How odd is this
Ok I'm in medical massage. Right now I'm taking deep tissue and shiatsu. Right now I'm working on deep tissue homework I have to look up disease definition/symptoms, indications, and contradictions. I'm feeling rather peaceful doing this normally I feel lack of a better term icky seeing images of these and how they would look doing massage but... I have house in doing this and some how it seems very peaceful ...

It is possible that the more you see something, the more desensitized you become ^_^ I would say that is a good thing, especially if you will be seeing a lot of clients possibly with those conditions in the future!

Good point never thought of it that way but I don't think I'll deal with the surgical stuff
|
Gosh, I would love to be your practice subject! Lol!
I've been in need of a deep tissue massage for about a decade, now! Even if the BF offered, he has no idea how to do it right...mainly cuz he says deep tissue massage hurts him, so he either uses too much pressure and hurts, or he doesn't apply enough pressure at all. I hope it all works out for ya!....private massage therapists (NOT the "happy ending" kind!) get paid pretty well! |
Due to being in the medical field as well, I've been exposed to a lot of things, some being very graphic. You definitely either squelch out or get desensitized eventually [yes]
Personally when bored as a kid I watched a lot of those live surgeries, so I've been desensitized for a very long time. |
It could also be that you know you can help the person get better and that's why you feel peaceful. So instead of seeing the image and feeling bad for the person, you know you can do something to help them.
