Rose Pearl: I decided you were a delicious sounding fruit in the previous post, so gotta try again!

Wonderlands 08-17-2013 10:06 AM

8:27PM, woo 'straya! 8D

His eyes and face in general scares me. He doesn't look real! :<
What a jubilant song though.

The Wandering Poet 08-17-2013 10:06 AM

Rose Pearl not Pear Jelly [rofl] and you say I need sleep?

My excuse? [ninja] Really good book...

KapetaSukal 08-17-2013 10:07 AM

Im awake for the money!!!!!! [poke] *poking money*

KatMagenta 08-17-2013 10:17 AM

I made sure I was up this morning to watch Soccer AM. [cool]

jellysundae 08-17-2013 10:20 AM

Ooh! Wonderlands is another Aussie! That video is creepy as hell isn't it, but you're right, very jubilant song. Alarm clocks should play it xD

Poet, I noticed! I repinged under the video, look :P What you reading?

The Wandering Poet 08-17-2013 10:23 AM

A "picture book" type thing... [ninja] it has music attached to it...

That reping wasn't there when I read your post xP

Also that video sort of trolls while trolling... cause it's about twice as long as the sound.

KatMagenta 08-17-2013 10:25 AM

I need to start reading again, holiday was such a good start and then I haven't picked anything up since. >.<

jellysundae 08-17-2013 10:28 AM

This version's so much better!

I shall finish my book once I give up and go to bed. Currently re-reading The Fifth Elephant, nice bit of Discworld [:8]

Wonderlands 08-17-2013 10:31 AM

Down under represent!! Now where's Sleepy at? >.>

It would definitely wake you up! (in both good and bad ways)

The Wandering Poet 08-17-2013 10:32 AM

The Fifth Elephant? Is that like a cheesy remake of the Fifth Element?

Is it bad that I eagerly clicked play on that?
Though the music in my "book" is much better

Wonderlands 08-17-2013 10:32 AM

I hardly ever read anymore. There's a bunch of half finished books on my shelf.
I used to read a lot as a kid, in fact I loved it. My parents get sad when they recall it, haha.

The Wandering Poet 08-17-2013 10:38 AM

I'd read a lot more if I had books... unfortunately I can't afford books and I don't really like libraries...

I should totally change my name to Rose Pear :D
I am from Bosnia so that's why I am awake

KatMagenta 08-17-2013 10:49 AM

The Guards books are my favourite of the Discworld series. :)

Are ebooks an option for you Poet? There are a lot of free resources online and if you don't like physically going to your library they might have a digital collection.

Anyhow, I have to go out for lunch now. Bye!

The Wandering Poet 08-17-2013 10:53 AM

I like my books made of paper unfortunately... and if it's a digital book I want it to be interactive (letting me make choices)... makes for more rereads :3

jellysundae 08-17-2013 10:56 AM

I think I might have known you were in Bosnia, at some point, but I've blinked since, so yeah [ninja]

Poet, shame on you! This is Terry Pratchett we're talking about, remakes?! [chair]

Pay attention now...

The Discworld is supported on the backs of four elephants, which in turn stand upon the back of Great A'tuin, the world turtle. The fifth elephant is a legend. There were five initially, but one fell and ended up flung into an orbit around the disc. Coming back in through the atmosphere and crashing into the surface of the disc, breaking up the land and creating the mountains and continents. In typical Discworld fashion fat is mined by the dwarfs, there are enormous fat deposits beneath Überwald, and these are said to be the remained of the elephant.

The Wandering Poet 08-17-2013 10:58 AM

Ah of course... back to beating the poet... xP

So the elephant 'sploded?

Volucria 08-17-2013 10:59 AM

I have an excuse too. I live in Belgium, it's 13:20h here. [lol]

Discworld! I have those books sitting in my e-reader waiting for me to finish the Book of the New Sun series by Gene Wolfe. Which is also nice, even if the protagonist is a bit of an asshat.

S3rg3antDucky 08-17-2013 11:06 AM

Because I'm drawing and I can't put it down~ <3
-Has a lazy eye from being so exhausted-
Huehuehue~ :3

jellysundae 08-17-2013 11:08 AM

I don't know that it exploded, this is gonna be one BIG elephant, afterall. Think of it more like a squashy meteor strike?

Some of you are on now when you definitely should be asleep then xD

But it is Saturday, so who cares \o/

The Wandering Poet 08-17-2013 11:09 AM

I can imagine it raining lard or something... not a pretty sight...

Rose Pearl 08-17-2013 11:16 AM

I didn't even know those were books

jellysundae 08-17-2013 11:21 AM

You've learnt something useful today then :D

Volucria 08-17-2013 11:28 AM

Question: does it take a long time to read a Discworld novel? Because I'm a terribly slow reader and this series is like 30 books long, and I don't want to be 50 by the time I've finished the last book. D:
