My mum and nan were both demon knitters at one point, neither do it any more though, health has got in the way for both of them. My mum can still crochet as that doesn't hurt her hands the way knitting does, but it uses so much wool, and wool's expensive. D: I bought a set of cheap crochet hooks from Ebay, and I have a little bit of wool, but if I'll ever progress to actually learning to use them...who knows? ><;

It happens, and there are yarn sales, yarn sales are awesome.
Sucks that they can not do it anymore.

Clever title! I crochet but I'm not that great at doing anything that isn't square/rectangular.

Why thank you, and it takes time, I suggest the book Crochet for Dummies, and youtube

I'm too lazy to read what everyone else said, but I clicked it because I thought it had to do with Once Upon A Time. (Captain Hook [drool])

But, I crochet a little. :) I can't read those manuals for it, but I know a few different patterns.

PapillonCameo 10-03-2014 01:43 AM

i love finding video tutorials for stuff on youtube. The scarf I'm making right now is from one of those things.

youtube is very useful, and again, Crochet for dummies de-mystifies crochet language

I have a rather large stash of yarn...which needs to be organized.

Some of My clothes I am not
exactly comfortable in, so that is why i like to ask for money to get clothes.
I would like to replace a lot of my clothes that I dislike.

Mine is as organized as it could be.
Which is..all over my sister's room. But rolled up in balls.
It use to be just everywhere and tangled.
So it's less chaotic and more organized.

My immediate family are like...major organizers.
My dad will randomly rearrange the room and organize stuff.

TanaChan 10-03-2014 03:00 AM

That would irritate me so bad Fuu-Chan, especially if it was my stuff, and I had known where it was before hand.

I amigumi? Amigurumi? Whatever it's called I crochet plushies. Plushies based on my friends. Because I'm lonely.

TanaChan 10-04-2014 01:26 PM

I like making plushies too!

zigbigadorlube 10-04-2014 02:13 PM

I would love to be able to do that, those are so adorable! I bought a tiny crocheted kitty from Japan Expo this year. So kawaii!

TanaChan 10-04-2014 02:14 PM

youtube has the answer for how to, just got to find one that works for you

PapillonCameo 10-08-2014 07:28 PM

I've been trying to figure out how to do amigurumi

Alexander J Luthor 10-08-2014 08:31 PM

I keep staring at this thread... I'm gonna find my hooks and get back to it. *nods*

Mama Juru 10-08-2014 08:54 PM

I knit and crochet both, although I'm a much better crocheter IMO than a knitter. I knit very slowly.

Right now I'm working on this: Ravelry: Coeurs et Flocons pattern by La Droguerie and this: Ravelry: Yggdrasil Afghan pattern by Lisa Jacobs

I'm not sure if you can see these images or not (may have to log in to Ravelry to see them) but these are the WIPs:

I've since completed the entire braid around the tree in the middle and have started to cast on to make the next border section but I put it away for a bit because at the time it was 110 degrees here and working on a blanket was really not an option, haha.

I've also begun working on this as a tablecloth in maroon thread:

I'm up to the peacock's feet (it's my work project--yes I crochet at work and talk on the phone all day). I'll try to get some photos at some point.

Alexander J Luthor 10-08-2014 09:09 PM

Ohhhhhh, I love that tree one. [love]

TanaChan 10-09-2014 01:01 AM

Mama Juru:

*drools* I love them!!!!![squee]
omg, people at work tell me I am advanced, but I certainly don't think so, but I would have to try my hand as those patterns first before I could determin if I could do them or not

and if it is knitting I can not...I can not even cast on

PapillonCameo 10-09-2014 01:30 AM

Those are beautiful!
My knitting is very slow ..

TanaChan 10-09-2014 01:42 AM

I can not knit...so you are doing better than I am XDE

Mama Juru 10-09-2014 11:40 PM

Honestly I just saw something I liked and did it. I'm no expert knitter. I learn as I go (thank god for youtube, lol). Crocheting I've been doing forever. My mother taught me years and years ago.

PapillonCameo 10-10-2014 12:38 AM

Yeah, youtube does help a lot! My grandmother knits, but she never showed me how. I just kind of ... picked up on it on my own.

TanaChan 10-10-2014 01:39 AM

maybe I should try youtube for knitting

2600 10-10-2014 02:55 AM

I was taught how to knit a scarf and I did it very rarely for about a month then gave up on it... but I did learn how to knit... kinda. hehe.

Alexander J Luthor 10-10-2014 08:49 PM

I just realized, it that "rug hook thing" option supposed to be a loom?
