I would take Sawyer over my name.
Cydney, not only uncommon for a girl but then my parents had the audacity to spell it uncommonly too causing strangers to spell it from their own guess in a number of different colorful names.
Then there is the other thing I hate about it, it has no meaning. You know like Sam means 'Heard by God' or 'Voice of God'. Yeah Cydney or even Sydney doesn't mean squat.
I wish my name were Luna.

Doesn't Sydney mean wide island? >_>
That probably doesn't make you feel any better though.

Not that I have ever found. It always comes up blank when I search it or just the name of a City in Australia. But if that was true, no not helpful. That's not a good meaning, thanks anyway.

My Name's Wendy, and a lot of people like it but its really annoying and its easily said ina patronising tone of voice. :/ its that darn 'ee' sound on the end. and it sounds crap with almost any surname (but my own... And maybe some short chinese ones)

She probably meant either, mainly surname. Most people have surnames and not nicknames, not counting me. But I'd agree either way, it doesn't sound the best. Except with mine: Wolfie! It's got the 'ee' sound at the end and makes it sound all adorable, when I'm... not.

Please don't correct me unless it is obvious. Wendy, (the first name) sounds bad with any Surname. (the last name) Which is why I said 'with' meaning paired to.
:/
I think, in my opinon, that the name Wendy doesn't sound very good with most Surnames.
---------- Post added 06-23-2012 at 04:41 PM ----------
I think adding the EE sound is nice, but my name already has the EE sound :( So I can't get away from it, and I can't have a shortened name like "Wen" or "Wend" cause thats just terrible! :'D Althought I am warming to Wen.

Well, no. My first name's probably kind of common by now.
My legal initials, without my two Christian names, spell out G.A.S though. I think that's strange. My parents didn't even realize it when they named me. :B

I don't have a.. unique name, but I know this little girl on TV who does. She showed up in this game show and introduced herself as 'Renaissance'.
Not the everyday name you'd come by, but it kinda sounds nice.

My first name is pretty comon although it's spelled a bit differently. Normally it's spelled "Kelly" or "Kelley" but when the nurse asked Mam how she wanted my name spelled on the birth certificate she chose to have an "ie" at the end so I feel unique. It was confusing having two people with the name Kellie in a class (even if one was epelled with a Y) and then add to that there was a girl called Ceilidh (Kaylee) .....yeah.....confusing.
My surname is probably a bit weird to anyone outside Scotland. It's Dingwall. Dingwall is also the name of a town near where I live. I know that it used to be an old viking meeting place/trade town so that's quite cool. I feel special.
Appart from that I'm pretty ordinary although our cat is called Wicked because he's a little devil.
My english teacher named his son "Rubin" if that counts. I can't remember the middle name but I'm pretty sure it started with a Z. No joke.
Oh, and one of my friends is called Cailean (That's pronounced Cah-Line) It's teh Gaelic version of the name Collin. A lot of people think he's a girl before they meet him because of his name. They think we're saying Caroline or something. Poor guy. :)

Sadly my name is all too normal.
Though I love rare names!
Forrester was the name of this one guy I was totally in love with.
Ignoring the fact he was perfect in ever way I wanted...
His name was just a huge freaking bonus! :squee:

Umsies. Well, my mother said if I was born with brown/black hair I'd be named Tommy. But since I was born with light blonde hair, I was named Terry. The EVER* most annoying part of it is that, everyone I don't know deliberately writes my name as "Terri" when they're clearly given a piece of paper with my information that says "Terry."
And throughout the years, as I went to 7 different schools, everyone thought "Terry" was a new boy in class.
It never failed that as I was introduced, they would go "Whaaaaat?! I thought we were getting another boy." every time.
I find it strange that girls are given boys names. I don't like it at all. Tommy would've been worse, though.

Hmmm, my dad's name is Atenogenes, which most people find hard to pronounce. It's rather humorous watching them try to say it. For the longest time I thought my uncle's name was just Conce, until recently I found out it's Concepción.
I don't know what my grandparents were thinking while naming their children. Then again, they did have nine kids, so maybe she was running out of names.
