I have one tattoo against my mother's wishes but because I don't smoke and hardly drink she reluctantly let me have it done. I have a koi carp outline done on my foot may or may not have it coloured in later, it represents alot of things to me but the general meaning of it is a new start for me.
|
I never drink, smoke or do drugs, so I'm hoping that my dad will let me get a tattoo. I want it to be lyrics (Only like 2 or 3 lines) or a quote and it's gonna be a tribute to all the people in my life who have died
|
I like both of those ideas! And good for you guys for being sober, not a lot of young people can say that these days!
|
I'm legally an adult but I still asked my parents if I could have it done originally I was going to have a scarification tattoo but because it takes so long to heal, I had the design I liked already compleatly thought through. It was three years of chosing a design that I really like came down to having a koi.
My friend had one done but she didn't realize that because of the design it had to be done so it was the right way up for everyone else. MissDifferent have you thought about where you're going to have it done ? |
I have 2 small tattoos. One on my middle upper back (just below the neckline), and one on my right rib cage.
|
I want to put it across my shoulders. I thought of there because it's a symbol of always carrying the memory of those people.
Kya: I'm 17 and I decided I wasn't going to drink about 3 or 4 years ago and for good reason. If it wasn't for that blasted poison, my mother would still be alive |
I think they're amazing and beautiful. <3 I live in a far more conservative society though (Singapore XD) though we're apparently becoming more liberal - or Westernised, call it what they may. Doing drugs and drinking is mostly uncalled for at my age anyway, so it's not an achievement that I haven't done either :P I'm 15, so... yeah. HAHA.
I hope I'll be able to get tattooed when I'm older though - going to have a hard time convincing my conservative parents though. D: I also want to dye my hair rainbow and get more ear piercings, but I'm going to worry about that later. D: They'll probably think I've made some horrible friends or something since I'm a good kid - well, I'm the sort who doesn't even own any branded clothes, etc. so it'll be hard. >A< I'm thinking of either a barcode or a flock of ravens flying across my wrist/back though. It'll look artsy. Hopefully. (I'm only doing it when I get out of school though -is a law-abiding citizen :P-) |
I'm debating about getting the Japanese symbol for attitude tattooed just above my left ankle.
Only thing stopping me is the pain XD <---ish a wuss when it comes to experiencing pain :ninja: |
Personally, I like them. They're a good way to express one's feelings and memories. Of course they're definitely something that should have a lot of consideration put into it before actually getting them done, but if you know you're ready and want one, then I say go for it!
I have two myself, I have lyrics from a band that I've loved since I was about...twelve on my foot, because they're just something that mean a lot to me, for a number of reasons that I wont get into. And of course when I was fifteen I had one of those "moments" and a friend of mine and I did some hearts on my ankle, but I don't regret it for a second. I see it as one of those sweet reminders of what I was like when I was younger, plus it's not too shabby. It usually takes close inspection to realize how unprofessional it actually is. I know a lot of people don't agree with doing something like that, and heck I wouldn't walk around recommending it to others, knowing that a lot of people are quicker to regret things then I am. However, it's also my body, and if I'm still able to love them then there's no harm. :) |
Personally, I don't have any tattoos but I have seen a few that I loved (but probably wouldn't get). And of course, they are nerd tattoos.
