This interested me! As I've heard it pronounced by an Aussie. Actually it's mentioned in a song, "six months in a leaky boat" by Split Enz, who became Crowded House. They pronounced it Ay-Oh-Teh-ah-rower.

I work in a supermarket in a tourist town, and when I travel, I travel by tourist bus, so I'm probably overexposed to all songs that are "kiwiana" :lol: (It's ever so slightly painful at times.)
