As the post says are you a leader or Follower? Do you think that there is such things as a leader and a follower? Do you classify yourself with any of them or are you unsure.

I believe in leaders and followers. I myself don't think I'm either. I do not want/like being a leader nor can I see myself as a follower; though more so on follower side. If anything I think I would be considered "support". I listen to whatever the leader says, within reason. If the leader is being unreasonable with something I will not allow that to happen. I will fight for what I think is right. For example, my boyfriend is the leader of our group. And he can be unfair a bit sometimes. Say he were to get angry at someone for trying to change his plans for something. I would step in and either agree with my boyfriend (if his plans were more convenient) Or I would tell him that I think that the other person addition/change is better and should be implemented. Other than things like/similar to that I prefer following.

A bit of both actually. *laughs*
I'm quite a fan of following the crowd, but with my own flair. It's that individual flair though that tends to get people fallowing me.

I'm also a support mostly. I like planning things, but I'm horrible at making the full decision without checking to see if anyone else has ideas. Even my birthday parties. I make the basic plan then ask for input.

I just do my own thing and people follow me. I kinda just go with the flow so in that sense I'm a follower but I'm also not too much of a follower to the point where I'm just going to let people lead me around all the time. I'm independent and if I want to do something I do it.

That is a good thing to have. I'm don't think you intended it like this (I hope ) but you make it sound like being a follower is a bad thing when you say "...too much of a follower to the point where I'm just going to let people lead me around all the time..." Without followers there can be no leaders. Just chaos.

I do my own thing. I have a hard time being a follower completely, I have too many opinions and quirks for it, but I'm pretty easygoing at the end of the day, so I don't really know what that makes me.

Both. I'm in the management field. I like the be the second in charge and work best under those conditions right behind the leader but still leading others.
I'm capable of being an effective leader but only for a period of time and I really dislike the limelight.

I think for me it depends more on the situation and the kind of leadership it calls for.

I don't know, really. I tend to kind of go off on my own and then people follow me. But it really depends on who I'm around. A lot of times I find that I don't really like it when all the attention is placed onto me. It's a bit uncomfortable.

A bit of both-- I like to think of myself as Vice-President. Have someone to answer to, but then have my own minions *cough* I mean followers as well. If no one takes charge though, then I will just to get the ball rolling, but I don't like being #1 for long.

Of course my co-workers may (lovingly) disagree since my bossy know-it-all attitude can come across less sheepish and more commander-in-cheif lol

I think I have it in me to be a leader but I definitely do not get paid enough at my current job to want to deal with all the BS that comes with insubordination, or other bossy people that don't know what they are doing.

Lots of #2s in here huh? It's like being a leader but with a third of the pressure, haha.

XD I totally agree with the pay thing-- I feel that anyone rarely feels they are paid enough for the BS that comes with leading.

Thus we are all geniuses for wanting to be #2

If it isn't going to lead to anything bad or dangerous, I'm a follower most of the time. I just go with it and the people around me. I've got social problems so being a leader would terrify me. :P I know when to say no, though.

I'm not really sure which category I fit into. I've been known for having my opinion decided for me by others, in fact to this day I worry to an almost obsessive point what people think of me. Which tend to be follower qualities. But at the same time, I'm a complete natural at public speaking, and if given a hard, metaphorical kick in the ass, I CAN do things independently and accomplish some really amazing stuff. But I don't do it unless I REALLY want to, or if I have someone's help.

So I guess I'm kind of a lazy leader?
I feel like that isn't quite right, but whatever

It depends on the situation for me. If I'm participating in a group effort and I recognize that there's a lack of leadership that's bringing things down, then I often will put myself in that role to make sure things run smoothly.

A recent example was a Christmas party last week: I decided to go at the last minute but arrived early. The people "in charge" turned out to be very disorganized and a lot of things still needed to be done so the party could actually start. I stepped in to help out with the decorating, organized the money and made sure the right people were paid, and ran and bought the last of the supplies that were needed. A lot of people thought I was the one who organized the party when I wasn't technically even supposed to be there.

That said, I don't like to volunteer to run things. Generally I avoid becoming a leader until I'm forced to work in a group.

I know what you mean there are times when I am forced to become the leader. Like we had this school project and I tried just being in the background. I did my part of the project and up came presentation day. Everybody in my group was freaking out and didn't know what order we should have everything for each section of the presentation. I ended up telling people how I thought things should have been and what pieces they should talk about then move on and back to them. They would talk about a portion of what they researched and then move to another person who had something similarly related then talk about what else they researched and etc etc etc. I ended up leading the speech

Likewise, I often ended up being the leader in school projects. Most often because I seemed to be more interested in scoring well on the project than anyone else in my group. However, a couple of times I ended up in groups that absolutely refused to work together, despite any effort on my part.

I took an acting class once and had to make a sketch in a small group. But none of my group mates would meet with me outside of class to work on our project. I wrote a quick, simple script as a last ditch effort to save things, but they refused to even use that. Against all reason, they decided it was better to "wing it". We failed that project.

Lovely group there. I hope I never get one like that

Yeah, can't say I was pleased. But I did learn some valuable lessons from that class and overall it went pretty well. I think I ended up with an A anyways, even with that minor setback.

I can say I'm probably neither. I don't really have the capabilities to lead anyone, but I do not follow anyone either. I do whatever suits my purpose and mine alone.

I feel like I'm a bit of anarchist. I don't particularly enjoy leading others, but I'll often dislike following. I'm more of a rebel at all times.

It usually depends with me. If it has something to do with creativity, I'm a full-on leader. But if it has to do with anything else, I'm a dead-on follower.

I think I could be both, depending on my mood. If I'm up to it I can be a leader, other times I'm so blah I can't.
