North West Territories and such.
I've also been to the North Eastern states (U.S.A), such as Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, New York (state only not city), Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, and Michigan. |
I live in Scotland, but I've still counted it as a place I've been to, because I have travelled across most of it. xDD

Africa looks amazing. Though you have to get a lot of injections and take medication before you go because of all the risks which I would not be so happy about (needles are not my idea of a nice time). The culture would be really good to experience. Maybe Kenya would be a good place to go? |
Haha thanks, I haven't been to overly many places though. I would love to be more travelled. One day, one day...
Yes, I do really fancy going to Kenya. Though there are so many African countries I want to go to, Tanzania, Congo, Nigeria, Egypt, Zimbabwe...obviously the political unrest in certain countries would prevent me from holidaying there, but I would love to go at some point. The heat would probably kill me and all the vaccinations and anti-malarial medication I would have to take would be a royal pain, but in the end I do think that it would be worth it. |
I live in the US, I have only left it once and just barely. Vancouver, Canada 2001.
I would love to visit Japan and London though. |
Echidna: Yes I think it would be worth it! I went to Tunisia last year and so I just escaped all the political ruccus going on.
Bella_Cullen: I'm going to Vancouver this year! What is it like, and did you like it there? |
Ooh, is Tunisia nice? I've never spoken to anyone who's gone there before. =O
This summer I was supposed to be doing a volunteer project abroad, I was going to pick Mongolia. Sadly no money and a crap load of debt prevented that one. |
When I went to Tunisia I think I expected the weather to be a bit warmer, even though it was early in the year, so it turned out to be quite cold. Where I was there wasn't a lot round but it was still fun to be there. I think you have to be pretty hard-headed when you're in Arabic countries because of their approach to tourists. It can be very intimidating especially for young women.
Ah that's a shame you didn't get to go. I'd love to go on a volunteer project they seem like a really good experience. |
Yeah, I had noticed that in Arabic countries they don't tend to be overly welcoming to tourists. If I did go, I definitely wouldn't want to holiday there alone. I'd bring my friends or relatives with me. Safety in numbers and all that.
Yes, it would have been a great experience, very enriching for both the person volunteering and the person being helped. |
I've been to Holland, England, Wales, Scotland, New Zealand, Fiji and according to the system on this thread...

I love New Zealand most but Scotland is my favourite other place. A lot like NZ I guess, but colder! |
Carzeemumnbear: Where do you live?/Did live? They are some cool places! I'd love to go to New Zealand or Fiji - and Dubai and Hong Kong. Scotland is like NZ in a way? That sounds unusual, how so? Do you mean Manchester in England? I fly from there mostly.

This is my map or where I have traveled so far, my goal is to see as much of the world as I can. Travel is addicting to me because I love seeing new places and learning about the cultures and meeting new people. |
I've only been out of America, twice. And both times were to Canada. Nova Scotia.
|
xRhii: Love your map! And that's what I want to do too. I'd love to be able to cover as much as I can on the map!
Larxene: Cool! Do you go to see relatives or is it a nice place to go on holiday? |
I haven't been to too many places outside of the US. I've only been to Canada and China. I go to China pretty frequently, though, because that's where a lot of my relatives are.
I'd like to go to Europe sometime. I'd also like to eventually have been a large portion of the world. Maybe after I graduate from college, I'll take a couple months to travel around before I start working. |
Wow, I'm annoyed at my map! My longing to travel hasn't got me further than Europe. I wish to live in Ireland, or somewhere equally as unusual to me :)
