Youtube cracking down on songs not from the US
Ok for the past few weeks now I got notices from Youtube that some of my videos had some music that was not aloud on there that includes Anime Soundtracks. So now I have to redo some of my videos because of this problem so if you guys are doing videos with anime soundtracks my suggestion don't or they will mute you.

They're becoming Nazi.
Which means soon enough...they'll have a lot less traffic on their website. I only listen to anime stuff almost. So when they get rid of that, it pisses me off. |
Well from the flags they sent me the music was from Japan and thought the Sony entertainment music industry IDK they might have some problems with them or something else, and for some reason they are muting my videos because of this.
|
Well, companies that own music will mute/and/or remove videos all the time from YouTube. If it says it's Sony Entertainment, that means that Sony owns that particular track/has an agreement with Google to take those particular videos off the site.
It happens a lot- some of my bands under Universal Music have also seen unofficial videos of them pulled. |
It's not that they're becoming nazis but have to comply with the Fair Use Act and other copyright laws that were created since Napster was closed down in 2000. I think the problem is that it's not that they're tracking down songs that aren't from the US but people who don't have permission to even use the songs in the first place.

It's not about being Nazis, jesus christ. It's called the people that OWN and MADE the music wanting their rights protected and Youtube not wanting to be sued over what dumbasses on the net do. It's called Youtube protecting itself, heaven forbid it infringes on anime weeaboo AMVs or what not.

Sorry but it ticks me off that people complain about Youtube following laws too. It's not Youtube, it's the copyright laws that protect property of whoever owns the music. Yes, it is illegal to use music that is not yours. Technically, if they wanted to be a dick about it, Sony could sue you since they own the music. It might seem silly but Copyright laws protect both big and little companies/people that own things. For instance, I had a story of mine stolen from someone and because of copyright laws I had a right to sue and get the money they wrongfully earned from my work. So yeah, I'm 100% for Youtube enforcing copyright laws/

I understand the need to follow laws, but it does kinda suck when you find a band on youtube and you fall in love with them, only to not be able to find them on itunes or in your local cd store, which some of us are loosing- 3 cd stores have closed in my city in the last 4 months. *sadface*

I agree with this. I feel like it's hard enough for musicians to make money or get big because everyone steals their music for free or puts it in videos on YouTube so that no one has to buy it. If you still want to make anime music videos, why don't you just make them in your programs and don't put it online? Or maybe you could put it on private on YouTube and only send it to your friends [I don't know if that would work]. Quote:
Don't you think the musicians are the ones getting screwed? |
