@Remyre: Shotgun is the type to weld a butcher's knife to a metal pole as a pole-arm. I know this lol. And if we find a replica of Masamune you can have it. As much as I LOVE Sephiroth and that sword, I'm better with multiple blades. I'm more like Roronoa Zoro than anyone. BUT if we find 2 replicas, I call dibs on the 2nd! :XD
@chemicalxnova: Don't worry, I got shotgun to join this too...though I didn't threaten him in his sleep.
@ShishaNoKuroNeko: You have a pretty get setup plan. Funny thing with me, I never think about the "After it's over" part. I think honestly after being in constant battle like that, I wouldn't want to go back to peace and would probably just travel around seeing how bad the country/world got jacked up.
Oh and Remyre, 7 pages now in this forum >.< Way to go!

This one would be impossible to locate unless you knew about it, and would have sections you must go through. It would be a tunnel underground. It would have a few surveillance systems, or if there was a lack of electricity, a warning system that would be triggered by a booby trap of some sort. Then, this said basement would be a storage section, hidden from prying eyes of guests. It would have nonperishable food items, water, medical supplies, ammunition, and weapons. I would also need to develop a system that would create these items when supplies run out. For example, like that one movie "waterworld" or something, he filters his own piss and drinks it. It is still liquid. Filter out the chemicals, acids, and whatnot, and you have h2o. Another example would be a contraption that melts metal into bullets. Food, I may have to find a way to grow it. Or farm small animals. Or hunt. As far as medical supplies go, learn from medical books. Steal medical supplies. Steal weapons. Take care of them, because those last. Don't let your weapons go neglected and rust, because these will be mans new bff. Anyway, after that, there would be the lookout and setting up a communication system. Find out from other survivors what the fuck is going on. Find out if there is a cure or a surefire way to terminate all zombies. And after the worst is done and there is some safety with everyday life, procreate with survivors. You don't even have to like them. It is your responsibility to keep the human race alive now. And no inbreeding. Write down who's baby-daddy is who's if ya have to. Anyway, that's what I got for now.

A bullet press and a furnace and a reloading tool are all you would need to make your own bullets tool wise. Making your own gunpowder could be a problem though. Best way for long term survival in an end of the world as we know it situation is to use some low tech weaponry that is easy to make such as crossbows. Best things is if your bolt (or arrow if you're using a bow) didn't bend on impact you can reclaim your ammo quickly. Also using balistas for tower/wall defenses could be done rather quickly. This will buy you the time to find, gather, and process the materials necessary for continued use of modern firearms. :D
All in all nice plan, very well thought out and leaves enough room for adaption should things go even more awry.
I heard somewhere that the Zombie Survival Guide said an oil tanker would be the most optimal place to hole up in a zombie attack. Question then would be how would one get to one and get all the soil and stuff to make the farm on the deck. hmm...

That's a very good plan!! We used to sit and plan this all out, we had drawn up a building we wanted to attempt to build. Only we'd have to have a safe place to stay, and go in groups to build, and have people be on watch so no one got hurt. Raising animals for food might not work, since we don't really know what kind of virus or whatever would cause the zombies in the first place... it might affect the livestock! And that just wouldn't be good at all. I think that growing our own vegetables, and whatever fruits we could would be the best. If we did raise livestock, or hunt, we would have to have a way to test the meat before we ate it just to be safe!! I never thought of the procreating though! lol, that one might be a little tough! XD Who knows. Still though, great plan!! It's always fun to hear about this stuff

hmm, well I doubt it! With no teeth, I dont think it works the same. Sometimes it's just a scratch that can infect you... so they could still be dangerous. I still wouldn't want to be gummed to death by a zombie though! lol

Get the Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic: The Gathering cards for me! lol That's actually a great idea. I imagine power will fail eventually so we will need entertainment or we'll go crazy....well...crazier.

That...is a good question. I don't think so but it could gum you I think. If the virus is the like one in Walking Dead, we are all already infected, the zombies just kill you and you come back so blood woulds wouldn't matter.
If it's like that Rage Virus, T-Virus, or G-Virus...well...we would be boned if we got scratched or anything.

It ain't the zombies I'd be worried about with Voodoo, it's everything else lol. The zombies are usually just dead people. They don't crave flesh or anything, but they are sturdy like humans.

Ah, I forgot about that. I would probably have to learn archery or how to make those explosives out of simple household ingredients. It's in the anarchist cookbook. I'll be sure to have a copy with me.

Well, I'd definitely like travel and see what damage there is, but I like the thought of waiting until the fatality rate is lower. Travel might be inevitable in this situation, anyway. Maybe travel like they do in resident evil. But then you have the problem of always looking for fuel.

Lol. Well, I figured small animal farming would be good. Find something unaffected by the virus. Maybe rabbits. They breed fast and make for a good meal. And you could breed them indoors and isolate them.

Depending on the strength of the jaw, it's possible that a zombie could still break the skin without its teeth. And if it can break the skin, it can infect you.
I generally follow the theory of science zombies. A disease that gets in the blood stream, works its way to the brain, kills the body and then takes over its basic motor controls from the brain stem. Between this limited control, and the decaying body, we get the shambling, non-sentient, zombies with (to some degree) working senses. Seems the most probable scenario.
And following its logic, one would need to consider that a zombie would probably be covered in bodily fluids, infected and otherwise. Any cuts or scrapes you have that a zombie makes contact with are a threat. Not just bites.
Of course, if Resident Evil-style zombies come around, we can throw that theory to the wall. We'll have bigger problems.

Didn't mean to gross you out, but I think a wee bit too in-depth on some of these things. Personally, I'd rather be a little disgusted but prepared than unsuspecting.
The main concern is blood, particularly if you're relying on melee weapons, which is a good plan. But people have a tendency to...burst. Dead people included. Best to keep your extremities covered. Long sleeves, gloves, masks or something on your face that doesn't restrict vision. Maybe a hat.
And on the point of gear, tight clothing is best. Nothing loose or hanging off of you. Too easy to grab for wandering zeds if they do get close. Hair should be held close to the head by some method or cut short.
