Salvete: You're welcome! :]
And awww, thanks! ^-^ I'm glad that the name fits her - otherwise I would have had to totally re-think my name options for her. :P
salvete: You're webby welcome (wish there was a spider emoji :P)
You'll love this LOL:
Catch that last bit about what's sold separately? Lmaoing for some reason.
My mother named me Robin. Her mother renamed me Rebecca because I "needed a good Jewish name." Try explaining that one to people who forget that being Jewish is also a religion and not just a culture. Anyway as to which name I tell people depends. At work I'm Robin since it's still my legal name. To family and close friends I'm Rebecca. Random people its usually Robin, unless I'm meeting them through someone who knows me as Rebecca.
In high school I was friends with twins, one called me Bird, since robins are birds (in high school I went with Robin to avoid having to explain why I want to be called Rebecca or Becca to 7 teachers every semester) and her twin sister called me Mouse just to be funny. The preschool I used to work at all the kids called me Rah-rah. Rebecca gets shortened to Becca or Beck. Becky when I was younger.
My name is Jennifer.
My mother always hated the name when she was young, but then when she got pregnant with me, she started to like it, so that's what she named me. My dad got to pick my middle name - he used his ex-girlfriend's name No wonder my parents are divorced! XD
I prefer to be called Jenna, but Jennifer and Jen are okay too. I hate Jenny.
sheepcakes: I've known a few people with two names. My grandmother was named something but fell really ill just a bit later and they decided something had to be appeased, and decided on the snake people and named her Naga Sundari, meaning beautiful snake ^_^
Roxxxy: I've always liked Jennifer; I kept naming my characters that in the stories I wrote when I was young LOL. That was a pretty crazy thing to do on your Dad's part
My first name is Elizabeth. I was named after both my grandmothers (Elizabeth was my mom's mom and my middle name came from my dad's mom). I like my name, honestly. Though as I got older, I hated the nickname I went by and come high school I did all I could to get people to call me Elizabeth. What was my nickname? It was Peggy Jo. Dx It's a bit of a story on how they got Peggy from Elizabeth.
My name is PinkLisa. I've had the nick name "Pink" and "Pinky" too. I wear a lot of "Pink" every day. My bed room has always been decked out in the color"Pink". My hair is "Pink" too. I sort of feel a connection to the positive happy color "Pink". I tend to be very up beat and smile a lot. I like it when people notice my "Pink" hair and that it matches my clothing and my bed room when visiting.
Lizzie: My aunt, who took me in during high school, is named Peggy Jo!!!!!
My middle name is Sue, but she always calls me Jennifer Suzanne when she's upset with me

It's cool that your hair in real life matches with your hair on Mene! :)
My first name is Rebecca and my middle name is Eve. I love both of them, though I feel Eve suits me a lot better.
My mom apparently already knew that if she ever had a girl, the name was going to be Rebecca. I got Eve from my grandmother because that is her middle name. It was going to be Caroline or Sue, but the middle name Caroline went to my cousin, and Sue turned out to be an unfortunate mix-up on grandma's hospital bill from when she first had mom.
I like the name Eve because it is nice and earthy sounding. It fits me. :)

That's so cool. xD You know, it's not that I didn't like the nickname Peggy Jo. I just felt like... Going by Elizabeth was more grown up. (Totally wanted to be a grown up. Should go back in time and tell my young self to enjoy it while it lasts.)
Oh, gosh... The only time I hated my full name was when my mom was mad at me. Dx "Elizabeth Joann!" Parents rarely use the full name for anything but to let you know you in trouble.
I always thought Tamara was an Indian name meaning lotus. A name can mean many things if applied to other languages though
The number of people who think I was named after Uma Thurman :/
Jelly-san:
Kira-chan: Nasha means intoxication but so does Nisha. -_- <-stubbornface
Anyhow, that's a sexy meaning so you should be happy *crosses arms*
Dandelioness: My feelings towards this new meaning of my name are ambivalent. Now that I've had a first hand account of how people act when they're intoxicated, Im all weirded out.
My name is Melody. My father wanted me to be musically talented, so he fought with my mother until she gave in and he got his way with choosing my name. She wanted to name me Cecilia, which ended up being one of my several middle names. I've had a lot of weird nicknames besides Mel or Melmel. I've been called Coy (short for Coyote, also turned into Cya along the way), Kit, and Bon Bon (a name my two year old niece decided to bestow upon me out of the blue one day).
Oh, and I'm constantly mistaken for a "Melanie". I've gotten so used to it, that I don't even bother to correct people. Including my general manager who's known for needing things right and proper in their place and everything done a certain way. I can't bring myself to correct her when she calls me Melanie, despite the sick pleasure I take in proving her wrong every now and then.
I made up the name Amane when I was three. It's not pronounced ah-mah-neh. Think "am MAINE." That anime with ah-mah-neh in it has misled people every time.
*jumps on topic and doesn't read anything else*
I don't like my real name at all! It was picked because it sounded strong. I can't stand it. It's gross and common. Thing's everywhere!
This is a really neato thread! People's name origins can be fascinating. :)
My name is Marina. I really love it, since it's not super common. It means 'of the sea', from the Latin 'mar, mare' meaning sea. (Which made my Latin teachers freak the frick out on the first day of class every year...and which would be a whole lot less ironic if I could at least swim.)
My parents got the idea from watching Star Trek: The Next Generation; I was named after a certain actress on the show. ;) I've grown up to be a pretty big Trekkie, so it all works out. It's probably destiny or something. Probably.
