What's in Your Dream World?

Not long ago I had a very... strange dream. Okay, more like 'deranged'. I mean, I've had the strangest dreams before, very odd, borderline horror movie, but sometimes a dream comes to you that just blows you away!

Here's mine:

Quote:

I find myself standing in the middle of what I can only imagine is a hospital hallway. The walls, ceiling, and floor are all white, of course, but filthy, smeared with mud, crusted with dirt, and rust-colored handprints. Behind me, as I turn around, where a set of double doors should be, a curtain of running blood falls from the jamb, but doesn't pool necessarily as quickly as it falls. It vanishes into a drain. I walk through it, but it doesn't stain me as if it were liquid, and I'm accompanied by someone else.

I see him very well. A man that appears younger than I am, definitely shorter and a bit smaller. He has brown hair, and it sticks up all over, with very odd blue eyes and a faint smile. We speak, but I can't, or am not supposed to, hear what is said between us as we go into a room to the right. Inside is what looks like a surgeon's prep area, before they begin an operation, but instead of running-water sinks, a silver metal raised trough stands beside the door we've just come from. Without asking or hesitating, I go to the trough and inspect my hands. For some reason, they're splattered with blood. I clean my hands, and as I do, the water becomes black and thick, and bubbles up, almost as though it's overflowing, and splatters the ground.

The younger man beside me calls a janitor as though it's nothing unusual, and we go through a different door. This leads us to a stairwell we climb up for a time, our conversations still unable to be understood but this time it's because our footsteps are so loud in the stairwell, which is also just as terribly filthy as the halls outside.

When we leave the stairwell, we come out into a large walkway. The entire wall in front of us is nothing but windows, but each pane is smeared with blood, things written and scribbled, some panes even missing entirely, broken out. But we pass this area and enter a different room, which looks like the hospital's cafeteria, and take a seat side-by-side.

After a few minutes of whispering, which sounds like several snakes hissing at one another, we focus on a young and obviously very fit man, sitting near the corner of the cafeteria. We approach him, and with very few words of persuasion, get him to follow us back, retracing our steps to the bottom floor and through a different door; a plaque on the doors read 'O.R.'

Within what I can only assume is the operating room, the blue-eyed man and I are alone, and the one we found in the cafeteria is lying on an operating table. The younger man and I both wear a white coat, a universally known item of scientist and doctor alike, but the patch on our arm is a Caduceus, but altered in which the snakes are impaled, one beheaded, and the wings nothing but bare bone.

The 'operation' is as follows:

We took out the brain first, and the eyes, taking care of the head. Then we emptied the majority of the vital organs, without worrying about those that could easily be copied using inorganic items. We stuffed the body of the man with cotton and sewed him up, placing him in the freezer and nearly forgetting about him it seems, while we used the organs to fill the spaces of a strange, wiry robot-like thing that resembled a skeletal, but alive, human. It didn't seem to have skin yet, because close up, you could see the muscle, sinew, tendons and white that was obviously bone, but overtaken by what resembled steel.

While the odd young man worked on that, I focused on the one whose organs we took. There was nothing more to do with him, so I stared at him until I was called away again to focus on the... 'invention'.

I'm not a complete psychopath, I'm sure. But every now and then I have a dream something like this, where I just can't describe how strange it is, other than a plain old description of what happened.

Has anyone else had dreams they just can't explain, recurring dreams, or just memorable dreams? What do you think about them?

I do all the time. I have a VERY overactive imagination and it all comes out in my dreams. I hate when dreams try to tell you something but you can't figure it out then later it makes sense.

I've had dreams I can't explain all the time. :) I've had quite a few weird ones, but I've had quite a few good ones that I just absolutely adore~. I can remember them pretty well. Granted, there's still weirdness, I believe there's a bit of weirdness in all of my dreams (at least the ones I an remember) but when they're not weird and unbelievable, they're weird and enjoyable. The dreams I remember I can remember vividly. >w>

Well other then two, all of my dreams have been unique, some have been significant, More like premonitions, there was one where I was walking around a large forecourt, like some sort of motorcar festival and there were glass buildings and all the latest models were on show and like in all my dreams I ended up dying in a spectacular manner, but it turned out to be a car village in Inverness, Scotland as I recognised it when I was passing through on Monday. There are other instances where things like this have happend but I can't remember them off the top of my head, I'll be sure to post again when I remember them.

Sounds kinda like Silent Hill. Maybe you are meant to clean up after physical or psychic messes?

It kind of reminded me of Silent Hill, actually. But I don't know. I'm good at cleaning up actual messes, though it seems more like the building of something, hence the end of the dream in which my unknown partner and I created some human-robot... thing.

I don't know, it confuses me. All my dreams are so far apart from one another, but still have that psychotic, bloody aspect that makes it almost deranged, or similar to a horror movie.

Have you seen outside of the building? Like a street or city?

Tachigami 07-21-2012 06:52 PM

No. The windows we passed only looked onto an overcast sky. Nothing specific outside the building.

Wow, I've never had any dreams quite like that. My oddest ones were of my basement turning into a war zone and my backyard a cemetery with something that granted wishes at the end. I think my wish got me killed. Luckily there was a cemetery on hand.

I recently had a dream that caused me to wake up smiling and inspired to write a story based off of it.
Now for all of you Gleeks or Chris Colfer lovers out there, listen close.
I wasn't sure if I was me or if I was Rachel Berry.
And I wasn't sure if Chris was himself or Kurt Hummel.
But I'm more sure I was me and he was him more than I was Rachel and he was Kurt.
So anyways.
We were in a department store looking at clothes when all of a sudden, Chris starts talking about how he found out I had a crush on him.
I'm freaking out and I feel so embarrassed that I want to cry.
And all of a sudden, he smiles and says he'll make out with me.
So immediately, we find an empty dressing room and I literally attack him and we make out.
He murmured, "Oh my gosh..." into the kiss and I can't tell if it's a good oh-my-gosh or a bad oh-my-gosh.
And then when we finish, his cell phone goes off and he leaves.
My dream ended there.
When I woke up, I wanted to write an AU story on Chris Colfer and me being besties and him being Bi and me falling for him and all that jazz.
Never did write it though.
Saw it as highly unwanted towards the Gleek/Chris Colfer Lover crowd.

I usually have a lot of weird dreams.

I have recurring dreams where I'm Marty McFly, from Back to the Future. Doc would be there too at times, and we'd go places and travel through time. Sometimes, I dream about travel (not as Marty) through trains or boats or planes: those are pretty fun. I once had a dream that I was a disciple of Jesus, which is funny, since I'm agnostic. Most of the time, I'll have a recurring dream where I'm playing with Barbie dolls; it kinda creeps me out that it's the most recurring of my dreams--I'm thinking that it has to do with the fact that I'm going to be a college freshman, and I miss being a kid sometimes. Yeah.
