Do you ever have the feeling of...
Adding random people on your MSN or Instant Messenger? I feel like doing that but at the same time, I don't want to be rude and just add. The conversation would be really awkward, no? I'll just look at people on MENE and see a MSN icon and click it and wonder how our conversation will go by. "Hello...who are you? Why did you add me?" and I would just respond with "..To be...friends, maybe?". Is it weird? I'm not the only one with these thoughts? I feel like I need more virtual friends, I feel quite pathetic. Hul~

db8ann: I get this way because every one my list are either sleeping or doing something important to talk to me. So I get quite bored and I just want someone to talk too. I seriously want to add someone on Mene but that's a little too much. I once did add someone on a Bleach forum and we're best friends. It has been three years and we still talk and stuff, we're best buds. I want to add someone but it could be a fake and things could turn out to be the worst. Outcomes are quite scary but without taking risks we would never know. >>; Though since this is different I'm not sure how someone will react. At this very moment, I don't mind if people add me, even if I am ready to go to bed. ><

I never add people myself, because I don't want to scare them away. I made my best friends that way when I was on Gaia. But we're getting older and they aren't online as much as they use to. |
If it's someone I talk to regularly, I don't care. A complete stranger? I would probably become aggressive.

Yeah, same as the person above. If someone added me who I've never talked to, I'd press the delete button in a heartbeat :-/

If someone displays their messenger name on a public site where anyone can see it then they really can't get mad when some random person adds them. The way I see it at least.
I honestly don't care if someone IMs me as long as they're not a jerk. I'd ask if it was a SN I didn't know IMing me but I'm okay with meeting new people. Isn't the IMing thing there for that anyway? |

Vix: It's understandable. I wouldn't be that way unless the person that added me is acting as a complete asshole, then I will also act that way. ^^ Mystic: You are absolutely right. They have it up there and if a random person wants to add them, they can but the outcome can be good or bad. So they shouldn't be that mad but they should ask first. It's what I think would be a considerate thing to do. ^^ So I'm just asking people if I could add them, I get quite bored at night and if you are up as well, we could talk. >< |

I have mine showing in case someone really needs to reach me. Not that I'm on much anyway. I don't care for most people I meet in general so I don't feel bad about being a bitch.

I get random adds a lot of the time, but I accept and then they never speak to me, and often it's Indian men that will propose marriage. I need to clear through my MSN list and only keep those that I'll speak to on there. xD
But I do like to get adds from people that are not creepy and weird, making friends is awesome. Usually I'll wait until I've spoken to someone and then ask for their MSN, so it's an add that's random but not. ;D |
Himalia: I do that too especially on Gaia. If I feel the need that they are quite an amazing person, I then take the conversation onto MSN. I mean, who stays in town and talk away? .-. I can't do it, so I rather have you on MSN. XD I did that recently, two weeks ago and we are still talking. ^^ I'm sorry you get men proposing to you on the net, I feel quite sorry for you. Though I think it'd be a funny experience, no? ^^

Thank you! I'm working on getting Sleepy Time so my avi will be a little more unique. I love stars, the galaxy, and the study of space. It is just so fascinating! Just knowing that you can see Andromeda, an entirely different galaxy than our own is just mind blowing!

I do not use either AIM or MSN but whenever a random person (random person = I have no idea who it is, never spoken anywhere online or in real life) adds me, I assume it is a spambot and ignore them

I don't, since I don't know them at all. I get a lot of random friend requests on other sites and wouldn't want to do that to someone else 'cause I find it annoying when someone else does it.

I generally don't do that. Based on my MMO experience, sending someone a friend request or party invite out of the blue comes off as rude to me. (Well, rude to send a party invite, just weird to send a friend request.) It's like, I don't even know you? I know nothing about you. How should I know if you're someone I want as a friend?The other possibility is that I will assume it's a spambot and ignore/delete right away.

@Light - I have very recently dropped my nursing major and am unsure of what I'd like to get as a degree. As fascinating as space is, I still dont like the math portion (which is a major part)
