Just for Fun: Post Your Desktop!
A person's desktop can say alot about them. Their choice of wallpaper, how they organise their icons, and all sorts of other little tidbits: sometimes I go back to find something 'important' and realise I was IMing someone I haven't spoken with for a year. Just a snapshot in time, press "Print Screen" on your computer desktop and then paste it into any image program, save it, upload it, you know the drill... I'll get started since this is my thread:

I just use the default wallpapers... :XD And I use the Start Menu for finding programs, so my icons are all .... in a jumble. A lined jumble. |
Ikuto Akihiko: I can see you're listening to alot of Dir En Grey (I really hope my eyesight is that good and I'm not messing that up.) My iTunes happens to be playing various Doctor Who themes. :)

This thread would probably be better off in the Computer forums and I think there's even a thread about this there already iirc.
As for my desktop, I have my computer set to randomly choose a background out of a huge collection of wallpapers every 30 seconds. |

I'd like to be lazy please and not post a picture... but I'll tell you about it! *Minimizes window to see background* Oh yeah. Well my computer went through some serious viruses and blah blah blah, now it runs pretty slow and crappily. Everytime I try to get into my screen saver/wallpaper page etc. it takes at least ten minutes before freezing my computer entirely. So my background is one of the ones the computer came with, a green meadow with blue skies. I really like it, but usually my backgrounds are of the ocean or beach. It hasn't been since high school that I uploaded a picture of something else. It's a shared computer with my family, so it's just simpler this way!

I don't use a lot of the icons on my desktop, I'm just too lazy to delete them. I also hid my sticky note which just lists stuff I need to do and jobs I'm going to apply to. |

I find it amusing what I can tell from people's desktops. For example, it's obvious I am in a major Doctor Who kick between my desktop image and my Menewsha cosplay. It also appears that my iTunes is out of date and I prefer the 'old school' look of windows despite the fact I'm running 7 ultimate.
It seems like that everyone who has posted a screen shot so far is using one flavour of Windows or another. I found it funny to spy on what Ikuto Akihiko was listening to at the moment. zeapear plays, and potentially makes alot of games. The company that I worked for, for numerous years, used Game Maker 5/6 depending on the class for the computer game design classes for ages 10 and up. Isn't Mabongi another Nexon game? I used to play Maplestory until one of the recent patches during the anniversary of all things made it completely incompatible with Windows 7. It was unofficially incompatible before but I still ran it anyway, but now even if I try to run it in XP Pro compatibiity mode it craps out on me. Boo. -shaky fist-. Hmm. -evil grin- Ever heard of Dwarf Fortress? :twisted: I think Sir D . L O Van Lobsters's desktop is clean and peaceful... more like a screen saver, if it wasn't for the task bar. I could fall asleep staring at that. Estrella wins the colourful award. Are you sure you don't want us peeking at your resume? ;) voenne's wallpaper makes me think I'm in someone's guest bathroom x_X Elluh- That fan art is adorable. I can see how that can make you smile every time you see your desktop! |
