Are you picky? I am. Really, really picky. Mainly about seasoning. I don't like when my food has dark seasoning sprinkled all over it. Sugar is fine. Salt is fine. Cinnamon is great 'cause it's sweet! But, like… parsley? No. Never. It's the appearance. It disgusts me, and I don't want that in my mouth.
The only thing I can stand that on is chicken. There's no getting around it when I order it from somewhere, for one. Two, chicken is so good I don't care. I don't constantly think about the specks as I eat. They aren't right in my face.
Give me anything else covered in seasoning like that, and I'll pick it off. I'm a fast eater (much to the dismay of my parents) until I have to clean what I'm eating between every bite.
In general, if a food looks or smells displeasing to me, I will not touch it. This makes for a very long list of things I refuse to eat. It's not good to be that way, but I can't help it.
What makes you decide whether or not you like a food? Are you one of those people who'll stick anything in your mouth as long as it won't kill you?

Aside from the fact that I'm vegetarian, I'm not really picky. There are some things I don't like, but not too many. Even things I'm not crazy about, I'll probably eat if they're on something I like (I don't really like mushrooms, but give me a pizza with mushrooms on it and ok I'll eat it, no problem). I'm pretty easy to please and try to find something good about everything I eat. My boyfriend is much pickier, so when we go out to eat and I ask him how the meal was after, he usually says, "eh, it was okay." Idk, that bums me out. I'd rather lie to myself about the food being a bit better than it was than think I went out to a restaurant, got excited for food, paid too much for it, and didn't even enjoy it that much. There have been very few occasions at a restaurant where I've ever thought "yeah, I don't like this." It's an awful feeling. I like enjoying things.

I'm not too picky at all, but I can not stomach soggy foods, like.. undercooked pancakes? No way. Runny eggs? Nuh-uh! But generally if something smells or tastes good, I'll eat it. Except duck. I don't eat ducks 'cause they're so damn cute! (though I have eaten duck before so I will admit it is tasty, I'd just prefer not to eat it.)

@Cherry: There are a lot of restaurants where I order my usual things but don't like them, so I don't even bother ordering. (Family drags me out to eat a LOT.) Of course, since I'm picky, "my usual things" are fries without seasoning and chicken fingers off the kids' menu. Heh. I even do that at fancy places and am not ashamed or disappointed.
@Pookie: Does the appearance of soggy food bother you, or is it the texture?
I think cereal with milk looks soggy and gross. I'm lactose intolerant, so I wasn't brought up on wet cereal. I eat it dry with my hands. LOL.

I'm kind of in the middle, I'm picky on somethings. I refuse to touch anything that has squid or shellfish in it. But on the other hand most of the time, I'll at least give something a try. Only the a fore mentioned types of fish, and some veggies will I never put in my mouth, ever!

I'm very picky with some things, like if you feed me a new food and the meat is not beef, pork, chicken or goat then please don't tell me. The exception to that is obviously if I'm like "Hey I wanna try bison let's go find a place that makes it."
I also smell my food before I eat it, drinks too. And cups, when I get a cup from the cupboard I'll smell it. If it doesn't smell right I'll pass.
As far as seasonings go I like a lot, just not too spicy. Also stay away from seasonings and such that look like bugs.
The worst though is when I find a hair in my food. Happened once at a restaurant. Ever since if it happens I can't eat that food for a long time after without my stomach being mad. Even if it's my own hair.
