Well this was the first Thanksgiving my Boyfriend roommates and I had without parents. I spear-headed the whole thing and we made... Turkey, Ham, Green Bean Casserole, Mashed Potatoes, Salad, Deviled eggs, Cranberry sauce, Candied Sweet Potatoes. I made Cheesecake from scratch (aside from the crust), Pumpkin pie, butterscotch and Vanilla Pudding. I cooked most of the things (with help). I did not cook the ham, the only thing I did not assist with. I have been running around for the last two days plus the planning for the last week or so. I also burned three of my fingers (pointer, middle, and ring) on my left hand. I was re-heating the mashed potatoes in the oven and pulled them out with a gloved oven Mitt (not used to those). I took it off without realizing it and grabbed the bowl... . Other than that is is so fun.

What did you have to eat?
Did you make, aid, eat it?
First time like mine or what?

It's been great actually, got to play piano for my father's side of the family, and my aunt's. It would be kind of nice if families were closer and had more time to spend with each other.

Really great!
We had three friends, myself and a British girl (who had never witnessed a Thanksgiving before, and was curious) got together and had pretty much the full experience (sans the dozens of family members hanging about): Turkey, cranberry sauce, broccoli and rice casserole (which is what I made), rolls, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top... and pumpkin pie. It was absolutely delicious.

I'm really, really glad I found people to celebrate it with me!

Is Thanksgiving the 22nd or 21st? Either way, it's just another normal day for me...a hectic day of work with some procrastinating in between, since we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here where I live. xD;

I kinda miss eating a roast turkey...slathered in gravy and mushrooms. Mmm. * Q*

I suppose I could have been better if I had more sleep. I slept the whole day away. I don't mind, it's nothing new. :3

I had it at my apartment complex as my parents live an hour away and my mom had to work retail on Thanksgiving. I had seen them earlier in the week as my dad took me to a doctor appointment.

Anyway one of the staff members here with help cooked the dinner...we had green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing and gravy! There were cakes, cookies and pie for dessert. It was all very delicious.

My great-grandmother passed away this summer, so her daughter, my grandma refused to have Thanksgiving with us "because it wouldn't be the same". So my family invited friends over instead of relatives. We regret nothing because we all drank and ate pie and had a good time. Coming to work today was something else, I was still tired and stuffed from the five day weekend. :P

My coworker said her Thanksgiving was awful because all she had to eat was grilled cheese, because she's a vegetarian. I was like "what about the mashed potatoes? Or the greenbeans.. or the cranberries.. and oh god I'm hungry" she's not my favorite coworker so I actually didn't listen to her response, just remember her saying that her parents refused to get a tofu turkey and it made her mad. Kay.

Tofu turkey? Really? They make those things?

We did the usual -- go up to my parents house and my husband spends the whole day cooking in the kitchen. I love it as I don't get asked to join in. I'm not really big on cooking....just the eating part!!

We then just kinda hung out watched a movie. The dinner was fabulous and I feel like I've put on a few pounds over the weekend. D:
