Some days I can hardly be bothered to wash my hair. :/

Reading this thread and seeing a bottle of nail polish on my desk inspired me to at least paint my nails today.
And I did wash my hair earlier haha I really need to start caring about my appearance. It's kind of funny that this thread
makes me think that when you were originally wondering the point of doing all that stuff.

I've gone from low maintenance to pretty much no maintenance.

The other day a co-worker asked if I lightened my hair and I looked at her blankly.
When I admitted I just haven't colored in a few months and that it's just faded.. I felt so lazy.

She's like "it looked different - not bad - just lighter." She wasn't trying to make me feel bad
if anything she was going to compliment me but ugh I feel so lazy.

I find that there is alot of pressure on women (and some men) to look their best at all times. I myself don't normally care about my appearance -- unless it comes to my hair. I spend close to $300-$400 a year to dye my hair/get it cut. Along with all the necessary things to make your hair come out the way you wanted it too. I also get my eye brows done (waxed) at least one every month, though sometimes I am lazy and don't do it for a couple month.

Then their is the nails - I do it every once and a while, though recently I got really into the crackle nail polish. But for 'real' make-up (eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow, et cetera) I have gotten back into it for my second job. But considering what my first job is - i don't spend much on my appearance.

I feel like though we are women (and some men) feel the pressure to wear things that make them pretty, and make their faces up... we also put alot of that pressure on ourselves. I am one of those girls that can do my make-up in 5 minutes. But I know some that can take up to an hour.

But in the end if that's what makes you happy, and you are not letting the pressure of society/friends/family/yourself get to you ... the go for it make yourself as pretty/dressed up as you want <3

This kind of makes me wonder what beauty rituals guys go through. A while back I had mentioned to Daniel that I dislike hair on guy's chests. He surprised me one night when I went to hug him (as I always do) and there wasn't even a single strand ;3
I'm just curious as to what else there is that happens behind the scenes for guys.

I can be a real lazy butt when it comes to beauty. = 3= But I do think it's important, however the only "makeup" I wear is translucent face powder and lipgloss. Though I probably should wear eyeliner/mascara or something, as my lashes are extremely light. :S

Being a swimmer, shaving is a given for me. It's aesthetically pleasing, not to mention more comfortable while swimming. :P
Because I swim, my hair stays in a ponytail most of the time and straightening my bangs is about the only thing I do to it. It's hard enough as it is to wash it. Dx

Nacara-
I've been wondering that a lot too myself. I have no idea xD They were talking about it on some radio show and one of the guy hosts said he's self conscious about his muscles, or I guess lack of?

Haha really? Well, I guess that makes sense when you go to the gym and see guys working out in front of the mirror. But I wonder if they fuss over their hair, or wonder if their butts look good in certain jeans >.<
