I've always had good report cards if you just ignore that C in gym class. [stare]

In high school, I sucked at biology. Otherwise, I was always an AB Honor Roll student.
Right now, I have a B in college intermediate algebra, and it makes me really sad. My internet was limited, so I was cramming a week of math work into 2 hours at my sister's house, so no studying to know what I was doing. My grade has definitely suffered. My professor e-mailed mid-term grades. There's no other way to know what you have in the class. I have an 81. It's the only class I don't have an A in. I had all A's last semester, my first semester of college. I really don't want to not be on the president's list again. I'm trying to maintain my 4.0 GPA throughout my associate's degree. I started off this semester with a 67 in English due to a stupid mistake with parenthetical citations, but I have managed to bring it back up to a 98. I'm hoping I can do the same with algebra. /endlongrantnoonecaresabout |
Back when I was in high school, the subjects I was best at were English, French and biology. I always trusted my ability with foreign languages, and I still do. I sucked big time in PE, however.

I recently got my report card and I feel a bit unsatisfied and disappointed. I played around and I could've done so much better but I guess I learned my lesson. A few A's and B's that I'm grateful for but there's this C that I'm particular about. Ironically, the subjects I didn't put much effort on gave me a B but the one I actually studied for gave me an A. Life makes me wonder but hey, I guess it's a sign to work harder! [squee][sup]

I'm glad she's a smart kid. Smart enough to do her schoolwork, especially!
I used to get fantastic grades, but I got tired of doing the work. I almost couldn't get into college as a result. Props to her for doing the work and getting the grades! |
I dropped out of school in 10th grade, with an F average....but, when I was 26 years old, I passed the GED tests in the top 25 percentile....with no studying!
I suggest and promote getting that high school diploma while the education is (almost) free! Yay for Neph's daughter! Smart kids ROCK!! |
Where I live, if you're low income, you can get free tutoring and take your GED test. My friend's mom has gone through the program eight times now and hasn't been able to pass the test. I feel bad for her. She wants to get her GED, so she can go to culinary school.
My older sister dropped out her senior year. She was failing as well. She didn't like going to school. My mom had to force her to go until she dropped out. My sister had so many unexcused absences that they were threatening my mom with jail time, which I don't agree with when the child is that old. My sister preferred staying home and reading romance novels... |
