Salt challenge or Cinnamon?
So, have you heard of these two challenges?
The salt challenge isn't really a challenge at all, more of..well I don't know what it could be called. It's where you put a big pile of salt on some spot (i did my arm) on your body. You hold an ice cube on it and hold it there until the ice melts and it leaves a big puffy spot on your arm that starts swelling up. In about a week it turns into a nasty looking burn. The Cinnamon challenge is where you try to eat an entire tablespoon of Cinnamon and you are supposed to swallow it. I tried and just spit it out. It's nasty and dry and kind of spicy. Has any one else done these challenges? If so, what did you think when you did it? Has anyone here accomplished the cinnamon challenge? |
I've done the cinnamon challenge and almost died. Dx It was TERRIBLE! I was hacking and coughing all over the place, cinnamon puffs were flying out of my mouth and my eyes were watering. It was not fun to say the least until my friend did it after me. Then it was funny. xD
|
I have heard of both and I have yet to do either!
My friends have done the cinnamon challenge and they were coughing and hacking and spitting up. My cousin did it and succeeded! I was so surprised. Some guys have done the cinnamon challenge but they were so stupid with it... this one guy was jumping over chairs and tables. No one I know has done the salt challenge yet. |

The salt one isn't so bad. |
Does the salt one actually work!? I have always wondered about that one.
The cinnamon challenge was funny to watch. I want to do it.... |

BLEHK. I tried the cinnamon challenge, and I was coughing up cinnamon for days. I actually had swallowed most of it, until my mouth became super dry and my body was going into resistance mode. There was maybe a dime-sized amount still left in my mouth when I ran to the sink to spit it out. It was dreadful...worst thing EVAR. For the next two days I tasted cinnamon every time I burped or coughed. HORRIBLE. Fun to say I did it though :D
As for the ice challenge, I've never heard of it! Sounds kind of painful... ~Cloud Strife~: Did it hurt? :/ |
I've done the salt challenge. I had placed the ice cube on the back of my hand, and a few days later it peeled off during class. Only after I did it that I heard it was like getting frostbite and I could've got an infection.
I first heard about the cinnamon challenge a year or so ago, but I have yet to do it. Don't a lot of people throw up? |
LoveAria:
It dodnt really hurt, but it did leave a mark and it burned just barely. Nonsensical: Some people throw up, I personally didn't, I just spit it out. It's a rather dreadful taste to have in your mouth, that's for sure. |
I've been meaning to do the Cinnamon challenge for a while, but I lose interest since it isn't like someone actually said, "I DARE you to do the Cinnamon Challenge." If it isn't a dare, I don't really commit to doing it. BUT I did do the salt thing once. -shudder- But we did a large scale salt challenge where we put it up and down our shins and put ice on it. (Don't do it.) That was terrible. It didn't hurt, it just looked NASTY.
|
I really want to try these! I was going to do the cinnamon challenge the other day, but we didn't have any in the house and I was too lazy to go back out to the shop. xD

I know it's horrible, I still want to try it though. xD

XD Alright. I guess I was askin for it. I'll record it and put here then, when I do it...

Hey guys, how is everyone tonight? I must say I have heard on the cinnamon challenge, but not the salt one. Cinnamon on I can see might be amusing, just like getting someone to eat hot peppers, but my question is why would anyone want to hurt them selves on purpose? I read the post stating that it does not hurt but I mean you are causing a really nasty skin irritation for what? It doesn't seem all that intelligent to me to be honest lol.

I've done... worse.
I went to an all-boys summer camp and eating challenges were a popular pastime among the counselors in the kitchen after-hours. Except they weren't all eating challenges. A lot of them were snorting challenges. >_> I ended up snorting a bunch of cayenne pepper mixed with onion powder. I then proceeded to chug a half-gallon of milk to ease the pain. I found out later from my brother (who had previously gone to the camp) that he had once snorted chunky salsa in a similar situation. Oh the memories. |
Heard of the cinnamon challenge, not heard of the salt challenge. Not as the challenge part anyway, just the effects.
I thought very briefly about doing the cinnamon challenge and then read this: Quote:
No interest in the salt challenge either. |

I have heard of both, though personally I would never do either.
The ice thing is kind of a bad idea, the ice and salt mixing does something similar to a dry ice burn if I remember right. It leaves the skin all purple and seemingly 'inflated'. Just kinda nasty to look at. Cinnamon thing.. ick. No spoonfuls of powder in my mouth, please. xD |
Haha, the cinnamon challenge is the devil. It's probably the worst thing I've ever done.
|
I decided to hop on the bandwagon and try to cinnamon challenge in front of my fencing buddies. Big mistake. I sucked some cinnamon into my throat, which triggered a gag reflex, and I straight puked everywhere. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. :P
|
Doing the Cinnamon challenge, along with any large quantity of powder that when taken in a spoonful just creates a ball, that when you bite creates more and more balls(that also send small amounts into your throat) is VERY bad for your health. It can, as Ikuto quoted, do all that, AND it can severely dehydrate you.
As for myself, Ive never done it. And I also stopped my cousin from trying to get my uncle with it. Even had to put him in a head-lock to stop it...which scared the whole family because he is a much more muscular guy than me, and he grew up on a farm, while I grew up in the city...living quietly. Salt challenge...well, that's just plain stupid if you ask me. Its doing actual damage to your skin. You might think its not, but it definitely is. I do enough damage to my hands/fore-arms at work to know better. |
I would never try the cinnamon challenge. One time, I was intending to make cinnamon sugar toast and didn't know that I picked up the cinnamon and not the cinnamon sugar instead. I had to spit out my bite. It was so gross. I but maybe I might have enough guts to try the salt challenge in time.
|
Hehe...I bet that toast was horrible.
