Mirrored images.

Looking into mirrors and having the camera automatically flip images has given me a false perception of my face!!

I had a mini stroke the other day when I realized my nose and lip rings are not on the side of my face that I always thought they were!

When I look in the mirror, it's how I think it looks to someone looking at me... but I realized it's the opposite side!!

It just really blew my mind.

Has this ever happened to anyone??

LOLOL.

This isn't funny because I've had the same realization a ton of times and I've been angry because I realize I don't look as awesome as I thought I did when the picture gets flipped.

But it's still kind of funny how people are probably walking around thinking that they look one way, but it actually looks completely different.

I thought that about my nose ring when I first got it one. I was adamant about having it on my right side, but apparently when people look at me it's on their left.

Crazy. I've never thought of it like that before, I need to take more notice when I look at myself in the mirror. o_o

It's not funny... but it totally is.

Mostly because I too was adamant on where my nose ring was placed... And yet here I am... With my right side pierced, thinking I was a lefty this whole time.

It's never really bothered me before but it can be funny. I saw a trick or treater that had decided to use a skin paint crayon to write on himself and didn't account for reflections flipping things. It was hilarious, but obvious that it wasn't meant to be funny.

I see this happening all the time. Especially while driving it will take me a while to register which side the car is on the rear view mirror

I've definitely had that realization before. Just goes to show, what we see in the mirror isn't strictly speaking "true." (Which is both a good thing and a bad thing, depending on what you think you are seeing.)

I get all dyslexic when I look in the mirror! Lol!
When I was young, it was popular to roll your hair in curlers...so, I tried...
Hair stuck out from every direction, off the curlers, cuz I couldn't grasp the depth perception that the mirror created.
I guess that explains why I have never been big on styling my hair much! Lol!

The concept was always so strange to me when I was younger. I'd reach up and touch different parts of my face and watch my reflection do the same so I could figure it out.

I can't say I've had this issue myself but hearing my voice on recordings? Hella bizarre.

Whenever I hear my voice played back, I politely excuse myself so I can go apologize to everyone I ever talked to.

I don't have any piercings, but I go through that all the time. You ever tried learning a dance from a video? You have to remember that when they move right, you gotta move left, and their left is your right… @[email protected] Hence why there are YouTube accounts full of videos where they flipped dance videos so you when they move right, YOU move right.

Interesting. This thread really made me laugh. XD

I've had that realization with my hair parting. I tried to part it on the side that I saw other girls parting it and I ended up parting it on the opposite side thanks to the mirror. XD Oh well.
