Oh my goodness! I have had bubble tea before!! I just didn't know it was called that :-) When I worked in that Asian restaurant in high school, Le (the owner) would make it as a special treat for us on the really hot days in the kitchen! And we would have Lychee (probably didn't spell that right) to snack on. Man, I miss those days.

Kalium : Tea was very much a bonding thing with my mother when I was growing up, so I know what you mean. Just like Dad's homemade hot chocolate is a tradition every Christmas while we decorate my parents' tree... growing up, tea in the mornings with Mom was essential :-) And that's some interesting way to brew tea! I'll have to look it up!

I read up on that bubble tea and now I really want to try it, I wonder if the Japanese restaurant serves it I'll have to check next time I have money to go there.

Ooo... I just had a wonderful idea... I'm in a training all day tomorrow, and there's a Japanese restaurant right across the street. I get an hour for lunch, so I'm thinking yummy Japanese food for mwah tomorrow :-) They have green tea ice cream... only place up here I've been able to find it.

Warrow8282: That's good you have had it. ^^ All the Asian store my parents shop at have bubble tea but they're a joint international shop where all Asian food are sold. e.e Does it count if I say Green Tea pocky is good? xD

Fluffsamasprime: Maybe so but you can look in a vietnamese store, I would think they have some. x3

I love to get green tea ice cream after eating as much sushi as I can afford.
I think theres an asian market some where in town I'll have to see.

Warrow8282 10-21-2011 11:12 PM

Damn it! That Japanese Restaurant across the street from my training was closed down last month!! Now I have a craving for green tea ice cream...

I got some Irish Breakfast tea to try. It's pretty good, to me. Have to say, it doesn't really taste much different than just... black tea you'd drink at a restaurant or something. xDD
-fails at being tea person-

I like all tea. I'm not above trying new blends. I like orange lemon tea. It's really soothing for a cold.

Monsieur Hatter 10-23-2011 07:57 PM

"Hm, I like too many teas. I think it would be more simple of me to just state the teas I do not like.", Hatter admitted, chuckling.

"Lately a favorite had been pomegranate green tea. It is an ice tea, however, not a hot tea.", he mumbled, pondering over what he had been drinking the most lately.

I like Rooibos best, probably because it was the first tea I actually liked (I'm more of a coffee person.) Rooibos is also the only tea I can drink without honey or milk or something else in it.

Thinking of it, I don't drink enough tea, the problem is that I drink so much coffee that I don't have time to drink tea...

"Why not try drinking tea at the times that coffee does not fit. Like before bed, relaxing late into the night, and other actions?", Hatter smiled, offering a suggestion. For in his eyes, everyone should try and enjoy a good cup of tea.

Darjeeling.
I usually can't drink any other tea but Darjeeling. Add a little bit of honey, and it's perfect. I especially love it, since when you drink it warm, it feels like it warms up your belly from the inside out. It's perfect.

I love Green Tea and this Korean one my husband makes from beans (honestly have no idea what's it's called but it's so calming and has a musky? smell).

I could never get into the really fruity flavored teas - I tried an orange peel one recently and it just didn't sit well. Maybe it's because I've always been drinking coffee (black) and don't like my warm drinks tasting or smelling sweet.

My favorite hot tea is oolong with a spoon of honey mixed in. I also have a cherry rose tea, but it's a bit bitter because of the rose petals in it.

My favorite iced tea is white tea infused with honeydew.

Aspinou 10-24-2011 09:17 PM

@Monsieur Hatter Yeah I really should do that, i like tea in the evening. problem is I usually never have any trouble sleeping when I drink coffee, but I guess it's all about changing a habit.

@LillianFaye Ohh darjeeling I like that tea, I completely forgot about it. In the town I used to live in before they had the best darjeeling tea at a little store there. XD

LillianFaye 10-24-2011 11:54 PM

Aspinou: Oh yes! I love Darjeeling. I think it's one of the more underrated teas... but I definitely love the taste of it!

I'll settle for other teas, such as English Breakfast, or Earl Grey, but I'm pretty sure that Darjeeling is natural, while... those two, I'm unsure. I'm not a big fan of the Eastern Asian teas. :/ I just can't stand their taste...

I absolutely love Wild Sweet Orange. I forgot what the brand/company name is, though. It is amazing !!

Sally Sinema 10-28-2011 10:40 AM

I love tea, earl grey and this special xmas tea called nutcracker tea by celestial seasonings are my favorite. Oh, and this awesome stuff called cookie monster tea at a local tea joint by me, it tastes like drinking spicy oatmeal cookies.

Kirin Rosenbaum 10-28-2011 03:11 PM

I love Egyptian Licorice Tea put out by Yogi Tea.

----------

Oh I also like Harney and Sons Green Tea.

Anzelthur 10-31-2011 10:51 PM

I'm a tea lover. I can drink tea with or without extra things added to it. My personal favourites has to be blueberry & vanilla, blackberry fruit(though it's a berry really) tea and this spice tea I can't remember the name off. Ice tea are great as well.

I do have this habit of adding lots of sugar in my tea every morning just because I love the sweet taste.

hummy 10-31-2011 11:00 PM

I tried some lemon ginger tea by stash last night and it was really good.
i keep having upset stomaches so i thought it might help and it did!
it's not something i want brewed strongly or to drink often but it was tasty.

Bearzy 11-01-2011 06:24 AM

Oooh, lemon and ginger? That sounds delicious!

Ferra 11-01-2011 10:28 AM

Oh gosh, I LOVE tea! <3 I drink it almost every day. What's nice is that it's so common and easy to find many flavors where I live. At work, there's always a big stash of green tea, plus some herbal or dark teas too.

I really like real tea ceremony matcha tea. It's some of the best tea I ever had, so I was really surprised when some people told me they couldn't stand it because it's so bitter. I guess my taste buds don't detect it? I'll settle for regular green tea, but I prefer matcha.

As far as other typical teas go, I drink a lot of jasmine, oolong, and chamomile. I drink chai whenever I go out for Indian food. My favorite tea to drink cold is milk tea. The standard flavor you find in Japan is really tasty, but I love boba (bubble/tapioca) tea even more. There are so many flavors to choose from and I'm rarely ever disappointed. <3 I was surprised to discover that I really like grass jelly in the drinks too. The downside is that they're quite filling, and probably not that good for you compared to other teas. Still delicious, though!

I love tea, it's my all time beverage to relax with on a cold day [along with hot chocolate].
My favorite tea has to be Earl Grey with milk and sugar. My sister yells at me because you should never add milk to Earl Gray but it tastes soooo good with it. I've tried a raspberry tea but I find it too strong to my taste, but I have a feeling that it's a taste that needs to grow on me.
