Power Rangers
Our neighbor had to go to an urgent meeting, and so her daughter is hanging out over here. She's watching Power Rangers Samurai on Nick, and it's bringing back so many of my childhood memories. I used to love that show, but it's funny seeing how lame it really is. :XD
Have you guys been reminded of anything from your childhood recently? And do you remember the Power Ranger series? |

We were talking this over just now... I'm turning 20 tomorrow, and from the time I was five to about nine, Power Rangers were the BOMB! For me, it was sort of the "forbidden fruit" of childrens' tv - my mother wouldn't let me watch it, because she said it was too violent! The only thing I can do now is shake my head. Some of the storylines (on the evil side, anyway) would even be passable, if the masks and costumes of the villains weren't so terrible! The way they try to make it look like their mouths are moving behind that latex... oh, geeze, it kills me. |
My sister, her husband and I always talk about the Power Ranger series and we just bash on the Samurai one because it's absolutely stupid. I still love it, I would watch it but I just really don't care for the Samurai one. I do love the other ones though. I also look up the Power Ranger theme song now and then. >>; I don't know if they're going to keep doing the series or not but if they do, I'd so let my child watch it. xD

And the villain's outfits in general are pretty terrible. lightkanna: I think my favorite version was the ninja one? It was weird because there were only three and they had elemental powers. o: |
That's the thing, I grew up with and LOVED DBZ... but I don't think she knew about that one! :lol:

I watch old cartoons and TV shows all the time. There's very few shows that are new that I enjoy. Plus I don't own a TV and haven't for years so I'm kind of out of the loop anyway.
As for Power Rangers, I use to LOVE that show. My dog had puppies when I was little and my siblings and I named them all after Power Rangers. There was a Trini, Jason, Zach, and Billy. XD |
I use to watch power ranger when I was a kid. Now a days, there are 50 different series of power ranger and it i'm getting a little to old for it.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is my favorite because it had the only Asian I have seen in it. -cough- I'm too old for it now, you know, gotta move on. ;--; I love DBZ too...

I remember Power Rangers. :) I think from when I was eight to ten I absolutely loved it. I watched every single episode that I could. I remember staying up late to watch a marathon once. I think I might've watched all the episodes that Jetix aired. XD I kind of miss it. It was cheesy, yeah, but I liked it well enough. Looking back on it, it does look extremely cheesy, but it still makes me happy in a way. I actually think I'd understand whatever 'hints' of things that they might've mentioned now as opposed to when I was younger. When I was younger, I didn't understand hints at all! XD I'd probably find hidden gems of things that flew over my head that would make me love the characters more. The one that got me hooked was Ninja Storm. There was a bad storm where I lived and I managed to catch the tail end of one episode on our tiny, portable TV, since cable was out. So was the heat, and it was winter. owo
Over the summer, I was thinking about creating my own Power Rangers series. >w> Well, one more aimed at the 10+ crowd. One that wasn't so cheesy, but good, too. I don't know if I'm gonna follow through with that or not. XD |
