Need Ideas for a Human Cosplay Chess Match~
The club I'm a part of is trying to figure out what our next theme should be for our chess match. To give you an idea of what we're looking for, here are some ideas....

Cosplay suggests to me you guys are operating a human chess match, I think it's be pretty rad to do heroes and villains.

Well, we need to fill the entire board, so it needs to be somewhat broad so we all have an option as to who we want to be. Anyway, we need somewhere there we can have 32 dress up in different yet epic outfits. We will then act, in character, out fights. Some fights are legit weapon battles, others might be a singing contest or even a card duel.
We're trying to figure out which will be not only easy, but will allow fill up all the spaces on the board while allowing people an option as to who they want to be. Like, for me, I'm torn between... Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII Captain Jack Sparrow Sokka from Avatar the Last Airbender Shifty from Happy Tree Friends I really want to be a funny character. So if you have suggestions, you should offer them up. XD |
Maybe you should choose an extremely broad topic because no matter what you're going to get someone who just has no idea who they want to be within a general idea.

I believe our fights are on YouTube. Just google "Tora-Con Chess." Toracon could be spelled like that, too.

I just watched last year's match, it was pretty entertaining despite the fact I couldn't hear what a lot of the people were saying. You guys did a great job.
As for themes, how about "Melee vs Magic" or "Stealth vs Style" ? |
Awww thanks! We've improved with the volume A TON this year. Actually got mics (thank god). Still have a lot of work to be done, but it's getting better with each year. :)
