What is an unusual quirk that you have? Just something you do that almost nobody you know understands or really can make sense of. Maybe they make fun of you for it, but maybe they totally accept it but just find it unusual.
I have two:
1: I really love baths. Like. A lot. I don't hate showers, but baths are just so relaxing, and there's something about being in water that I thoroughly enjoy.
2: I put my shirts on weirdly. I can't really describe how I do it, but everyone tells me that it's weird, except for my best friend. She puts her shirts on the same way.
So what about you? What are your quirks?

One of my quirks, that has become more noticeable in the last year, is that I sign all the time, even when I don't mean to (sometimes I do it without realizing that I am doing it)- I sometimes even forget to voice! I'm fluent in American Sign Language, so I know this is the reason for this.

1) I sign the alphabet when I am in deep thought (ASL)
2) I am very jumpy all the time. If someone tells me something I like I get jumpier.
3) I laugh. At everything. Literally everything.
4) I like something one day and hate it the next. It's a never-ending cycle of me getting rid of and wanting stuff back.
5) I speak to and about myself in third person.

Uniplex - That's pretty cool - with signing the alphabet in sign! Do you know any other signs, other than the alphabet? I finger spell words when I don't know how to spell them. It helps me remember them better. :)

I used to chew on my knuckles a lot when I was younger. Not so much anymore, but sometimes I drop back into it if I'm especially stressed. I have scars all over my knuckles because of it, too

Whenever I speak, or someone else does, my fingers are always moving against my skin, writing them all, or trying to catch up. Or if I'm watching a movie, it's my toes. Then it's not writing, it's typing out whatever they're speaking. I don't know why I do it, but people say my late grandfather used to do the same (not the typing, the writing XD)

I bite my nails like no other - especially when I'm stressed or nervous. Needless to say my nails are usually pretty short. :/

I hate when people touch me gently. Just laying a hand on my back makes me uncomfortable.

I dislike it when people I don't know, or do know but dislike, touch me. Or are near me. It makes my skin crawl.
Obviously, I tend to avoid shopping during a certain season ;P
I also have an obsessive need to have a clean kitchen. I don't know why, but I do. I really, absolutely loath living with people who do not clean up after themselves in the kitchen. I don't understand why they don't. Cooking is /not/ that exciting- clean while you cook! It isn't hard! >:(
I also bite my nails when I'm really upset or stressed.... and sleep in excess when I'm under previously mentioned conditions. Makes little time to do much in the day, but, I don't seem to feel the need to be awake much. Heh.

I laugh when I get hurt. I think this is just nervousness or something >_>
I tear when I get angry. I have no explanation for this.
I'm ridiculously laid back and optimistic. Just leave me to myself and I'll get things done. I'd rather see the positive side of things.
I am extremely melodramatic and theatrical. As in I'll start quoting books or randomly break out into song

I used to (and still do) hate the feeling of powder, or anything like it- baby powder, flour and chalk dust were all things I couldn't bear to touch when I was younger.
I still dislike the feeling, but considering I cook for a living I had to get used to flour after a while

Ummm… I get hiccups around my friends or people I'm excited to talk to… ^^;;;
It's really embarrassing. They don't even sound like hiccups.
My friends say I sound kind of like a cat, but it's different every time.
Luckily, my best friend does the same thing, so I don't feel too crazy.

I also really dislike the sound of fingers on a chalkboard, but worse than that that icing that people use for gingerbread houses or malt balls, the sound of that, someone moving it, or scraping it or biting it makes my teeth hurt. Even thinking about it makes my teeth hurt.

I count everything into groups of 4. All the time.
Steps I take, number of times I chew something (on each side of my mouth, it has to be even), if I have an itch I have to scratch it 4 times, if I eat a packet of Skittles I count them into groups of 4 (if there are some left over, I give or throw them away) etc.
I also rearrange words into the backwards alphabet (A=Z, B=Y, C=X etc.) in my head.
So "Menewsha" would be "Nvmvdhsz". I do it while I read, while I work, while I'm chatting to people... all the time.

I go in for high fives way more than most people do. I wasn't even aware of it until an ex pointed it out. Hell, I even high-five myself for accomplishments. One time a professor told me I would be getting full marks for an assignment I turned in, I high fived myself, and he hesitated and said "... did you just high five yourself?" It looks weird and silly, but I'm all about celebrating little accomplishments. Anything to make life more pleasant, you know? Luckily my current boyfriend is totally into it and initiates high fives for silly things as much as I do. I can't remember if I got him started on that or if he did it already. But I think we feed off each other's high five energy. So much so that now we sometimes high five each other over nothing... or over failures.

How did I miss this? xDD
My friend's godson loves signing Cookie - Monster whenever we ask him what he is. It's pretty adorable!
I'm only asking as I'm fluent in sign, and I love finding other people who know sign. :]
I love the sign for weird. It makes me happy.

1.) I chew on things - anything I have on hand usually - when I get nervous. When I was in kindergarten, I used to always carry my backpack with me, because I chewed on one of the straps to keep calm.
2.) I don't know if this one is usual or not, but I can't do sugary stuff on hot days. Candy, soda, stuff like that. It gives me an upset stomach.
3.) When I'm really listening to music - like totally absorbed in it - I subconsciously start tapping out the rhythm on my desk with my fingers.
4.) When I daydream, I usually start rocking forward and backward and humming. One time I did it on the bus, and it was really awkward.

I pick at my skin whenever I get nervous.
I burst out into song all too often.
I poke at my bruises to see if they hurt. If they do, I wince and poke some more to see if the pain will subside. Then I go back to what I was doing.
I draw waaay too much. Like, so much that I have a TON of unfinished work.

I also hate being touched by people who aren't my girlfriend/people I haven't given express permission to. My girlfriend always talks about how she wants to take me in a mosh pit but she would be terrified that I would get hurt (I'm small) or angry/uncomfortable.
My cat drags her nails across the walls and it makes that nails on a chalkboard sound, and that's the only time I genuinely contemplate murdering her. I'm super sound and texture sensitive.

I don't like for people to watch me buttering my toast anymore, because it's like this strange ritual and people don't understand.
I have to cover every bit of the top surface of the toast, and to do it right, without getting any over the edges, I have to do it really delicately. Sometimes when it's all going really perfectly, I kind of coo at the toast, like I'm encouraging it.
The butter has to be pretty much the perfect softness, and the toast has to be perfectly crispy.
I've been accused of being unreasonably obsessed with this, but I'm the one eating the toast, and I just can't see anything wrong with insisting that my toast is exactly the way I like it, you know?
And people talk to inanimate objects all the time, how is it really any different than baby-talking at a piece of toast?
