Nails in plankton
 

While shopping for cosmetics I notice that the names some companies are giving the colours of their cosmetics getting stranger and stranger.

Nails in Shrimpy. Nails in Plankton. Cream Blush in Afternoon Tea. Chamelon Glow in Wax + Wane.

Nails in Boy Next Door. Wut.

Glowstick in Heat. WTF ?!

Seriously who's coming up with the names for these things ?!

Have you come across any weird names for colours of your cosmetics ?

Dear god, why?! That sounds like google translate of foreign product names or something. I kinda like Glowstick in Heat.
But wow, my cosmetics don't have weird names like that. I'm thinking of my nail polish colors and it's mostly...normal.

But I can't live without my Unicorn Fart Rainbow Polish D:

Not quite along the same lines, but I do have a purple nail polish called Baby Blues.

I've always thought nail polish 'color names' are weird....I don't know - I don't paint my nails like ... ever....so I don't really own any. But I laugh at the ones my friends buy.

I don't use make up, but yeah. Those r weird👀

I have a medium-large collection of nail polish even though I rarely paint my nails (I mostly use it for painting models). Quickly going through it, some interesting color names:

Hallucinate
Jam Session
All About You
Clam Up
Always in the Pit
Let's Talk
Lavender Pearlescent - which would be a great descriptive name, if not for the fact that IT'S PINK.
Steel My Heart - which, again, is PINK. Not silver. Pink.
Pick Your Poison
Wild Card/Invitation
Blow Bubbles

It's actually particularly fun when talking about what colors I painted my models.
"Ah yes. Exia is done in Metal Iced, Blizzard Blue, Blue Freeze...Make Waves, and Rain Check."

Okay lets see...
Hallucinate is probably purple. Jam session, red? Clam up, white? Pit one is definitely brown. Poison has gotta be green or purple. Bubbles... blue?

Hallucinate: clear topcoat with holographic glitter (I use it and a blue/green iridescent glitter topcoat to make GN particle residue on my 00 kits).
Jam Session: Chunky purple glitter.
Clam Up: Pink.
Pit: Chunky red glitter.
Poison: Deep red.
Bubbles: Pink.

I feel like these names were just drawn out of a hat.

So.... not one of them was the color I figured it would be [lol]
