Cape Coral, Florida! :D

A place that can blow up and no one would even realize it..-__-"

The Wandering Poet 09-28-2012 05:36 PM

@ Chik - not true... over 100,000 people would realize it. [lol]

I'm located in the beautiful sunny warm Charleston South Carolina, USA although It looks as if we might actually have a fall, it's getting chilly......AMAZING!

I'm from a little spit of a town just south of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It's the definition of suburban around here. My friend and I are sheltered suburban kids. (We're not kids anymore, but you get the picture) We're so sheltered, in fact, that hookers and hobos are tourist attractions for us. ...It's sad.

Ferra 09-30-2012 12:56 PM

By tourist attractions... do you mean you go and pay to take pictures with them?

I also grew up in a pretty safe suburban area, so we've never had a noticeable hobo/hooker population in my hometown, but I've been to big cities enough times that I think I can confidently say that I've seen a hooker. >__>;

And the homeless tend to congregate on busy street corners, so sadly they're not an uncommon sight. I remember walking downtown in Seattle at night with my family as a young girl. We walked past an area where a bunch of homeless people had set up camp for the night. One of the camps had a bunch of children's toys, which shocked me since up until then I naively assumed that only adults lived on the streets.

The Wandering Poet 09-30-2012 07:24 PM

@ Ferra - Yeah you'd be surprised at how young some of them are :(
In this area (seattle area) the childrens shelters are almost always full

Ferra 09-30-2012 11:16 PM

Yeah, it's really sad. [:(] I wish it was a problem with a straightforward answer.

The Wandering Poet 10-01-2012 07:31 AM

Straight forward answer... get more jobs out there so kids can find work too o.o
Getting a job around here with a 2 year degree feels nearly impossible.

Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England! Anyone else or just me!?

Fun Fact: The university here is the 2nd best in the world. It dropped earlier this year behind MIT in the USA but held the number 1 spot in 2010 and 2011! :)

The Wandering Poet 10-11-2012 12:10 AM

Ahh sorry GG, drunk Americans will vote higher... it's probably still better.

Grumman_Goose 10-11-2012 11:36 PM

Damn right it is! ;) our university is like hundreds of years old so our buildings look like Hogwarts! D: that automatically makes us better [t2h] ;)

jellysundae 10-12-2012 02:09 PM

I wonder how pissed off Oxford is at getting pwned by Cambridge [ninja]

The Wandering Poet 10-12-2012 02:16 PM

Quite certain Harvard is pretty high up on the list too... if only because of this song XD

jellysundae 10-12-2012 02:27 PM

The Wandering Poet 10-12-2012 02:43 PM

RoadToGallifrey 10-12-2012 03:12 PM

RoadToGallifrey 10-12-2012 03:31 PM

@Poet: It does and you know it! D:

jellysundae 10-12-2012 03:31 PM

RoadToGallifrey 10-12-2012 03:33 PM

The Wandering Poet 10-12-2012 03:37 PM

RoadToGallifrey 10-12-2012 03:39 PM
