Most of you guys know that if you contact Support it's me you're emailing. But I get love letters landing in my spam folder too :O

A few years back those would have consisted almost solely of stuff about penis enlargement and Viagra

Then it changed to stuff from imaginary friends, wanting to tell me all about amazing work from home job opportunities!

These days, it's all Cyrillic

Of course these could well be also about Viagra and amazing work from home opportunities, and maybe something combining the two! xD It just makes me giggle how spam seems to follow trends just like anything else.

Also how certain areas in the world seem to be slow jumping on the band wagon. The richer/more hi-tec countries do it first, they then move onto newer technology. The by then old school methods filter through to the poorer parts of the world.

Before Inso improved our bot protection I used to do a daily sweep for bot accounts. At first the majority of them were American (mainly Viagra sellers again xD, those of you who've been here a long time might remember me converting some of those into mules for people). Then it swung over to Eastern Europe: Romania and the Ukraine and so on, these days, any we get tend to be from India.

Makes me wonder if the spam email will follow the same trend as the bots then, as that is clearly at the middle stage with stuff originating from Eastern Europe and Russia. Can't wait to start getting emails in Hindi!

What kind of junk do you guys end up with in your spam?

I don't actually get much in my spam. I actually think the only thing I've gotten in my spam in the last year or so have been about a) American Express (Bitch please, I'm 18, I don't have one of those, don't try to fool me)
or b) Fed Ex, which I am relatively sure we don't even have in this country... So yeah. And I've only got like one or two of those.

I get Paypal spoof stuff, which I love forwarding on to Paypal.

I'll actually check my own spam folder occasionally, just to see if there's anything in there that I should be forwarding on to the spoof catchers the banks and so on have.

I get emails telling me I need to lose weight and that I need to find a "husband". XD That's mostly what my spam folder contains.

Wow, your spam box is a Jewish mother :O

No wait, it would be telling you you needed to eat then xD

If you lost weight you'd disappear, your spam is trying to kill you! D:

That's what I always think...it's not only trying to get me not to eat but to hook up with a man. Spam folders are scary.

I get those weird e-mails with the bit.ly link that nobody is stupid enough to click on. They are replying like "Hey I finally found something that works" and I'm like "I have no friends it wont work on me!" XD

I also got the Viagra and enlargement crap too but mostly the above.

Oh... and I also got a TON of those Blizzard Entertainment fishing e-mails... I was so irritated by these and one time replied to it and said "I DON'T HAVE A BLIZZARD ACCOUNT!" XD cause I didn't... not on that e-mail at least...

A great deal of my spam mail is from the Obama Administration. Has been ever since the election when I signed on as a supporter. At about the same time I got sick of the constant e-mails, so did my inbox because it all started going to the spam folder. XD

I also have some spam from my college. They send out a lot of stuff seeking people to take surveys for the psych department (psych major) and stuff about what's going on on campus. I don't mind it, but I hardly have time to study, let alone take 20 minute surveys that give me nothing in return, and I live 20 miles from campus, so yeah.

OMG, surveys xD

"Just a quick survey, it will only take 20 minutes of your time"

20 MINUTES!

F that! A quick survey takes 1 minute, or it's toast!

Haha, exactly, Jelly! I usually read through them to see how long they are, and the second I see 20 minutes I usually make friends with the big red X in the corner of my screen.

Sometimes they'll say something about a reward and I'll get interested again, but then it's always like "complete this irritating survey and win a CHANCE at winning a $5 gift card."

Sometimes emails from my dad end up in there so I do have to go through it from time to time.. it's so tiresome though..
Woh, and! thanks to this thread I discovered a good one in there. A personal note from lead singer in my favorite band that I sent an online donation to because I watched a livestreamed show. Awww. So nice. :3

Usually though, it's all:
Pharmacies galore - usually offering me Viagra.. today they offer "Free trial pack of generic VIAGRA."
And Sensa: "Eat yourself skinny."
Credit Report offers, Health Insurance offers, Sattelite TV offers,
Natural Enhancement "My girlfriend said wow!",
and the notorious "LOL is this you?! Check this out!!!!!"

A quick survey isn't even a survey... it's an indepth 1,000 question questionnaire
The problem is with that Elys, is often times there's no visual sign of the pages. Just "Next" and the 20 hidden pages...
Then they ask for your real name and I'm like "Screw this"

Ugh school e-mails... I get so many of those... just thankful my account got locked for no longer being a student

@ Hummy - Hahaha... I think most people would know after about an hour...

@Poet: Ach, yeah. That about sums them up. But you'd be surprised how many times I've just entered Fake Fake as my name and it got accepted.

Woo! I forwarded a phishing email to Paypal earlier today, and they sent me a thank you reply just now :O

I guess I'm the first person that's reported that particular attempt.

It's probably been at least a year since I've actually looked in my spam folder. I think I'll have a peek inside...
Nope! Bad idea. Naomi says she's waiting for me... Maybe the dozens of elderly, plus-sized Asian millionaires nearby with terrific sexual desire for their age can help me track down Sam and Dean.

A month ago I started to get a flurry of American targeted spam emails to one of my email addresses. They've stopped now but they mainly consisted of viagra, social security, credit cards, AT&T and solar energy. Lot's of fun!

But my most favourite spam emails ever sent to me was something about someone coming back from holidays and having bed bugs. I had a picture of it but I can't find it. D: If I find it I'll post it!

I get a lot of stuff for elderly and religious dating sites, go figure. Or at least that's what I notice the most since it sneaks past my filter a lot. I also get a lot of stuff sneaking through supposedly about loans and debts and such. Funny since I have none. Peeking in my spam folder now, the strangest email I have is some ad for a garden hose. That's not even a euphemism, it's actually spam about a garden hose. I didn't know that was a thing.