1. This girl had a green legend of zelda triforce tattooed on her back [TriForce by ~hemdagem on deviantART but in green] and it was very well done. It looked gorgeous and kind of looked like she had wings at first glance. 2. One of my mom's co-workers has the number pi in a circle on the back of his calf. It is simple. It is awesome. |
I like tattoos, i like designing them too XD
Some of the designs that people come up with are just so beautiful. It really is an art form with humans as your canvas! I have to say though, like the little clever ones the best though. I know a girl who has the word "Please" tattooed on the inside of her bottom lip so when shes begging she can pout and say "Pweeeeese?" all at the same time. I think that is adorable. Only bad thing is that its going to fade fast. I think if i ever saw one that i REALLY wanted, id get it. I just haven't gone out looking for one. |
I currently have a tattoo that only cost me around 80$ ,
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/moraly/tat.png It's in Hebrew, it means: "Believe in yourself and don't be afraid to live and to love" The quote, I made up myself, kind of my lifestyle motto. At first I thought of getting it done in either Mandarin, Japanese or Korean, but I have no close friends that speak those languages and I didn't want to trust a stranger with that sort of thing. I, myself, am not Jewish, but I find that the Hebrew language, being one of the oldest ones out there, is very beautiful and sacred. I had several Jewish friends at my Russian school and I asked one of them to write it out for me, but vertically, instead of horizontally, so it my be a little hard to read. I plan on getting the same sentence written in a couple other languages, (French English Russian Japanese, we'll see), vertically along the right side of my back (starting at my shoulder and going down). I also want to get a more elaborate tattoo on the inside of my left arm, in kind of cartoon-y, Tim Burtonesque style, of a girl, a boy and their pet cat, taking a break outside their car on the side of a road in the middle of the woods, with the following lyrics above and below the drawing: "Breathe in the Darkest Country Road And the Strong Scent of Evergreen" "When you feel Embarrassed, I'll be your Pride When you need Directions, I'll be your Guide" (From the song Passenger Seat - Death Cab for Cutie) |
Yes, I do have a tattoo. Designed it myself, so it has definite meaning. Bet you can't guess my passion~

I don't happen to have any tattoos but I am not against anyone having them and I may end up with one but I know it will be symbolic. I tend to date men with tattoos so in that case it is nice.
|
I wouldn't ever get a tattoo that didn't have meaning. It's pointless otherwise and it could be something that you would regret later
|
I also plan to get a small music note behind my ear, that is made with Marly colors. It will be super cheap and easily hidden, I almost forgot about that one! But I've thought about it a lot throughout the years :]
|
I've actually designed a couple before. Nothing special, just crosses and chains mostly. Most of the people that asked weren't very good friends of mine, they just saw my sketches and doodles in 9th and 10th grade and asked me to do pretty normal stuff. Not very creative at all. :/ I definitely believe tattoos should be personal and unique because your skin is personal and unique.
Now I'm very into henna which is a lot of fun. :) I get to be creative and show off cool designs without having to live with it all my life. I may be limited to just brown (only true henna is brown, other concocted colors are hazardous) but if I ever got a real tattoo, it would be on the more natural looking side and not too many colors. |
It didn't take me long to think of my tattoo.
I knew exactly where I wanted it and I knew that I wanted something meaningful/empowering written in another language. It only took me a few minutes to come up withe the sentence: ''Believe in yourself and don't be afraid to live and to love'' I got my tattoo done when I was 16, under the consent of my parents. four years later.. I'm not regretting it one little bit :) |
Good, you shouldn't! I LOVE your tattoo! It's great that you love it so much too, I bet you always will with a tattoo like that :]
|
thank you ^^
and I'm pretty sure of that too :) Do you currently have any tattoos Kya? |
I saw a great tattoo today it was of the dial of a compass and another one which was a monarch butterfly but it was in blues, pinks and purples.
|
I don't have any, but I know plenty that I want.
|
Omgsh, was just about to post a similar question.. xD I think tattoos are sexy and interesting. I'm thinking of getting a tattoo in a few months for my 18th. I'm thinking of a moose on my left wrist... so I don't get distracted when I'm writing.. But then I'm scared that I might regret it in the future for some reason for putting it on my wrist where I can't really hide it. But I really want it and can't really think of a reason why I would hide it... Oh and the moose is a symbol for self-esteem, power and courage so I want to be able to look at it whenever I'm in the need for courage, so it is able to guide me through whatever comes my way.. I also find them sexy and interesting. xD On another note, has anyone heard of tattoos gone wrong? Like them being permanently raised/scarred... |
I've heard of them going wrong but mainly because the persons either pulled away insted of asking for a brake or getting infected because they've not listened to after care advice.
Bunny you can always have it like on you hip, at the top of your arm, your foot or leg, somewhere which can be easily covered for work. Most tattoo arists will quite happily use the stencil for you to find the place which you're happiest with. You've just got to rember that the moose is going to be upside down for you. I have a friend who's had a tattoo on her forearm and instantly regretted having it placed there because it's going to count against her when getting a job. |
True... It'll be upside down unless I get it somewhere like my wrist.. Oh no ... that sucks. I thought about that too, what kind of jobs was she after? And also do tattoos look bad over visible veins? Because the vein on my wrist is really dark and long.. :s |
