Sit up straight!

You're going to have back problems if you keep sitting like that!

You guys have heard that before, haven't you? That you should sit up straight, or use some kind of NASA-designed space chair to help your posture, or some stupid yoga ball because it helps you lose weight while you sit all day.

I find that the longer I'm at a desk, or at a computer, the more my posture deteriorates. I'll sink low, hang a leg or two over the arm rest, sometimes I feel like I'd end up upside down if I could help it.

How about you guys?

When i spend hours and hours at my computer i also end up in weird positions.

when i'm on the ground and something like a desk or box in front of me i fold myself in half. My legs go up and i push the table/box real close to me so i fold. For some reason I've always done it. Used to scare my mom.

Other hand, when i'm in a chair, i do one of two things. First, i sit casually then end up with one leg on the desk and the other across the armrest. Second, i turn the chair around and sit with both legs across the arms of the chair with my chest to the back rest.

My shoulders hurt a lot, usually from sitting at the desk all day. It's the wrong height.

I've always slouched, but I've been trying to sit up straighter, if only because it makes my boobs look bigger. XD

No, really, I know that if I don't correct it then I'll end up hunched over for life, so I really do try and sit correctly, it's just not always easy to remember to do it...

So far the best thing for my posture has been my work uniform. No kidding. It looks like military get up so I just naturally stand and sit straight.
At home my laptop is on my bed so I just lounge about it.

I have terrible posture when I sit at my computer desk. It's something I would like to work on, because it makes me back hurt. The trouble is that my back muscles are used to slouching, so sitting up straight makes my back hurt also! [sweat]

I've been thinking about sitting with a book balanced on my head, like a stereotypical Victorian school girl. [lol]

It's a onesie! It has a gold belt area too, and white stars on blue for the pants part.

No matter what I'm sitting on, I always cross my legs, like this. It's just automatic, and I have to fight the urge to do so in formal settings like restaurants, since it's a little uncouth. [oops]

I like to sit the same way @[email protected] Curse restaurants for not understanding...

My posture varies depending on my mood and where I'm sitting. I work an office job so I have a number of different postures there. Sometimes I'll sit at the edge of my seat to force myself to have good posture. If I'm getting restless but don't feel like getting up, I slide down in my chair so that my head is where my mid-lower back is and I'm stretched out under my desk. I sit cross-legged and on my feet to.

At home, I can sit in any of those ways or my feet end up on my desk/table.

No table/desk? No problem! Lay on the ground. Lay on back, put laptop on belly and head against a chair. Put laptop on chair (that's usually at an empty table) and sit facing chair.

Now eating at home, boy do I give my boyfriend a heart attack! I'll slouch and pull the chair up to the table and then prop my plate between the table and my collarbone. To me, it's mess-free, lazy eating! To him, I'm going to choke and die XD It's so much of a habit at this point, I don't even notice myself doing it anymore.

I have heard this all of my life.
But mostly from my dad as he doesn't want me with a bad back.

so recently I started to work out so fix my posture.
though since I site up in a chair that is well..uncomfortable It kind of forces me to sit up straight.

zigbigadorlube 08-20-2014 08:59 PM

I think my neck is the main problem for me. I tend to hang my head down a lot and sit too close to the screen.

I went to Catholic school from pre-school through 6th grade....
needless to say, my posture and cursive are pristine.

._.

My posture remains fine and i don't have any problem with it, but its time that makes my tummy ache when i sit for 3 or 4 hours max... backache i have experienced only at night sitting on my chair but usually i have to take a break, lay down and rub my tummy for some minutes before getting back on the chair. i had an accident last year in which my ribs were really shaken, though nothing serious happened but i usually feel an ache if i am in the sitting position for too long.
