Even though I should be going to bed, I went to check my email (never did yet), and found this link on yahoo about what Men and Women want in a relationship. Please keep in mind all ages are reading this. But I would like to know what you would want out of a relationship.

What I would want out of a lover is:

• Someone who can put up with my attitude.
• Someone who will take time to understand and get to know me.
• Someone who isn't into the whole adult part of the relationship.
• And someone who will be their self as well as have a good head on their shoulders.

So tell me what you would want. I figured this was a good enough discussion for this chosen area, or so I hope it is.

I think that everyone wants different things from a relationship and much of finding a partner has to do with findings someone who wants the same or compatible things from life with you.

The things I wanted and found (some of which I hadn't realised afterwards):
-Someone who can enjoy the lighter side of a relationship and can face the serious committed side of it as well.
-A companion and ally, not just a friend and lover.
-Mutual respect.
-Someone who doesn't share a lot of their human quirks with others, except for you.

well theres not really alot I want in a relationship.

I mainly want someone who is loyal to me and wont do something like cheat.
if you can make me laugh every time I see you, your good in my books :)
if you can put up with my moods and my attitude ;)

No cheating or lying is my number one thing. I also want someone that's also my best friend. Someone that I can take places like concerts with me and that doesn't mind going on long road trips to the middle of nowhere for no reason. Someone that'll cuddle with me and watch cartoons. Someone that's creative and isn't all about themselves and won't take advantage of my giving nature. They have to have a vagina.

That's about it, I think. I'm really picky about who I date so if they don't give off the right vibe I tend to not go on a second date.

I've already got what I want :yes: Sounds cheesy, I know. The only thing I could ask for is for us to live together easily. It's causing us a lot of stress right now. (We're in a LDR).

I liked that wording best. Not just a best friend, but someone that sticks with me and can go out and get things done with me. I hated guys that'll call me every night and tell me stupid things. My guy needs to help me fight off the bad things in life.

My boyfriend and I met in high school, and only after a few months, he had to go to college in a different state for a couple of years. We stayed together (just had our four year back in October) and I'm glad we spent a little time apart. It makes you different from those lame couples that see each other everyday and make out in the park and whatnot.

Just keep in touch and don't be too barring on each other.
Some day, you'll be together again and you'll have so many stories to share.

wow, I wasn't expecting five replies but that's not a bad thing. It just makes me curious to why there isn't a guy on this page just yet lol.

I probably should say I might have high standards, but, depending on the person it may be lowered. I'm twenty-one now, so I've learned not to go for the boys (this doesn't always mean underage)

What I want from a relationship is:

-Someone who likes me "just the way I am". I got that from a film, yes, but the message is the same. I want someone who can put up with my moods and the fact that I'm difficult. Someone that doesn't mind the fact that I'm difficult. Someone that isn't bothered my my ditsy moments or the fact I'm not pretty or girly or simpering.

-A guy that doesn't give up everything for me. Yes, okay, I would love a hoodie. But if it's cold, why the fuck would you give me your jumper? I don't want him to give up his friends, his style or his hobbies for me.

-Someone who can handle getting beat on the xbox. ;D

-Someone who I can joke and laugh with.

-Someone who shows me the same love and respect that I show them.

What I look for in a girlfriend

Smarts. You can't fix stupid.
A good conversationalist.
Someone who shares the same intrest as me. I'm a geek and proud of it.
Someone with a good sense of humor. Laughter is important to me.
Someone who won't think less of me because I am open about my emotions.

I don't think that's a bad thing. I was like that for a long time and right now I do not want a relationship because I'm focusing more on myself. I told my sister several times before it's better to go for what you want then settle for some ass. If you want to be single nothing's wrong with that either. I actually find it better if someone can be single and not worry about attracting other people.

I have everything I want already in my boyfriend. He's my best friend, gentle lover, my therapist when I need someone to talk to, and the one to kiss away my tears. We can sit side-by-side and never need to say a word. We're not afraid to talk when something is bothering us, especially when its about each other, but we accept each others faults and love each other more for them.

He's the most perfect guy for me, and while others may not always see it, we are perfectly matched.

I want a boy who will....

• love me for who i am and not think I am weird.
• do the dishes for me.~
• I can tell my deepest fears and secrets.
• be honest with me.
• have a GOOD sence of humor.

What I want in a relationship:

• A warm heart full of kindness, generosity, forgiveness, acceptance, honesty, openness, trust, and the perfect friendship.
• Acceptance of the fact that I'm shy, quiet, awkward, and I make no sense most of the time.
• The understanding that I love Glee and I revolve my life around it.
• Cooking!
• Interest in the hobbies I do (i.e. the interest in wanting to read what I've written or see what I've made).
• Commitment and the understanding that I love to be held and kissed and I love to get attention.
• Bookworm partners!
• Respects the idea of having your own opinion but not bashing other's.
• The trust that they can come to me for anything whether if it's just for me to listen or for me to hold them.

I would want someone who:
I can relate to.
Is respectful
Has some of the same views on the world as I do
Supports gay marriage/rights
Honesty is the most important thing next to the communication
Someone who is interested in anime (since I am a geek)
Someone supportive of my goals in life.
That is about it. (Well the most important things)

I just want someone who I could honestly say I love. I have a girlfriend and I can honestly say that I love her, she is all that I want, and I am glad to be in lesbians with her xD.

I found just about everything I want in a relationship with my boyfriend, I can't believe how lucky I am. We've been together for six months now and it just keeps getting better.

• Somebody who is both my friend and my lover, and who would support me/stand by my side no matter what
• He has to be smart! If he is stupid then he is useless to me (and there are different kinds of stupid)
• He has to be gentle and caring, and care about my needs as much as I care about his. Basically, be a good guy.
• He has to be polite/not act like an idiot. I don't want to be embaressed to be with him when I go out with him. He has to have a good character.
• I like a guy who has a good sense of humor and can make me smile.
• He has to have a thick skin. One of my personality flaws, which only shows when I'm comfortable, is that I like messing around and walk on egg shells, and he has to be able to take it and not take me seriously. Luckily, my boyfriend is just as bad as I am and throws it back at me lol. (I told him that I when I come to his apartment it'll no longer be to see him rather it would be to play his one computer game and I asked him what he would do if my character on it became a higher level than his and he told me that he'd congratulate me and than delete it as soon as I left ;-; )
• I have to be able to trust him. If I cannot trust him, then what is the point of being in a relationship? I cannot tolerate cheating or being lied to.
• Somebody I can talk to/text everyday even if only for a little bit. And I have to see him at least once or twice a week. (Which is all I get >>)
• Somebody who can handle my need to cuddle
• I have to feel comfortable and not be pressured, or I'd probably walk away.
• Somebody who makes me feel good =)
• I like dorky guys, they are so cute!
• He has to be a man and not a boy.
• Just somebody who accepts me for me, flaws and all, and somebody I can accept in return.

This is bigger than I intended >.>; I think I started listing characteristics my boyfriend has.
