If you go out on your bike people communicate with you...
When you walk your dog people communicate with you...
If you just walking people keep out of your way...

anyone else find this correct?

On bikes, by communicate you mean drivers swearing and honking at them, yeah. xD
I think people communicate with the dog, rather than the owner, though lots of people use them to pick up chicks, just like babies.

My hubby and I go walking just about every week, and if we pass other people we'll usually say hello. One time we passed a house with a couple people sitting on the porch and we chatted with them for a while about their silly dog. xD

People keep out of the way no matter what. Orz

I think having our dog might entice people to talk, but it's not happened yet!

I remember walking along the sidewalk one day, alone, in the daylight and someone who was at their car in a hotel parking lot asked me why I wasn't smiling... I thought that was so strange.. Why would I be walking down the street with a smile on my face if I was alone? :XD

i can be rather intimidating, so i don't really experience people sparking conversation with me very often. it doesn't help that whenever i'm outside, i usually have earbuds in for music, so i'm basically the least approachable person on the planet.

On the flip side of this though, whenever I'm indoors, like stores and whatnot, I don't mind being approached for help. I kind of like it. XD

Depends on the area. Outside of the city people are pretty friendly and say Hi even if you're walking. In the city no one gives a damn about anyone and the most anyone will say is begging for money.

The last time I went for a walk, some little kid was making rude gestures at me. :?

I'd go for a lot more walks if I knew for sure I'd be left the hell alone. Although also on that walk some little shih tzu ran up to me and wanted me to pet him. That was cute, I don't mind that. Just friendly animals, no people, please.

I don't generally talk to people walking their dogs. I'll say "aww," at the dog, but then the owner gets a look on their face like "leave me alone, you're the fifth person to have wanted to pet my dog, I just want to walk!" so I just smile at the dog and leave them alone.

If I'm walking my dog, people are more likely to talk to me, because she's a conversation starter.^^ But people do communicate with me sometimes when I'm on foot without her, as well.

I don't own a bike, so I can't say anything there, except that it's really weird when a passerby on a bike tries to start up a conversation with me when I'm on foot. I've had that happen a couple of times, and it just doesn't work out well.

I rode my bike into town yesterday and as I approached the round-about at the entrance of my neighborhood this lady that was going around it started honking at me. I wasn't even moving! She stopped short and skid a bit in her car. I was just standing drinking some water, my hands were off the handlebars and I was just chillin. I looked at her and she was yelling inside her car and making rage-filled hand motions and I just kinda giggled.

I got into town and I realized that I forgot my bike chain but I wasn't really worried about it getting stolen since I was just waiting at the park for some friends. I just put my bike up against the rack. I started walking towards the bathrooms and this guy walks up to me and starts telling me that my bike could get stolen while I was in the bathroom and I was like, "Could you watch it for me, or were YOU planning on stealing it?" Then I walked back. CREEPY and rude.

While I'm walking people ignore me. That's that.

Nay I find it exactly the opposite. If I'm walking alone I'll get stopped by all sorts of people. Even if I try to keep walking, they'll get louder and I feel bad so I have to stop for a minute or...ten. x.x I think it must be the way I look. Attractive young adult, long red hair...I even get ride offers and I don't have to try hitch-hiking. >.> (Mind you I never take the men up on that offer!) However, if I'm on a bike, I'm GOING. No one bothers me when I'm on my bike. XD It's quite kind too, since I startle so easily. I'd probably fall off. ._.
